I am currently going to a pain clinic. I ran out of oxycodone and I have some suboxone from a previous doctor (I went to suboxone doctor about 9 months ago). I don't want to suffer withdrawals, so I took a suboxone. HOW LONG WILL THE SUBOXONE SHOW UP FOR IN A URINE SPECIMEN??? They will drug test me when I go back to my current pain clinic doctor and I don't want the suboxone to show up. I have an oxycodone pill that I can take right before I goto the pain clininc for my monthly visit. I am just worried that the suboxone will also show up in my urine!

this is so true I took a suboxin on thursday off then I have a drug test on monday my doctor prescribes me 30mg irs. after I took the test my god they came in after he got the results and asked me several times if I had taken any ER oxycontins this week. Listing the fact that he prescribes me 30mg , had me convinced that he is right. and not only does it show up as an oxycodone. It actually shows up differently then a 30mg IR and as exactly as a controlled release oxycontin. I never knew that the tests show 30mg IRs and oxycontin controlled release
as completely different results. Thank God my Dr. believed me.

That's not true ! I took a tiny piece of suboxone orange pill cause didn't want to wd and went to pain Dr.and go figure (dirty) dismissed. Got another pain Dr and it stayed in my urine 90days the level drops

Isn't Ultram an opioid? If so, you're basically just "cancelling it out" w/ suboxone. Opioids don't work when you're using suboxone. Just make sure you don't take any type of muscle relaxer, sedative, or benzo (like Xanax or Clonazepam) with suboxone b/c the combined effects will make you comatose and it is really dangerous. Does your dr. know you're on both meds? B/c he/she can tell you if it's ok to combine them.

Btw, sometimes suboxone can show up as other drugs on a drug test - so be careful. If this happens, just ask to be re-tested b/c it shouldn't happen again. Also, I was drug tested (for a job requirement) and had taken a suboxone about 48-72 hours prior -- nothing showed up. Unless they're specifically testing for it, you should be just fine.

If they give U a "5-PANEL DRUG-TEST"(the most common & cheapest, U have nothing to worry about. those test for broad categories like, Opiates, Benzos, THC, Cocaine,& Methamphetamine. The important thing is even though SUBOXONE & even OXY's after a day or so sometimes don't even show. But BOTTOM line is ALL U WOULD TEST POS. 4 IS OPIATES. IT DOESN'T TELL THEM WHICH KIND. In the same way they couldn't tell whether for example a person had been taking say VALUM or XANAX.. they'd just Pop for Benzos. U R STRAIGHT!

Been taking subs for 9mths. Have a piss test in 19days for my pain doc. He knows I tried subs. Hope he doesnt do a the subs test. I know they´re cheap. 1.75ea online. He said come in anyway. Said bout 3 weeks. The head RN at the hospital said 20ー70 days. Lmfao. No professional can give me a str8 answer. Dorks online say 30ー72hrs. Who really knows？

I am a manager at an ambulance company and also a paramedic for the past 20 years. I have all of my employees take drug screens and when one comes up positive, the labs sends me reports that tell me what drugsshowup in each category. I see all the answers for all the questions and it amazes me that everyone gives a different answer. These people are trying to find out the true answer to a question and the get 50 different answers.

First of all, if you do street drugs or prescription drugs that you do not have a prescription for, you really need to stop. It's bad for you, illegal, and you could die from certain combinations. Most companies, for a non-driving position issue a 5 panel test. This tests for marijuana, amphetimine including meth, cocaine (crack), PCP, and opiates (codeine, heroin, and morphine only).

When you get into the 10 panel test, it tests for more specific drugs such as benzos (Valium, Xanax), barbiturates (phenobarbital, a drug for seizures but can be abused for its sedative value), methadone, and oxycodone. The candidate will show up positive if the are taking OxyContin, Percocet, Vicodin, and suboxone. Yes, suboxone shows up on a ten panel as oxycodone. It is a synthetic opioid.

If you a legitimately taking suboxone ask your doctor to write a note saying that he has prescribed a medication to you that has similar properties as those in the oxycodone group. It is none of your employer's business to know exactly what meds you are on as long as they are legally obtained. However, most employers use 5 panel test since it is faster and less expensive. With the population now being on so many prescription drugs, it is expensive sending off every positive test for prescription drugs for the GC/MS test with a review by the lab's doctor.
I use the 5 panel test because I am more concerned that my future employees are using illegal drugs.

So in case you missed it, suboxone shows up on a 10 panel test as oxycodone, which is illegal unless you have a script for it. It has a rather long half life (average 37 hours) so it will stay in your system for up to 2 weeks, depending on how much is built up in your system. Also, FYI, Valium has a very long half life. I was given a Valium in the hospital for muscle spasms and 30 days later I took a urine drug screen and it was still there. I was very happy that I still had the paperwork from the ER that showed the treatment that I had gotten.

A valium only stays 3 days,drug tested at court so you had to take em for awhile! One day that's bs did u take the whole script? And the sub doesn't show up as oxcy,I was getting oc's& perc's got a dirty urine over the sub.

That is true that Suboxone shows up as a oxy on a test. I couldn't believe it. I just took one last week.

that part about it not being your employers business mine found out,sure she told the school and end of year let me go. I would have sued but shed just use another reason (like two sick days over limit)...

ok this is simple. done it fist hand. been on suboxone for about 2 years now. off and on with perc and lortabs and roxys. doesnt matter if l feel of the wagon l took all of them and as much as l could.

Well, went for a couple job interviews. All test which were 5 panal started out failed for opiates. they were they sent to a lab which than first checked for my dr perscriptions. than the labs confirmed l got a script for suboxen for the last 2 years every month like normal and l passed all five drug test. yes l was worried and yes all five offered to hire me.

So those who say suboxene doesnt show cause its a different opiate they dont know s***. it does. Best part is lab tells employer that person has a script for failed test and he is good to go. so they don get to know why, or what. trust me 5 times in a stretch of 3 months did this happen.

I have a pre-employment drug screen coming up, I am currently enrolled in a methadone program as I was addicted to OxyCotin. Im wanting to know a few things:
The position I was hired for is with a hospital and is a non-driving position. I will be admitting patients, working at a desk. Does anyone know if they will do a 5, 7, 8, or 10 panel drug screen? I know that methadone will only be tested for in the 10 panel and that methadone will not show up on any of the other panels.
If they do a 10 panel, I can provide a doctor's note but the note (I had the Dr show it to me) will say it is from Allied Health Services and I am worried that my employer will know that allied health services is a drug treatment program. I live in a small city, so there is only one methadone clinic here. I know that the note will just say that I am under docter's orders and have a prescription for methadone, BUT I am worried about what my employer will say. I was hired the other day, with a start date of 1/28/13, pending my background check and my UA. If they do a 5 panel, then I have nothing to worry about. Its the 10 panel I am worried about. Another question: If they do a 10 panel, and I test positive for methadone and provide a note from my Dr, will the place doing my UA tell my employer that I tested positive for methadone but have a Dr's note? Or will they just tell my employer that I passed my UA? I am well educated about HIPPA and I think it would be a privacy violation for the business doing my UA to tell my empoyler that I am on methadone. People are RX'd methadone for other reasons then drug abuse.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

I am on welbutrin, lyrica, percocet, and propandanol. I was hurting really bad and had taken suboxene and tramadol a few days before my drug screen for my doctor( because i had foolishly ran out of my percocet), and they said i came up positive for a high level of a strong narcotic that they didnt prescribe and not for my percocet. I didnt take percocet previous to the test so that part makes sense. I have also been found to have tramadol in my system before as i used to be prescribed it. So my question is, i took suboxene on tuesday at about six and my test is friday at 10:30... i will be taking my last two percocet tonight. Will i pass my test??? Because i dont know what showed up last time, the subs or the tramadol??? Or both??? Any accurate answers would be greatly appreciated.
