A doctor had me on 30 mgs of oxycodone two every three hrs.I have been on this med for more than 14 years and the reason he kept me on this like he did was thast i couldnt afford the long acting.First was it wrong for him to do and if so exactly why and second what are we going to do about the war on doctors and what can a person do to get the help they need.Im not a drug and i am on per disability for real health problems but its a forest trying to get help nopw days, any suggetions. ## It isn't wrong for a doctor to try to help with your pain to the best of his ability and in a manner that you agree with. Everyone's tolerance to medications can vary, so what's used, the dosage and frequency have to be individualized. As to the other issue, your best bet to get the help you ...

It's manufactured by KVK Tech and contains 20mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation, so it's a generic for Roxicodone. Learn more Oxycodone details here. if i ad 1000 mgs of tylenol to my 15mg oxycodone will i get longer pain relief??more hours? ## If your doctor approves, it is only necessary to add a regular dose of Tylenol/Acetaminophen of 325mgs. It can help augment the action of Opiates for some people. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## You also need to remember tylenol can be toxic to the liver and you should be closely monitoring tylenol daily intake. Most sites say 3000mg a day is,safe but that's not for long term use, short term pain relief only. My pain dr says it's more like 2000 for chronic patients on these med's for years and still could ...

I have been doing this for about 8-10 months now. I rarely feel a euphoria, but it gives me motivation to do things. Without it I don't feel like doing anything. I am on anti-depressants and other medications. My depression is TRD (treatment resistant depression). I also have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and for the past 3 months, I sound like I have a clothes pin on my nose. My breathing is not good. I feel I am psychologically addicted, because I stopped it for two weeks and had no problems. I can go into a rehab because I live with family and was in recovery for alcohol and drugs. I was told if I ever did anything at all even once I would get kicked out. I'm now getting scared. Could someone scare me even more so I might get a better idea of the damage I am doing to ...

Blue and gray capsule with a thick gray line and thin gray line on blue and gray sides..is this oxycodone and if so how many mgs ## Hello, Tehnika! How are you? Are there any markings on it? If not, then it is not any type of prescription medication. Additionally, the only Oxycodone capsule available is a 5mg capsule, which has markings on it. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If there are no markings, it is most likely something that's available over the counter/ I'll keep looking and post back, when I have information for you. Does anyone else recognize this capsule?

I take 60 mgs of oxydone 2x day..dr recently added 10 mg opana er...omg...he sd its stronger...it will help you. ..bull sh#@! Its like candy only no happy ending....it doesn't even take away withdrawals! What should i do!???? ## No, 10mgs of Opana is only equivalent to 20mgs of Oxycodone, so it is not stronger in this dosage. You'd need 30mgs of it to be equivalent to each 60mgs of Oxycodone that you were taking. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you informed your doctor? You may need the dosage adjusted.

Ran out of my prescription for oxycodone 30mg and need to find a new doctor. ## Hello, Alberto! How are you? There is no such thing as an Oxycodone clinic. In order to be prescribed such a medication, you'll need to see a pain management specialist and establish a regular medical relationship with them. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in the area? ## I am in the Bronx Ny and need a doctor who will write me a script for oxycodone 30 mgs. I've been taking 15mg of Percocet with Tylenol in them for a year. My dr just gave me a 20mg dose without the Tylenol, but it doesn't seem to be working as well. Why is that? ## The ONLY difference in the two pills is the Tylenol, and 1 of the pills (oxy 20) has 5 mgs more than the Percocet 15? I put the ? Because I NEVER heard of a Percocet 15; only 10, 20 and Percocet 30. Never the less, oxycodone is the narcotic in both pills, and oxycodone is oxycodone. IT'S THE SAME THING BABY! ## The Acetaminophen does enhance the action of the narcotic in some people that take it, so you might be one of those people who get better pain relief if it accompanies the opiate. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nau...

It seems like this time of year every year pain management Patience have the same problem getting this script filled. Why? Is it the DEA like some Pharmacy's have said or is it the manufactures, or another answer? I have seen the same Pain Management Dr. since 2005 and for the last 3 or 4 yrs. it has been the same. ## I'm sorry, but unfortunately, I don't have an answer for you. We have had quiet a few posts from people that are having problems getting their prescriptions filled, however, the FDA information does not list any shortages, or other problems with the supply. Does anyone else have any information on this?

I have weened down to 2mg oxycodone every 6 hours how bad will I feel when I stop in a few days ## At that low of a dose, the withdrawal and rebound effects should be minimal, but much of it really depends on your body and how it reacts. How long have you been down to this low of a dosage? Have you consulted your doctor for assistance? The rebound type effects usually involve pain that may be worse than the pain you were taking it to treat and the withdrawal effects can include nausea, dizziness and diarrhea. ## I have taken oxycodone 20-30mgs daily for 3 months. I took 15 mgs for 3 days, I took 5 mgs this am. My question is I want to maintain the 5 mgs for 5-6 days and then come off. How bad will the withdrawals be ## Looking for a dr. is 3,15 mgs if oxycodone IRR equal to 110 mgs of methadone? I want to go back to taking my pain meds I am currently on 110 mgs of methadone I get 3, 15 mgs oxycodone IRR and I also get 3, 30 mgs of morphine extended release will my pain pills get me through and when should I start my pain pills should i do it the day after i take my last dose of methadone? ## Hi Lilly, Wether or not you can find an equivalent dose between these two medications, they are still going to effect you in different ways because they are two different drugs. An equivalent dose for you may be an overdose for someone else based on their tolerance and severity of the pain or vice versa. You should speak with your doctor about getting on a regular dosing schedule because he/she will better understand your individua...

I'm a cronic pain patient going on 10 Years. I have had multiple surgeries on my lower back. I have been prescribed Oxycodone 30mgs up to as many as #240 a month -As low as #90 a month depending on which Dr. I was seeing at the time. This has been extended over a 5 yr period. I do not misuse, sell, give or abuse my medication In any way. I work a very labor intensive job with heavy machinery daily and have found other drugs such as: fentynal duragesic patches, morphine, dilaudid, methadone and Opana to greatly reduce awareness and complicate an already complicated job due to side effects. Now, I'm on Morphine #120 mgs a day.. both immediate and long acting release.. and can't function due to drowsiness and a "head in the clouds " type of feeling. At work, I have notice...

oxycodone 300 acetomeniphen 5 had 2 doses already, nothing how long does it take to relieve pain ## Dear Jo, it usually works in about 15-20 minutes, but, could take a little longer 2 feel full effects. Is this the first time on pain meds? If not, u may have a tolerance and need something stronger, or, a higher Mgs. Or the pain is that bad. GOOD LUCK! ## Hello, Jo! How are you doing? Did you experience any pain relief? I just wanted to point out that you have the dosages mixed up, the higher number refers to the amount of Acetaminophen in this and the lower number, 5 is the amount of Oxycodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Hi Jo Just saw your pos...

I am taking 30 mgs. Oxycodone up to 3 pills per day for severe back pain. Years ago I was on Oxycontin and don't remember the mgs. What is the difference between these two medications. I believe Oxycontin is stronger if they are the same dosage, is that correct? ## Hello, Candy! How are you? Oxycodone is the active ingredient in Oxycontin, it's just in a time released formulation that's designed to slowly release the medication over a period of 12 hours. So no, neither is stronger. It's just that the regular Oxycodone that you're taking now is released all at once, within 15 to 20 minutes of your taking it. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else ...

What is equal in mgs? I have been prescribed a 60 mg. of OxyCotin ER. Now the dr. is suggesting I use 30 mgs. of Morphine Sul ER. Can you give me the mgs. that equals the 60 mg.OxyCotin ER . What would the mg. difference be to get the same pain relieving results? It's not the dr.; it's the drug plan I have that is now demanding this be changed. Awaiting your comments! Eva ## Hello, Eva! How are you? Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so you'd actually need 90mgs of the Morphine to equal the same analgesic effect of 60mgs of Oxycontin. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have been taking 15 mgs of oxycodone 5 times a day for 4 yrs, but they stopped working. Then I was taking dilaudid with 15 mg oxycodone. Still no help. Now I am taking Embeda 30-1.2 twice daily and Norco 10-325 4 times a day. Still in pain. What should I do? ## The next step is most likely Fentanyl, it is the most opiate available, it is in a patch form that is usually effective for 48 to 72 hours. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It is something you can discuss with your doctor, anyway, to see if it is a viable option for you. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I use to be on the fentanyl patch. All narcotics have central nervous system effects, which is in part responsible for their mode of action. It will effect people differently but yes it can make you feel drowsy or tired. Valium on it's own possesses anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, hypnotic, sedative, skeletal muscle relaxant, and amnestic properties that can make you feel tired.
