I've changed from Cilift to Nuzak due to extensive weight gain. I've been taking Nuzak for 8 days now and the horrible side effects have not gotten less. How long does it usually take for the side effects - anxiety, head aches, nausea - to go away. Is it possible that I can also have withdrawl symptoms form the Cilift. I am desperate to feel better and am concerned as I've been taking huge amounts of headache tablets and muscle relaxants to feel better. ## Yes, it's possible that what you're experiencing is a combination of stopping the Cilift and the side effects from the Nuzak. I have been on nuzak for about eight day's for anxiety. If anything i am worse. Can barely function or get out if bed.Should i persevere as i desperatly want some quality of life back. ## Hello, Juliet! How are you? Nuxak is list as containing the active ingredient Fluoxetine and it is normal for things to worsen for a few weeks, before it reaches its full level of efficacy in the body and starts alleviating such symptoms. I've found that it usually takes about 3 weeks. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. If things don't improve after a couple weeks, then you should consult your PCP as it may not be the right medication to help you. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi, I have been on Nuzak for ab...

Hi there, my doctor recently put me on Nuzak for depression however, i barely have an appetite and since I've been using it I struggle to focus and I have blurred visions and I cant handle been in crowded spaces. I was not like this before i was prescribed. I've also noticed that my sleeping patterns are not regular and when i do wake up, my heart is beating at a rather unusual rate. Any help on this one? ## It is possible that those are side effects of this medication, according to NIH reports. How long have you been taking it? You may also experience nausea, headache, dry mouth, and mood changes. Are you on any other medications? Has there been any change, yet? ## I am also using Nuzak and experiencing blurred vision and a very dry mouth. I use it together with urbanol 5mg.

Good day. I was put on Nuzak about a month ago. I went to the doctor for back pain, then she saw me shaking or shivering. I mentioned that this was in my family since my father has the same symptoms as me but now lately these symptoms have increased. I've been more shaky then ever and I'm starting to stutter which I never did or as a child had it. I'm beginning to think that this is just worsening the situation and that the DR scratched where it didn't concern her. I work on a daily basis with a lot of clients and this is embarrassing because now I seem incompetent as if I do not know my job or work. This week I stopped taking it and now I'm wondering how long it will take to fully clear out of my system? Please is anybody experiencing this or is it just something wr...

Other side effects may include nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, weight loss, and headache. However, there is also a chance that they are not due to the medication. How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're experiencing. The tiredness, appetite loss, weight loss and blurred vision can be normal side effects of this medication, as reported by the U.S. FDA. As to the energy drinks and supplements, those can also be normal effects of using them and, if they bother you, you should stop indulging in them, unless your doctor says otherwise. I'm on nuzak 20 for about 4 years now I found that it was not effective anymore so now I take one in he morning and one at bed time, I'm getting scared that this will end up very harmfull but I cannot control my temper without the nuzak since I started to take at bed time as well it's going better ## Hello, Leon! How are you? What dosage are you taking? It isn't harmful to take 2 doses a day, I am on the same medication and split mine up that way, as well, with my doctor's approval, because it gives me better control of the anxiety and OCD symptoms that I was experiencing from perimenopause. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and headache. The only usual concern would be if your doctor has told you not to do that...

Is it save to use 150gm Venlor in the morning and 20mg Nuzak at lunch time? ## can venlor cuase any mood problems in future and how long it take to kick in. ## Has your doctor instructed you to take both? They are both antidepressants, so you really should only need one, unless you have severe treatment resistant depression. They both have an effect on Serotonin, so taking both also risks your developing serotonin syndrome. And Sorro, it should not cause any permanent issues and it may take about 4 to 6 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have used nuzak for a few years. My doctor( I have switched doctors) has put me on venlor 150mg. I feel nauseous, sk...

I was on 10mg of Nuzak a day for about two years. I was also on Yaz. I stopped using both similtaneously. I did read up on symptoms that occur so I was prepared for it but I'm beginning to wonder how long they last for? The most annoying is the "brain-shocks". I've been off both medications now for about 3 weeks, but this week the "brainshocks" have actually become more frequent?! I don't feel myself at all. I have this general feeling of being unwell and tired. When is it going to stop? ## The 'brainshocks' are most likely from stopping the Nuzak, since it contains Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI antidepressant. Learn more Nuzak details here. And though the withdrawal effects tend to gradually taper off, it may take over a month for you to really start ...

Hi there - i am a 26 year old female i and have been on 20mg Nuzak for almost 2 months now to treat anxiety and depression - my doc has said i could up my dose and start taking 40mg a day, however i am scared that i will suffer the side effects again as i am 100% fine on them now with no side effects. Will i suffer the side effects all over again if i up my dose or will they be more or less stable as Nuzak is already in my system? Also how do i know if i need to increase my dose or not? i know 20mg is a very low dose - will it still be effective over time or do i need to increase my dose..thank you ## Hello, Caz! How are you? I've been on Nuzak for 4 months now and stopped using it about 5 days ago. Last night I had this pain between my breasts and my gums, can it be a side effect? Otherwise I feel fine. ## Hello, Mandy! How are you? Where was the pain located? Your breast and gums are quite far apart. Did you mean chest pain or mouth pain? If you stopped taking it suddenly, then yes you may experience withdrawal effects, but if you're having chest pain, you need to have that checked out as soon as possible.

I have been taking Nuzak for years and years ago I weaned myself to 1 a day. How do I stop completely? I am 67 years old ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? Why are you stopping it? Is your doctor aware that you are doing so? This is an SSRI antidepressant, so it is best to stop it as gradually as possible, to avoid severe rebound effects. What dose are you currently taking? ## 20mg a day

Hi, I'm Jeremy from South Africa, I was diagnosed with Clinical Depressive Disorder, and my doctor put me on Nuzak 20mg for the past month. I think 2 weeks into the month, seeing that my sleeping patterns, paranoia and anxiety levels weren't norming he put me on Dopaquel 25mg (to increase dosage every 7 days till 200mg, I'm currently on 100mg ). I've been on both now for quite some time now but my only concern is I've gotten to a level where I think I've built a tollerence for both these drugs and no longer feel the effects them (cause my sleeping patterns have decreased once more). I'm too concerned about this, what advice can I kindly get? ## What time period do you consider as being on them for quite some time? It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks for both ...

Hey ive been put on nuzak 20mg a day after the birth of my daughter. Reason y I got that and not something stronger, was because I was still breastfeeding. Im starting to loose control now, as a lot has happened in my life... can nuzak be to weak for me now? Should I get something else and what? ## Hello, Thaaki! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems that you're having. The dosage of the Nuzak could be raised to enable it to start helping you, again. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and weight loss. Is there anything else I can help with?

I went off nuzak but at the same time changed from Eltroxin to Diotroxin. In that change I have been putting on weight and my stomach feeling uncomfortable and bloated constantly. Would it be from the Diotroxin that I'm now on and isn't working for me? Or possibly coming off the Nuzak? I'm thinking about going back to Eltroxin but not sure which could be the cause. ## Such symptoms would most likely be due to starting a new medication, those aren't things that are normally caused by stopping one. Diotroxin contains Levothyroxine and Liothyronine and these types of medications are well known to cause weight gain and GI upsets, such as what you're experiencing. These side effects should start to taper off in about 4 to 6 weeks, as your body adjusts to the medication. A...

I have being taking Nuzak for about 3 weeks now. I have not experienced any severe side effects. I am sleeping better and not feeling like I can't cope with everything. However, I have put on about 3kgs even though I have cut down on my carb intake, Is weight gain a side effect of Nazuk. ## No, that is not a typical side effect of Fluoxetine, that active ingredient in Nuzak, according to NIH reports. It is most commonly known to maintain weight, or to cause weight loss, well as nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and dry mouth. You said you have cut down your carbs, but they are not always the cause of weight gain. What types of foods do you usually eat? Are you on any other medications? Do you partake in a low fat diet?
