Switching from Paxil to Viibryd

I am switching from Paxil to Viibryd due to weight gain from Paxil. I'm slowly decreasing Paxil while increasing viibryd, (my choice because I'm terrified of withdraw symptoms). I have been on Paxil for 10 years, coming off of it recently and going on Zoloft during pregnancy. I lost a ton of weight when I was on Zoloft, and the second I started Paxil again, I started gaining quickly. I wanted to go back on Paxil because Zoloft just wasn't controlling my anxiety well. So, here I am, on the 20 mg of Viibyrd plus a 5 mg of Paxil a day. Starting 40 mg of viibryd tomorrow and stopping Paxil. I am noticing that if I don't take the viibryd right at 24 hours since the last dose, I am so anxious! It's almost immediate. Does this drug have no half life? Being an anxious, ocd p...

Paxil 60 mg no longer that beneficial to me anymore

Hi, I've been taking Paxil 30 mg. Twice daily for approximately close to 20 years now. I feel like I need a medication to take with Paxil at this point to be beneficial to me as my depression & anxiety are worse than other times. Does anyone know of a supplement that will help and that I can safely take with Paxil? Maybe another anti depressant to go with my Paxil as I do not want to stop the Paxil.

color paxil 40mg tab

one side has a G other side P4 round white tab ## I have spent one miserable three weeks on the 20 mg generic paxil manufactured by Mylan. I have had to go back to the expensive PAXIL $123.00 a month until I can get myself squared away. I know I have been on a generic for the last rwo years but I do not know who the manufacturer was. They were white oval. Never examined them closly to see any numbers or letters on them. This is really frustrating and I feel violated to have been given something that was not going to treat my problem. My doctor said it is in the delivery system of generics and that the most trouble was seen in the SSRI's and other antidepresants. This is a sad comentary for our drug companies that they cannot make a better generic. It is called GREED. ## Yes, the tab...

Aur 20mg Paxil (Paroxetine)

My Paroxetine prescription looked completely different and is oval & pink instead of white & round. I reacted like I was never on Paxil. Has anyone else had a similar experience? ## I was on a 10mg Paxil tablet that was white and scored (so it could be cut in half to 5 mg). Double check to make sure the pill matches the prescription bottle description. You can also check on the internet or call your local pharmacist to be sure. ## Hello Richard, After doing some research I noticed that most of the Paroxetine medication that comes in the form of round pills often has the label "extended release" and the oval pills do not. It is possible that the pills you are accustom to taking release slower into your system than the ones you are now taking. I would need to know the mark...

Paxil Withdrawals (from 5mg) to Wellbutrin 75mg

I've been on Paxil 5mg tablet (I cut a 10mg tablet in half) for about 2 years. I recently had increased stress in my life so my PCP up'd me to 10 mg which caused increased weight gain and lowered libido. So, I was started on Wellbutrin 75mg daily and told to stop the Paxil as I probably wouldn't have any side effects since I was on such a low dose for so long. I'm sensitive to drugs so I'm not sure. I am on day 5 of no Paxil and taking Wellbutrin and feel that what I may be experiencing are minor brain zaps as my brain adjusts. I assume that's it. Anyways, how long before I should not see side effects of Paxil withdrawal? How do I know it's not a side effect of Wellbutrin? ## Nikki, According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness if you cold turkey Paxil...

cynbolta

antidepressent ## I'm looking for info on Cynbolta. It is being considered for my mother -- 80 years old and seriously depressed. She also suffers from Alzheimers and Parkinsons. Other antidepressants (eg:Paxil) have proved inneffective and havae had serious gastro-intestinal side effects. Does anyone have an experiences regarding this drug that can be shared? ## Were you referring to the medication Cymbalta? it contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, and is used to treat depression, as well as anxiety. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes. It didn't work for me, or for my husband, but there is no way to say how it might work for someone else. Has she started it, yet?

would paxil and wellbutrin thin your blood

i take wellbutrin, paxil. kolatapin, and adderall could they thin your blood ## dose wellbutin thin your blood ?? ## No, that is not a normal side effect of these medications. The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness, and weight changes. Are you having an issue with blood thinning? Are these the only medication you are currently taking? What are your diagnosed medical conditions? There is really no way to say how any medication will affect anyone that tries it, so it can't be 100% ruled out, but it is unlikely that the listed ones would cause any dangerous blood thinning.

does paxil work for anyone

Please let me know what you take it for, how much you take and how long it took to work? Please respond. ## Hi, Theresa! Has it had any effect, yet? It can take about 4 to 6 weeks for a medication like Paxil to reach its full level of effectiveness in your body. Generally, that's about the same time when you'll notice any side effects reaching their peak in intensity, then starting to taper off. If it's had no effect by then, that means it most likely isn't the right medication for you. Learn more Paxil details here. I've never tried it, but it worked very well for my ex-husband, he was on it for years. What others have you tried? ## No I have felt no improvement at all. I just was raised from 20 to 30 Mgs a few days ago but I have been on it almost 4 weeks now. Do y...

Paxil withdrawals

Hi, I have been taking Paxil (20mg) for over a year now. The first time I noticed withdrawal symptoms was when I was unable to pick up my refill and missed 1 day of taking it. I woke up hardly able to walk because the room felt like it was spinning and I kept feeling like I was having brain seizures. About 2 hours or so after taking a pill I was feeling back to normal. Is this normal for this kind of a drug? I’m 22, still having occasional suicidal thoughts while on Paxil and am worried that I am now addicted to it. Is this drug safe? ## NO! I was on it 6 years . Paxil and Amitriptylin for sleep. I quit paxil cold turkey big mistake. tapered off over 5 months. Was still not easy. This is my first month off and my biggest complaint is the itching and dry skin areas. Did some prep w...
