Upping Nuzak Dose
UpdatedHi there - i am a 26 year old female i and have been on 20mg Nuzak for almost 2 months now to treat anxiety and depression - my doc has said i could up my dose and start taking 40mg a day, however i am scared that i will suffer the side effects again as i am 100% fine on them now with no side effects. Will i suffer the side effects all over again if i up my dose or will they be more or less stable as Nuzak is already in my system? Also how do i know if i need to increase my dose or not? i know 20mg is a very low dose - will it still be effective over time or do i need to increase my dose..thank you

Hello, Caz! How are you?
Yes, if you increase your dose, you will likely experience side effects, again, which the U.S. FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, anxiety and weight changes.
How much is it helping you? If you are feeling stable, then there is no need to raise your dose, however, if you are feeling anxiety and depression, then you may need to raise your dose, as your doctor instructed.
Hi there thank you for your reply .. i have started taking the 40mg now for about a month now and so far i am suffering the side effects you listed earlier, i was feeling it was helping being on the 20mg but i noticed i started to get used to the 20mg and i started to feel even more depressed again and irritable so i decided to up my dose to 40mg. I really hope that the side effects are worth it and i can start to feel normal again. The depression and anxiety is at its worst now. i will keep with the 40mg for three months and see how i feel there after.
