Orange Subutex 153 (Page 3)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I refilled my monthly subutex Tuesday and received orange oblong tablets inscribed 153. My pharmacy has carried 54/111 over three years. Does anyone know if the orange ones are going to permanently replace all other generic Buprenorphine? Also, are any other patients experiencing loss in quality? Thank you

I just got mine yesterday, I didn't think to check just assumed they would be the same..got home and first thing I realized was my meds weight went up sixty percent, I'm in the same situation. I don't know if my doctor can help but I'm showing up tomorrow morning with my still sealed bottle

Sorry Sammy, I didn't answer question. I have no clue if its permanent..it depends on the cost between the 2 and what the pharmacist orders. But Different drug stores carry one or the other. If you prefer the white I would call around.
Good luck

The only difference will be the taste. I was in the same boat about 7 months ago or so. Anyway, all is well. I actually prefer the orange ocer the white one's, I feel they last longer.
Good luck

I was in another area of the med chat..I thought it was all the same, but anyway..omg, people are so rude! It's good to be back here..you all were always so kind. I remember when I first started here and some of you really helped me out. I was called every name in the book for just giving my opinion..it was crazy! I hope everyone is doing well..it's been a while. I just wanted to say thanks again for all your support in the past.
I also wanted to say...I went from a full script to 12 a month to 6 a month to 8 a month..now I get 10 subs a month and it works out great.
Peace

Hi,
I stayed on for a couple of reasons. Like I said previously, I was addicted to pain killers for years..my doc and I talked it over and thought I was jumping the gun and didn't want to see me go back. I only get 10 subs a month now.. This is just enough to keep me happy and not have the erg to screw up. I do suffer a lot of pain and subs help with that as well. I also just found out recently I may have breast cancer...playing the waiting game right now. But no matter what happens, I will continue the subs over pk's durring treatment. I think I stay on subs for peace of mind...I'm weaker then I think.

Mary, why did you decide to stay on subutex? I'm just curious if you tried to stop? You had mentioned you were weaning off in posts from last year.

Hi Zonda,

It works the same.. In my opinion the only difference might be the taste. Had a bit of a stinging bite to it but nothing unbearable. I myself prefer the Orange now over the white ones..As crazy as it probably is, I think they last longer.

I've changed my mind on this reply I wrote. I still take and the orange ones work better in my opinion. But Bup is Bup...all the same I'm sure.

I have been on the white ones for about a year saved my life from pain pills. My insurance was covering 8 pills and i had to do another pre-authorization to get my insurance to cover a portion of them again well when I went to the pharmacy today they explained that my insurance would cover the whole prescription and that they would only cover actavis manufacturer. The pharmacist explained that it was the same exact thing and that he had to order them but it was just a cheaper manufacture and that I will now be receiving orange pills with a half moon. Very scared that this will not be the same especially after reading all these reviews

I'm wondering, too, about this "nose burning" some people are attributing to certain generic subutex pills. What, are you insufflating them? Why??? As for the headaches, that side effect almost certainly comes from taking more than the proper dose; they're formulated that way purposely to discourage abuse. And lastly, just a little "grammar police" instruction: Suboxone is pronounced suboxOWN, not suboxin, and withdrawal does not have "s" at the end; it's withdrawal, not "withdrawals." Just felt a little cranky today--sorry if I offended anyone.

The reason generics are cheaper and less effective then namebrand is each manufacturer has the go ahead to make their version up to 20% less of the said active ingredient in their medication. So if you have been taking 8mg of subutex from one generic manufacturing company and it only pu say 95% of the active ingredient in each tablet. Then switch to a different manuf. They could have made theirs with the minimal amount which would've been 80% of buprenorphine. Although your slightly uncomfortable it'll pass within a week and your body will get use to it or you can explain this to your Dr. They will know what your talking about and ask for an extra 2mg or 4mg tablet to take a day. I personally just got used to it because gov. Is making such a huge deal over this crap.

Funny there's no real war on hyrocodone/morphone/oxycodone/or morphine. And methadone. Well they actually have methadone in our water supply across the USA in higher metropolitan areas and even in some lower populated areas. So you have to wonder, ask the big question. What's the big deal with buprenorphine? It not only is way safer with less side effects and abuse potential then methadone. But its also been looked at for anxiety and depression. So if you have this drug that keeps you clean happy and a better part of society. Well then, why the big war?!?

I agree 100%. After a year on white 2mg Subutex, I was just given the Actavis orange. This is my 2nd day and I feel HORRIBLE. I was told by Walgreens ( had to switch due to closing of Pathmark) that this is what they got when they ordered it AND they discontinued the white ones. The white ones have to be out there somewhere. I had no problem for a year straight. Total disappointment. Gonna be a rough month.

Yes me! My doc had to cancel our monthly appt & called in a week of subutex. I went to Walgreens as usual but this time i got the orange oval shaped pills. I normally get high-tech white small ones with an arrow & they work good. I'm on day 5 of orange & i feel like I'm going thru withdrawals. I def don't feel normal. I do not abuse my meds. I have been on subs for almost 5 years & have been clean for the same. I go to mtgs, i live a pretty good life in recovery. I don't know what r in these orange pills but they r def poor quality & there is no way it has my reg dose of 8 mg of buprenorphine. I can't wait till i go to the doctor on Tues, i will def call other pharmacies to see if they have the other brands. This is awful & the pharmacy wouldn't take them back. I am also getting awful headaches & have NO energy.

This post is not about subs, BUT you all are not crazy. Walgreens and CVS changed my oxy 10/325 with actavis, i got a bad batch or placebo. Walgreens are crooks. They're selling Actavis garbage Imo with drugs that are COMMONLY prescribed. OXY 10/325 IS A standard breakthrough medication for pain. Suboxone/subutex is prescribed a lot...so stand up for urself and get the brand that works with your body!! Good Luck All!!
