Hi, I am an Indian, age 78, 5'7" in height and weigh 60 kg. I'm a vegan, I do yoga and light exercise. All parameters pathological test reports normal except that I've been on high blood pressure medicine for over 20yrs. Previously I was taking atenolol 50mg and amlodipine 5mg, whereas my blood pressure was quite controlled. About 4 years back symptoms of Afib developed. Doc prescribed telma CT 40/6.25mg, metoprolol 50 + cilacar 10 and xeralto 20 in the morning and telma 40 in the evening. My BP still ranges around 150/95, no improvement in Afib - which repeats every month or so. Is it not a case of being over-medicated? Can I go back to just taking amlodipine? How do I get rid of Afib? Are there any changes you can suggest? ## It is really hard to say, and it would be b...

The pain management Dr I have been going to for the past 3 yrs just released me from his practice with some bs excuse now I need to find another Dr that will write my scripts. I was only on 120 30mg oxycodone a month just enough to help me go to work and support my family and then be blessed to spend time with my family after working and not be in a ton of pain. Can anyone refer me to a new Dr that doesn't have a problem writing this same script near the South Philly or jersey area

Anyone going to a good pain doctor in Memphis that is taking new patients. I am on disability and my wife and I both have r.a. The Dr. we have been seeing for over 10 years has cut our pain meds. If we need something stronger he said find a pain management Dr. He now wants to cut out our pain meds all together. Help please this is such a painful and depressing desease. ## I'm sorry that you're having such problems. New regulations have been put in place at the start of the year that are discouraging general practitioners and surgeons from prescribing pain medications for long-term use, due to the risk of improper prescribing and over prescribing, since they haven't been specially trained at managing pain. Did you try asking him for a referral? That often makes it easier to g...

I had a full cadivor ACL replacement also during that surgery they tried to repair my lateral meniscus which was also torn during the accident as well. Unfortuanetly during the follow year at the beginning of football camp I was dropping back in coverage and tore my lateral meniscus again. I had a previous doctor in which I was perscribe 15mg oxycodone; however, something happen I guess and the guy just disapeared off the face...

I am HIV+ and i'm pregnant. I just want to know if it's safe for me to use ILVITRIM, and what is the difference between ILVITRIM and BACTRIM? ## The medications are the same, just different brand names from different manufacturers. You should take it, if your doctor has instructed you to do so. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Congratulations on the baby! When are you due?

As many as you are prescribed. If this doesn't work you should discuss with your PCP and possibly change to oxycodone 5/325. Even though the amount of aspirin (325mg) is lower than others too much can have adverse effects on your liver and kidneys. That is more to worry about for sure. ## Hi CR, Thanks for the sound advice! I agree with your perception of what might be the next step up from hydrocodone prescriptions; and also the concern of "acetaminophen" toxicity (I'm assuming you meant to say that instead of aspirin - as to my knowledge I don't think they make combinations of aspirin [acetylsalicylic acid] with pain meds), is that correct? Something else that may be worth noting is that oxycodone 5mg is available without acetaminophen as well, so you can easily av...

How are you doing? Sorry about the problems that you're having. No, there is no such site and it wouldn't really help, if there was, because which one works can differ from person to person. For instance, I had great results with ones manufactured by Mallinckrodt. And even if you knew more about the other manufacturers, while y...

Thirty mg morphine equals how many mg oxycodone? ## i have taken both within the last couple of months… i wouldn't say they are "equivalent" or use the word "equal" per se - but in my experience, they are interchangeable, & the doctor who prescribed both of them had prescribed 30mg of oxycodone and 30mg of morphine…. and i used them at the same dose and frequency…. imo, they are pretty similar… although the morphine is more sedating than the oxycodone….. ## Hi Jerry, According to an equianalgesic (opioid) chart from Stanford, Oxycodone is said to be about 1 1/2 times more potent than Morphine on a milligram to milligram basis. They conclude that 120 mg of oral Oxycodone is similar to taking 180 mg of oral Morphine. However, this is n...

hi, my sister has neck pain and abdominal pain from interstitial cystitis and lesions due to endometriosis surgery. She has been on Xodol for many years. Recently she switched to Heath Partners insurance after losing her job due to her inability to work. They will no longer cover the Xodol, which she desperately needs. Health Partners may cover it is a doctor can make a good case, but her current doctor seems to be very disorganized and unable to fill out the necessary paperwork. So I'm looking for a recommendation of a doctor who takes Health Partners, who goes out of his/her way for patients, who might be familiar with pain due to many different causes, and who is familiar with interstitial cystitis and celiac disease. Due to issues stemming from her childhood cancer treatments, t...

Does Eli Lilly still make diskette methadone ? It was the only methadone that truly helped my addiction. ## lily doesn't make it anymore. Now you get methadose which isn't as strong. Once we were switched from lily to the methadose, everyone went up in dosage. Highest used to be 100mgs but now you can go to 300mgs and yet they tell us both have the same strenght ## I guess I'm only an addict - so my problem with METHADOSE will just die right here ! ## Are you still alive? It is now 2012, and you have not posted for 3 years. What gives?

My daughter has prescription Penicillin 500mg for every 6 hours after wisdom teeth removal. How many times/day does she to take? Are the intervals for awake times only or for 24 hrs? ## Hi Cindy! If your daughter is prescribed to take every 6 hours, she needs to take 4 pills a day. Sometimes, you need to wake up during the night to take them. Or, maybe try 6:00am, 12:00 noon, 6:00pm and midnight. That might work. ## Thank you Cats68 for your reply.
