Sucrets Cough Control Formula Dextromethorphan

Dextromethorphan, often referred to as DXM, is a medication most often used as a cough suppressant in over-the-counter cold and cough medicines. It is sold in syrup, tablet, spray, and lozenge forms. It is in the morphinan class of medications with sedative, dissociative, and stimulant properties (at lower doses). Dextromethorphan does not have a significant affinity for the mu-opioid receptor activity typical of morphinan compounds and exerts its therapeutic effects through several other rec...

I've been on Humira for one year with no serious side effects. Six months ago, I was on a series of antibiotics for almost a month for sinusitis and cough related to that. Since then, I have these huge coughing fits that end with me gagging to get control. Although I have never had allergies, this week has hit me with the classic signs of watering eyes, coughing and runny nose. Has anyone had these types of problems on Humira? ## Hello, Gigi! How are you? Those are listed as possible side effects of Humira, according to the FDA. You may also experience insomnia, agitation, wrinkled skin and shallow breathing. Has anyone else that's been on it experienced such side effects?

Dilaudid cough syrup in the USA and Canada is a scheduled II controlled drug as it has 1 mg of hydromorohone per 5ml of cough solution .. It never was over the counter in the last 50+ yrs... You may be confused with some Meds like robitussin AC which has only 10mg of CODIENE in it per 30ml of syrup and thus is a controlled 5 script and you can sign for it at some states pharmacy counter!! ## I'm not sure who suggested otherwise to you, but Dilaudid Cough Syrup (guaifenesin + hydromorphone) is definitely regarded as a controlled substance - available by prescription-only. Perhaps other countries are more liberal about its presence over the counter, due to the guaifenesin, but at least here in the US it requires a doctor's script (probably because of dilaudid's high potential ...

Just learned that the chronic cough I've had for two years might be caused by this med. What would be the alternative Rx? ## Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Lisinopril. I personally used to have severe hypertension for a number of years, but was able to control it by controlling more of my eating habits and exercising. What works for me may not work for everyone, but my initial advice is to look into natural ways (before prescription alternatives) such as: Low/no sodium foods to help reduce inflammation and water retention, supplementation of garlic, as well as having a diet that is rich in potassium and magnesium. Other dietary and non dietary options for lowering blood pressure can include (but are not limited to): L-Theanine Magnesium Glycinate Coenzyme Q10 Garlic Ha...

1 year on Lisinopril: Coughing so bad I vomit. Weezing so loud I wake my self up. Rash so bad i bleed from itching. Leg cramps. Lips numb. Doctor wont listen. So I took my self off this medication. Rash is clearing up. Cough is better. Taking an aspirin a day and no salt, loosing weight to control BP till I find a new doc. Stay away from this Medication. Horrific year of horrific side effects!!!! ## Hello, Doll! How are you? I'm sorry about what you've experienced. Wow! That's horrible! I also had a very bad experience with Lisinopril and my doctor listed it among my allergies to make sure no one prescribes it for me, again. Those can be side effects of it, as reported by the FDA, along with nausea, headache, increased urination and hypotension. What type of doctor were you ...

Can Trazadone be used to treat a chronic cough like amitriptyline? ## Based on my research Trazodone is indicated for: Clinical depression with or without anxiety. Insomnia, Fibromyalgia, to aid in sleeping. Control of nightmares or other sleep disturbances. Amitriptyline can also be used as a sleeping aid in small doses. I did not know either of them had an off label use for chronic cough? correct me if I'm wrong, but I personally haven't seen anything stating otherwise. That said, I don't think it is specifically indicated to help with coughing; but if you personally find that it has been working for you then I'd advise you to contact your doctor who prescribed it, to give you the OK to continue using it for that. To view detailed information about Trazodone, please cl...

After two weeks of taking Chlorthalidone I have a maddening cough, yet my lungs are clear. Anyone else experience this? ## That can be a side effect of most medications used to help control blood pressure, cardiac conditions, or remove excess fluid from the body, according to FDA reports. The problem, however, is that once the cough starts, it doesn't usually go away, so you may need to try a different medication. I experienced it from Lisinopril and had to switch to a different medication. Have you informed your doctor? Are you on any other medications? ## I have been on chlorthalidone for 3 weeks. My cough is driving me nuts. I will stop taking it this weekend and call my cardiologist Monday.

Since starting coveram 10/10, I have developed a dry cough and lower leg and ankle edema. The cough is disrupting my sleep and the edema is uncomfortable and interfering with shoe comfort. I have been on this medication for 3 months. My BP is wonderfully controlled, hate the thought of having to change medication. ## Hello, Sue! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the side effects that you're experiencing. But yes, you'll need to change medications. The dry cough is a side effect that doesn't stop, once it's started and the edema has the potential to be dangerous. Have you tried any other medications or is this the first? ## I was taking Coveram for about 2 1/2 weeks but developed a persistent dry cough and some ankle swelling. Changed medications at that point. How...

How can I locate pharmacies in the Los Angeles, Southern California area that carries Phenergan (Promethazine) with Codeine Cough Syrup manufactured by Actavis? ## There is really no way of knowing which pharmacy is going to have any particular manufacturer's product in stock, because when it comes to generics, it can vary, depending on what company was offering the cheapest price, when they had to restock their supply. The only thing I can really suggest is going to the pharmacies and asking them. Since this contains Codeine, you'll likely not get an accurate answer, if you just call and ask. Due to the risk of theft, many of them will just tell anyone that calls that they do not carry controlled substances. They have no way of knowing if the person on the phone is actually a l...

prescribed by Dr ## what are the side effects of this med and how does it affect birth control ## Ive taken this medication for UTI. This medication caused me alot of health pulmonary complications such as bronchitis, shortness of breathe, coughing, wheezing and fever. ## @deldre, Based on my research, the antibiotic Nitrofurantoin is used to treat various types of infections. BID means it is supposed to be taken twice daily. According to healthtap.com you should use a back-up method of birth control (ie. condom)while taking Nitrofurantoin. Even though there is little evidence supporting a massive increase in pregnancies with antibiotic use, it is better to be safe than sorry. Use the back-up method during the run of your antibiotic and continue for one week Common side effects may incl...

My 13 pound dog takes 1/2 of a 5mg/1.5mg hydrocodone pill every 8 hours to control coughing. However, in taking her other pills, I accidentally included another 1/2 of a 5mg/1.5mg after she had one 4 hours ago. Is this cause for the panic and alarm I'm feeling? ## You should call your vet and tell them what happened, they will be best able to asses whether or not there is any danger to your dog, and if possible treatment is required. While we love dogs, and have two small pups ourselves, I am nowhere near as knowledgeable about the use of medication in canines as I am about medication usage in people, unfortunately. I do, however, know that it can cause some of the same side effects, and overdose effects in dogs, that it does in humans, so you should watch for severe lethargy, drows...

I have been taking Nebivolol 2.5 mg for 10 years to control hypertension. Can it cause cough which is persisting despite treatment. My physician says beta blockers at times cause chronic cough which goes if this medication is stopped and alternative medication taken for high BP. Is this true should I stop it to try out this hypothesis. Also more important can it be suddenly stopped or tapered off over a period to avoid a rebound after the body is used it over such a long period. Early advice will be appreciated.

My nephrologist took me of of losartan because i take lisinopril with it and he said new studies have showed that it's not beneficial or not safe, he didn't really explain it to me but that appointment was on 7-11-14 ## Hello, Jack! How are you? Yes, they tend to increase the toxicity of each other, which can be risky, in some cases. Thus, it would be best to follow your doctor's advice. Normal side effects to Lisinopril may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and dry cough. Is there anything else I can help with? ## DID HE TAPER OFF LOSARTAN? ## How long does it take losartan to get out of your system, so it would be safe to start back on my lisinopril. I'm in the process of switching from Oxycontin to xtampza er (insurance company forcing me to change) and I have experienced some issues with effectiveness. I've taken Oxycontin for about 15+ years as well as fast acting oxycodone. Now that I am taking xtampza when I need to take the fast acting oxy I'm experiencing itching and stinging sensations as well as a mild cough as if I'm having an allergic reaction; in particular around my eyes and mouth. I take the xtampza with food but I don't know how much food and of what kind will work best. I have been on a roller coaster ride of poor pain control now for 6 weeks and I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar issues? Taking this drug since last 40 days to control dust allergy. Side effects since last few days - mild headache, breathlessness at times. Are these symptoms harmful. ## The odd thing is that this medication is indicated to prevent difficulty breathing, chest tightness, wheezing and coughing caused by asthma or allergies; however it does have difficulty breathing or swallowing listed as a side effect, which kind of contradicts its purpose in my opinion. Information in the article linked below, shows that headaches are a symptom related to overdosing: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000003/#a600014-sideEffects I wouldn't necessarily call either of these side effects "harmful", unless it really does hurt you; but more so discomforting, undesirable, or bothersome.
