Hello my doctor just changed me from taking up to 6 Hydrocodon 10/325 to Morohine 15 mg time release tablet . should I see a big change as far as side affects ? ## It is the weakest morphine pill out there if you are takeing for pain it's better than norco I had my doc lower my doce to 1 15 mg morphine and I Get oxycodone 4 each a day. At one time I was at 120 mg morphing and2 30 mg oxycodone after a while they stop working so I came down on my own you get a tolerance fast I do 150 mg oxycodone when back is real bad even after a year it only helps some . Hello, I have an appointment coming up with PM Dr in a week. I am currently taking the morphine ER, 30mg twice daily, along with 4 10mg oxycodone per day as needed. .my questions are..is hydromorphone ER better vs the morphine ER in terms of pain control and how long it lasts in the body? I have very recently started to take these kinds of MEDS again and am trying to find something that works and I can afford. ..I know, good luck, right? I have had 2 back surgeries 4 cages and a plate in its been 12 years since its done and i cannot function well at all i take oxy 30 3 x a day one methodone 10 and at bedtime 1 morphine 10 i want to get to a point where my pain level is not up and down i just started methodone this month can you tell me will they all work well together i am at the end of my rope thanks birdlady ## Have all of these medications been prescribed for you? I just went to a new pain dr. For 8 years I was on OxyContin 30mg. My insurance wouldn't pay so I was switched to 30 mg ms continue er. This worked fine. All with 5/325 Hydrocodone up to 4 daily for breakthrough. Within the last four months the old Doctor switched to 30mg IRR without telling me why the change. I think just mixed up. Actually it worked basically the same with the breakthrough meds. Now new doc changed to MS Contin er generic with same amount of breakthrough melds. I am in a confusing debate with my ex husband: Which is stronger, 30 mg of morphine sulfate E.R or 10 mg of methadone? ## Methadone is stronger than Morphine, just as an example, if you were taking the 30mgs of Morphine, the equivalent dosage of Methadone would only be 3mgs, so it's a roughly 1mg to 10mg ratio. I have been on 30 mg morphine ir tablets two tablets every 6 hours and I'm always in pain. When I try to wean off it's crazy, I get jittery nausea, diarrhea, anxious and much more. I have been on it for over 14 years and now nothing else seems to work. My body is immune! And my DR won't give me nothing else. I get it for migraines and back pain!

I was taking 60mg of morphine sulfate from Rhodes. The pharmacy said they didn't come in and gave me the Actavis brand instead. They do not work for my pain at all and give me horrible stomach pains! I have just been prescribed Oxycontin along with Morphine sulfate immediate release (80 mg of oxy, 1 tab 2x a day, 30 mg of morphine ir) for severe nerve damage to my left leg. I have started to become nauseated, is this due to the combo of both? I take them at separate times a day as prescribed. I have been on msir for 1 1/2 years, but a weaker dose. ## It is actually more than likely due to the higher dose of the Morphine. Unfortunately, while also working so well on the pain receptors of the brain, morphine also acts on the receptors that trigger nausea and vomiting. I went through the same thing myself when I switched from Oxycontin to MS Contin. It will take a few weeks, but it will eventually wear off. However, you can expect to experience this anytime you alter your dosage again....

I know Fentanyl is supposed to be stronger than Morphine however it does not help me nearly as much! I wish so bad that I could go back to MS Contin TR 100 mg three times a day with Morphine Instant 30 my PRN for break through pain. That worked so much better than Dilaudid or Fentanyl to me but I had to change doctors and now I can't get what works best! This leaves me in bed 90 % of the time! This SUCKS!!! Started morphine pills for back pain 30 mg I took it at 9 p.m. It didn't kick in until 12:15...3 hours for reaction? As well, really strong as far as that feeling of "tightness" throughout neck arms etc. Instead of pain relief & anility to sleep, I feel the need to stay awake and monitor breathing.
