I found some tablets in the back of my son's sock draw and i really would like to know what it is and the harm it can cause? ## I think its a sleeping tablet, but am not sure. ## If it has PN25 it’s Phenergan/Promethazine, an antihistamine. If plain blue, it could be Valium. ## Patsy is correct, a tablet with the PN 25 marking is a 25mg Phenergan tablet which contains the active ingredient Promethazine, it is most commonly used to treat, or prevent nausea, and vomiting. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What is the typical dose of these blue tablets with pn 25 imprinted on them? Are they available over the counter?

## can i take phenergan for nausea if I am a diabetic? ## Phenergan contains the active ingredient Promethazine, and there is a risk of it interfering with blood glucose control, and it can reduce the effectiveness of Metformin for those taking it. This doesn't mean that you can't take Phenergan, but you should do so only with your doctor's approval, because you may need to adjust the dose of your diabetic medications while taking it. Ref: Medline Plus Phenergan & MayoClinic Promethazine warnings Are you on any other medications?

I have been throwing up for over 20 years and it recently became a serious issue because of all the changes due to drug abuse. I had been taking 75 mg of Phenergan 3 times a day. I was maintaining my weight and was living a rather normal day, only throwing up every couple of days. A year ago they took me off of it and I was 160 lbs... I now weigh 91 lbs and am continuing to lose weight. I am having trouble holding down even my seizure medicines!!! They did start giving me some again after I got down to 96 lbs, however, I am still losing weight. I have been as low as 89 lbs. I am only prescribed 12.5mg three times a day! Which isn't even half of one dose!! I am scared I will be dead before they find a cure or give me... I have tried all kinds of other medicine and herbal. I even thro...

So I was given this pill marked "S-521" by a family member and was under the impression it was Promethazine (Phenergan) but when I looked it up it showed up as Cetirizine?! So is it not for nausea? Just a little confused that's all. ## Yes, that is correct, is contains 10mgs of Cetirizine. NDC: 16714-0271 Since it is an antihistamine, it might help with nausea, as most of them do, but this one is not specifically used to treat/prevent nausea. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and drowsiness. Inactive ingredients may include: Corn Starch Lactose Monohydrate Povidone K29/32 Magnesium Stearate Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello. I have been prescribed Phenergan via IV PICC line for nausea in combination with Zofran IV as well. Do these meds work well together? I do seem to be having side effects of blurred vision, itching and some abnormal feeling in my legs that makes me feel as if I must move or get up and walk. Is this a side effect or just something else going on? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there is a dangerously high interaction potential between the active ingredients in Phenergan (promethazine) and Zofran (ondansetron); which states that taking the two together may cause serious problems with your heart. Further details suggest that if these two medications are necessary, your doctor may adjust the dosage, timing and/or frequency of...

Does Phenergan with codeine contain any form of soy as an inactive ingredient? ## Hi Linda, Based on my research, Phenergan + Codeine (manufactured by Actavis) does not appear to contain any type of soy or soy derivatives. So you should be fine in that regard. For your own verification, this particular medication contains the following list of inactive ingredients: D&C Red #33, FD&C Blue #1, Citric acid, corn syrup, flavor, propylene glycol, saccharin sodium, propylparaben, methylparaben, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, and purified water.
