I'd like to discuss Embeda experiences with others. ## I have used Morphine, before, but not this formulation with the Naltrexone. What would you like to know? The reason the Naltrexone is included is to prevent abuse of other narcotics while using this medication. The Morphine itself is a very potent narcotic analgesic. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Read more: Does anyone that's used this have anything to add? ## Your information is incorrect - the naltrexone is not added "to prevent abuse of other narcotics, while using this medication". The naltrexone has no action unless the product is broken down first. ## I was on ms contin for 15 yrs and the doc decided to take me off and put me on oxycontin 40 mg 2x a day plus cu...

My husband has been taking Embeda for about a week now. Every time he sits up he gets too dizzy like he passes out for about a second and falls back on the bed. Also happens when he lays down from sitting up, he gets really dizzy. ## Hello, Elaine! How is your husband doing? Has there been any change? This medication can cause severe dizziness in some people. What dosage is he currently taking? However, as reported by the FDA, it can also cause orthostatic hypotension as a side effect, that's when your blood pressure drops, when you move suddenly and it sounds like that might be what he's experiencing. Has he consulted his doctor? He needs to have this checked out as it may not be the right medication for him to take, passing out like that could be dangerous. ## Hi Verwon. I am ...

I am in east tn and have been going to the same doc for over two yrs. recently the PA quick and have gone through 3 new ones in two months. I asked to be taken off my morphine 30 mg 3x a day to try something else since i have been on it for a long time. The new PA put me on oxycontin 40 mg twice a day and took away one of my percs from 4 to 3. Well to start with they put me on the 20 mg dose which was not even equivelent to what i was on and i had to go back and i found that the oxycontin was not helping me anymore that the morphine so i asked to be put back on it and i told her the xtra perc i get in the middle of the night helps me and when she cut me back i was having a hard time. So she put me back on 4 percs a day but with the embeda. I went to take it to be filled and they had to ...

My pain doc started me on embeda 80 last month. Before then I had seen a couple of other doctors. (My pain doc quit taking my ins) I couldn't find another doc for my ins so I went back and paid cash. Last I saw him was Dec 2015. Up until last month I had been going to reg doc to try to keep withdrawal off. I had been on ms coin 60 mg 3x day down to a frigging Norco 10. I went back last month (June 2016 and he put me on embeda 80 2x day. Works wonderfully! I called for my refill and his nurse said I had several different narcotics in me which I know better. I had to take a Norco yesterday (ran out embeda) and today I took a percocet. I see him tomorrow and I'm worried. I had 13 teeth pulled Fri and she wrote me the Norco. Will the perk show up different than embeda on a urine tes...

My sister came here from another state and is taking Embeda. She now wants to get more meds, and shows she is unable to be accountable, taking all of her meds within a 10 day window instead of her prescribed 30 days. She is on two other short-acting opioids but doesn't want or care to know that any opioid has eventually a high tolerance level. I know this because I am on Fentanyl transdermal and Morphine IR. This eventually does happen no matter who you are and has happened to me. I just have a provider who changes my immediate release meds up six months. This prevents me from totally get accustomed to the med and I have complete pain breakdowns. What can I do to help my sister? Anything? She moved a week ago from Florida to Utah. Four years ago my mother passed away. My mother at t...

I don't like the morphine. My opana worked wonderfully but of course now I can't take it because of those who are abusing it. My dr has been cracked down on about U/A's that come back positive for anything (mine was marijuana) and he won't refill my script until I pass the U/A next week. My question is, how can a dr just take you off a big drug and leave you to go through severe withdrawals? My worst symptom is the migraines. I've had one for 7 straight days and can't sleep or even eat. I have diarrhea all the time and don't feel good in general. ## You're not alone. I've been on methadone for many years and due to insurance issues my Dr has had to switch me to Embeda. I tried morphine by itself several years ago and I know I don't do well on it. ...

My embeda fell into water. I dried as much of it as I could and left it on a paper towel to dry. Is it safe to take? The capsules don't look like they've been in water. ## If it was just plain water, that won't make it dangerous, but some of it may have dissolved, already, so it may not be as effective. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. It is, however, always best to double check with a medical professional, and of course, in the the future keep it away from liquids. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking 15 mgs of oxycodone 5 times a day for 4 yrs, but they stopped working. Then I was taking dilaudid with 15 mg oxycodone. Still no help. Now I am taking Embeda 30-1.2 twice daily and Norco 10-325 4 times a day. Still in pain. What should I do? ## The next step is most likely Fentanyl, it is the most opiate available, it is in a patch form that is usually effective for 48 to 72 hours. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It is something you can discuss with your doctor, anyway, to see if it is a viable option for you. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I use to be on the fentanyl patch. It takes a day or 2 to get in your system but after that it ...

My husband was just prescribed embeda for his chronic pain. Is it better to take it in the morning or at night? Does it matter? ## No, it really doesn't matter, unless his doctor has given other instructions, he can take it whenever it is most convenient for him. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## All those side affects and oxycodone has none in comparison to that junk. A little constipation that mirlax fixes that problem. If it habit forming wth! I have a physical dependence not an addiction to ipiods.

I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 for 4 years and it stopped working....now doctor puts me on long acting embeda which doesn't work at all!! He won't switch me back....what medicine will work for me? ## Same here he wont put me back on hydrocodone.....I'm having bowel incontinence with the embeda ## Hello, Dawn! How are you? What dose of the Embeda were you prescribed? There's a chance that it isn't equivalent to what you were taking. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. ## Sorry to hear you are still in pain. I take Embeda 50mg once a day. I was on norco 7.5/325 for several months and it stopped working. Dr put me on embeda but when...

Major headache for weeks. I want to just want to be drug free but have herniated discs in neck, compression fracture T 11, degeneration of L 4-5 discs, stenosis. What will I do with pain so intense? ## Sometimes, when one has serious health problems, it is better to accept that you must take medications for the rest of your life. There is no shame in it. I am a heart patient and my husband has epilepsy, and as much as we wish it weren't so, we will both have to take medications for the duration of our lives, just like you, who has to deal with severe chronic pain, every day. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Why are you so worried about taking it?...

how effective is embeda and what pharmacy carries it in lafayette, louisiana ## Hello, Sue! How are you? Embeda contains Morphine coupled with Naltrexone, to prevent the abuse of opiates, while someone is taking it. Morphine, however, is a very effective analgesic. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I do not, however, have any information on which pharmacies carry it. Has it been prescribed for you? ## I take oxycodone 10 and now embeda will the naltrexone. I want to know if is going to make my pain meds not work for my pain anymore I also have severe hypothyroidism is it safe

I recently was changed to embeda30mg time released from 30mg ms cotton time released. I know why the change an I think it was genius. Is there a big change in the pain relief or does it work better? I'm all in on safety and the more meds.they can do this to is fantastic. Any way just curious about the change in my meds. ## Hello, Sunshine! How are you? Just like with any other medication, it varies from person to person, there are some people that have found it works great and others got no pain relief from it. The only way to see how it works for you is by trying it. Have you taken it, yet? The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipat...

I have been talking ms cot. 30mg timed release for 8yrs. My doctor put me on embeda 30mg cap. timed release. How long do they last? I think it is a wonderful thing they did. Maybe we will see the overdose of people really drop. The embeda really works, don't be afraid to try them. I would tell everyone who has to change it works! Don't worry it's better, really. Change is good, just think of all the people who will live and not die. I think it's wonderful. Thank you for your time. ## Hello, Sunshine! How are you? The dosage can vary from person to person, depending on their pain levels. It can be prescribed once every 24 hours, or twice daily. The FDA classifies this medication as a This narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side e...

I've been on embeda for about 4 months I'm still hurting and was having dizzy spells called my doc she recommended me to lack off and it worked but I'm in pain do you think lortab, zorohydro would be better I've been on lortab before and it helps better than the embeda ## Hello, Robert! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. You may do well with the Zohydro, since Lortab worked well for you. It contains a time released formulation of Hydrocodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You could ask your doctor about it and see what she thinks. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello At pain clinic recently and they changing me from fentynal 75mcg 1 every 3 days to embeda 60. The pharmacy having problems filling this due to work comp restrictions so they send me HCD 30mg until they can get embeda filled. Is this equivalent in pain reduction as the fentynal? reason i ask is im in alot more pain than usual. It takes effort to walk, my knees, hips, back, shoulders hurt really bad, Im currently taking this medication because of problems with knees, hips, back and right shoulder. ## OT os very doubtful that the pain relief is equivalent. Fentanyl is really the strongest narcotic analgesic on the market, it is 80 times stronger than Morphine, which is what is in the Embeda. The Hydrocodone is yet another step down on the pain relief scale, from the Morphine. I mean t...
