For those of you who experienced joint pain on Viibryd, has your pain gone away since weaning from the drug? I am dealing with that now and slowly weaning off. I'm hoping to be pain free again soon!

I'm keeping a log and here is my info for each day so far.

1 stomach cramps- diarrhea, insomnia
2 stomach cramps, diarrhea, nausea, brain zaps (after taking naproxen) insomnia
3 strong stomach cramp lasted ony for a few seconds- reg bowel movement, very calm after taking .5xanax which usually wouldn’t have helped too much because my dr has me on 1mg, but slightly irritated/anxious after apple cider. insomnia
4 no symptoms but didn’t take viibryd in the morning, took it at night
5 diarrhea in the AM only, probably because I took it last night before going to bed. No stomach cramps
6- very very tired all day.. drank 3 or 4 cups of coffee and they had no effect, loose stool but not diarrhea, irritated but not anxious. Not overly irrated, just annoyed for an hour or so.

Also on day 5 I went out with a friend, let her know to keep an eye because of the new bed and alcohol but I had 4 beers and felt completely fine the next day. Im not having any kinds of problems with drinking in moderation on this med but haven't been on it for too long so I will take it slow.

I have been on vii for going on 4weeks. Switching from Zoloft to this. I have had not a lot os side effects but I did miss 1 day of taking my new meds and I will NEVER do that again. Dreams were bad and I woke up feeling like I wanted to cry all day. The dreams were so real and I couldn't stop!! Memory not the best but doc thinks this is all from changing meds. All I can do is hope this will all work out in the end and we have to hit rough patches along the way....which does suck! Please let me know if this has happened to you

I'm on day 17 now, I had a major panic attack night when trying to take viibryd right before I thought I would fall asleep. It lasted 3.5 hours. THis is not associated with another drug because I have been off wellbutrin since december and lexapro was before that. I also had a lot of anxiety (not an attack) while going out with my husband and friend. I think what they say about alcohol may be true, went out drinking that night and got drunk not intending to and having 3 beers and 2 shots (his friends were ordering rounds) and I had my head in the toilet from 3am to 8am. I'm not sure the meds are working at all. I don't feel any better and Im taking the viibryd for anxiety. I've actually had to take more of my xanax since viibryd. I've read somewhere that someone said stick it out until the 3rd of 4th week because it will really kick in. I hope so. I also think its really hard for people to rate this med when coming off another med. Its hard to know what is the withdrawal and what is the viibryd. When coming off lexapro cold turkey (i know.. dumb!) I felt chest pressure and shortness of breath. I thought it was bronchitis and I just had mucus stuck so I took every cold medicine. I couldnt even walk to the mailbox without being out of breath. I went to mdnow and they sent me straight to the er and the er wanted to observe me all night for a heart attack (im a 32 year old female) My dr finally comes in the next day and asks me if i came off the lexapro and I said yea..2 weeks ago. he said it was totally from that and put me back on the lexaro and I tapered off. SOOOOOO crazy because I had NO ANXIETY and never would have suspected the drug could do that. I wish all of us luck on this med and please keep posting how you are all doing!

I do want to add something positive to that post. My husband says it has worked wonders for my irritability and I seem like I am in overall a more positive and patient mood. He wants me to stick it out and give the meds a change and to stop GOOGLING, lol

Ive been taking Viibryd for about 2 weeks. This little pill has been a disaster for me. I have been nothing but dizzy. I walk into walls at work, tripping over just about everything and just really having a hard time with this. I had to leave work early tonight due to this dizziness. I was stumbling around half my shift, walking into the walls, tripping over wheelchairs, not being able to walk in a straight line and to top it off, really blurry vision. Granted this pill did make me alittle more out-going but I would rather stay a recluse then deal with the side effects of this. I have been on many anti-depressents over the past 18 years, and this has been one of the worst. Now that my dizziness is gone I have a flaming headache. Feel like I was out on a all night bender. I also have not been able to sleep. I do have insomnia to begin with but this makes it way worse. Not to mention the really WEIRD dreams that I have been having. I am never taking Viibryd again. I must call my doctor tomorrow and get my Celexa back.

This medication was a disaster. 10mg, 20mg were ok, the jump to 40mg really messed me up. Extreme sadness and ANGER. Being treated for MDD, but this was NOT what I needed. Lost all interest in things. Pretty much did the opposit of what was needed. Didn't even go out to see my new motorcycle for over a month! Off it now and better in many ways.Going for a "break" for a bit before I try anything else.

I've never been on an antidepressant before, but I decided it's finally time. I'm on day 4 of my Viibryd starter pack. (I also take 20mg of Adderall twice a day and have been for 6 months now.) Since starting Viibryd I have noticed an increase in my jaw tension and headaches. Last night was the worst of the jaw tension so far. I kept waking up at feeling extreme pain in my jaw that was slowly moving around from the top row of teeth, through the jaw joint, and down to my bottom teeth, and then back up again. It was horrible! I thought I might black out from the pain. When I woke up, however, the extreme pain wasn't there, but my teeth were and still are aching from it. I keep having to remind myself to let my mouth hang slightly open or I'll start clenching again without realizing it. I really hope this stops soon because I can't deal with it for much longer.

Yes that is a side effect buy a night guard for your teeth I had one made at the Dentist mine was expensive a local pharmacy ie :CVS,Walgreens haveit. Viibryd isvery
good expect I have had side effects I woke up with a swollen check I don't know if it is from the teeth grinding
and I had a horrible nightmare a few days ago and that abnormal mouth taste I am beginning to thing the side effects out way the good feeling when your health is being at risk

I have been on 40mg of viibryd for about a month. My anxiety was gone after the jump to 40mg. But each day is getting worse and stranger. I don't feel like myself. I am edgy and disconnected. I am having horrible dreams. I will go to sleep and have dreams and I will wake up like every ten min. And be almost paralyzed like I can't get up and the dreams start back up where they left off. My mood after I finally can get up is so weird. I am disconnected and depressed. I wake up sweating and i havent moved but im really cold i have been very dizzy and I get brain zaps. I have cramps in
my legs especially my knees. I thought it was working now I can't stand how hopeless and strange I feel. I am weaning off and starting Paxil. I was on lexapro for 7 years and it just stopped working after I took a few months of the generic.

When I first started i experienced a lot of nausea an stomach ache after taking the med. I am having bad side effects now that are more disturbing than a belly ache. Horrible nightmares/vivid dreams I wake in a cold sweat and don't ever feel rested. I also have been in a really hopeless, frantic and depressed mood. I know I am not myself. I also did very bad on Zoloft about 8 years ago. But this is worse.

I am having the same problems. Nothing ever has ruined my sleep.... It is so scary isn't it. I wake up so disoriented!

SOUTH FLORIDA- I forgot all about the horibble taste in my mouth! Each of us is right...Viibryd causes horrible dream but for me, this only happened if I did not take the dose on time. Today my doctor chuckled at my having nightmares, after one waking up thinking someone was in the house. I'm grateful for this forum. Dreams and the mouth taste were the only negatives for me, enough to stop. When I did take it I was actually energized, I excercised, my fibromyalgia hurt less and generally I was positive. I hope this new medication, Savella, works. Has anyone had any experience?

My 18 yr.old son started taking Viibryd about four weeks ago for depression and anxiety. Almost immediately, he was calmer, and with the help of some Ambien, has been sleeping. However, during the past week or so, he has been complaining of nightmares... specifically, of waking up in the night and thinking he's seeing people or animals in his room. At first, he just laughed it off, but last night, he said the bad dreams were relentless, and he was actually afraid. The warning labels say to report "hallucinations" to the doctor immediately, as they are signs of a serious side-effect, but do dreams count? He thought it might be the Ambien, but he skipped that last night, and the dreams were worse than ever. His plan is to wean back down to 20 mg. He was up to 40 mg for a few days, but cut back to 30 mg.

Hi Concerned Mom,

There is a thread here on Sleep Paralysis with Hallucinations. You should probably read through it. I have posted several things on there myself. I have had sp all my life, but the Viibryd did make it worse for a while....and the Ambien and all other sleep meds I have tried have given me awful dreams. There are many on here that have had the experiences your son is having. They for me went away after a few months, but the medicine helped me so much that I was willing to continue. I really love this med. It has changed my life. But do go to that thread on here. It will explain things since I guess you haven't heard of sp. Not many people have...

This drug scares the heck out of me! I've followed the standard "wean on" procedure while halving Effexor until I began the 40mg dose and am now at full strength Viibryd and zero Effexor for 5 days. I've experienced a HORRIBLE taste in my mouth and completely disrupted sleep for about 3 days now while blood pressure has been steadily rising - now at 126/105. I AM DONE with it! Last night my dreams woke me every 5 minutes, were incredibly intense and, although the dream wasn't necessarily scary, I was in total panic. This has been going on for 2 days now and I am completely disoriented and my body feel as though it has consumed a dangerous qty of speed. I've been through Effexor withdrawal and this is nothing like it so am certain it is the Viibryd causing this complete meltdown. A full .25 mg dose of Xanax is the only thing keeping me from losing it. I am pretty scared and intend to visit my pharmacist this morning since my Dr is currently out of town. I want his opinion as to how quickly I can gear back up on the Effexor and get this Viibryd poison out of my system.

Crystal, and Co. Although I am not happy at all to hear that you guys are suffering so much with this vibryd; I am very relieved to know that I am not alone. I am on the 40mg dose of Vibryd and I seem to have been okay (besides stomach upset) on the lower dose but boy have I changed in these past weeks. My lovely "doc" gave me samples on a cardboard card and because of my "attitude" has dismissed me from his care. Nice..he gives me meds that make me extremely agitated and aggressive and then he doesn't like that I tell his nurse that she's inept and that he's irresponsible.Also, suicidal thoughts big time...nice to know you have a supportive psych behind you. I now have no care and some blue pills on a piece of cardboard. Very responsible. Hanging on by a thread in Pa.

Listen I got off Viibryd there is something terribly wrong with this drug it plays with your mind and body so...omg I took Xanax to get off it it is poison it was the most horrible experience I ever had OMG the taste in my mouth
the dreams come on people I am looking for a better way depression is a disease the Doctors don't know or care they look at the computer try and have a heart to heart with one they are alien they have to be to make money
if anyone contuinues with this Viibryd just think of your mind and body I am trying to get through my issues a different way ...that drug noooooo goood

Guys, I stopped taking the vii cold turkey on my own. Do not do this!! I ended up in the hospital for 3 days with unexplained palpitations and horrendous dizzy spells. My new and awesome pcp sid that the withdrawls from vii includes dizzy spells and that the palps may have been from the anxiety of all they symptoms I was having. Its bad news. Im now on 40mgs of prozac...no problems. Yet. Lol. Good luck!
