Why is it bad to flush pills in toilet would it hurt our environment ## Hello, Ran! How are you? Environmental contamination. Waste water is purified and reused, but it's been found that prescriptions drugs tend not to be removed by current purification methods, so we end up with them still being in our tap water. The preferred current disposal method is to mix them with some undesirable substance, such as used coffee grounds or dirty kitty litter, place the mess into a sealed container, such as a coffee can and then dispose of it with your regular garbage. Is there anything else I can help with?

Does Cheratussin AC contain any gluten ingredients, among other drugs? ## According to DailyMed, Cheratussin AC contains the following INACTIVE ingredients: - alcohol - caramel - citric acid - FD&C red #40 - flavor - glycerin - menthol racemic - purified water - saccharin sodium - sodium benzoate - sorbitol solution The manufacturer is Par (now owned by Endo), NDC 0603-1075. I don't believe any of those ingredients would contain gluten, although I don't know what is contained in their "flavor". As to other vitamins and medications, one would need to list specifics in order to look up the inactive ingredients and help determine whether there are any gluten-containing compounds. Update June 13, 2019: I called Par at (800) 828-9393, option 2 - and asked whether Cheratus...

What's the color of liquid demerol ## I was unable to look up the exact color of the liquid, but I did locate a list of the inactive ingredients in the solution, which does suggest that there are no added colorings, just a flavoring agent... "ORAL SOLUTION: Benzoic Acid, Flavor, Liquid Glucose, Purified Water, Saccharin Sodium. The oral solution is a pleasant-tasting, nonalcoholic, banana-flavored solution containing 50 mg of DEMEROL, brand of meperidine hydrochloride, per 5 mL teaspoon (25 drops contain 13 mg of DEMEROL)." Referenced from: This is not to say that the solution is clear, but it may be wise to contact the manufacturer directly about this, if you have that information in hand? I hope this helps!

what is the real shelf life of testosterone gel in foil packs ## Hi eugene, Information from mims.com indicates that shelf-life for testosterone gel can last 24 months if stored below 25°C. Each sachet of gel also contains the following excipients: Carbomer 980, isopropyl myristate, 96% ethanol, sodium hydroxide and purified water. I don't know however if it being in foil packs alters it's shelf-life in any way. I wouldn't take any chances though if it's past the 24 month mark. what is the white powdery sediment that collects at the bottom of my child's Betamox syrup bottle? ## Are you making sure to shake the medication to mix it, when you give your child a dose? Betamox contains the active ingredient Amoxicillin, which is an antibiotic, but these suspensions usually start out as powders at the pharmacy, which are mixed with purified water, at the time they are dispensed to you. Thus, as it sits, it is normal for some of the medication to settle back out, just as would happen with any other powder solid that you mix with a liquid and let sit for awhile. That's why you are supposed to shake the bottle to mix well, before giving your child a dose. ## I've got the baby girl, she is 7 months she is having sore inside de mouth, she can't eat, she is ...

Why does Centrum Liquid vitamins get darker in color by the time of the last few doses? Shaking the bottle doesn't make any difference; the last 3 or 4 tbsp. are darker in color. ## Hi Scarlett, This is just my theory, but I can only assume that one or more of the following ingredients aren't getting completely mixed in with the rest of the liquid & settling at the bottom due to their molecular weight and/or solubility: "Centrum Liquid Vitamin Ingredients: **Purified Water, Sucrose, Ethyl Alcohol. does cheratussin look niqrathin, or like a syrup ## Cheratussin ac has a thick liquid viscosity. A possible comparison is that it's thinner and runs quicker than maple syrup but thicker than fruit juice. That's the best analogy I can put together for it. If you happen to stop by your local pharmacy, just pick up a bottle of Robitussin cough syrup and it's pretty much the same consistency. The inactive ingredients in Cheratussin AC contain: alcohol, caramel, citric acid, FD&C red #40, flavor, glycerin, menthol racemic, purified water, saccharin sodium, sodium benzoate, sorbitol solution ....So it will likely be a light reddish pink color, judging from the Red dye they put in it.
