Teva 30mg Vs Aurobindo Pharm Amphetamine Salts (adderall) (Page 5)

Updated

For several years I've taken TEVA 30mg Amphetamine Salts 2x daily with consistent positive relief. Focus and a feeling that I could have a productive day gave me a reason to get out of bed. On 8/21/2014 all that changed to nervous anxiety filled days staying home. What caused the dramatic change quickly became clear. The generic Adderall produced by AUROBINO PHARM which my regular CVS Pharmacy filled my RX with on 8/21 was less than effective it was exasperating the very symptoms for which it was prescribed. FDA is an ineffective bureaucracy controlled by lobbyists for foreign and domestic pharmaceutical companies making huge profits in generic drugs at the expense of the health and quality of life of others. The manufacturing of inferior or possibly harmful medications by greedy corporations will continue to grow until a strong GOOD DRUG coalition is formed. Tomorrow I know I will be calling my pharmacy, CVS Corporation, my Dr., and make a report to the FDA. I will also try my damnedest never to purchase a drug produced by AUROBINDO PHAR.

Hey guys... you can ask your doctor to write on the prescription which generic adderall you prefer. Now, your pharmacy may have to order it for you. Hope this helps.

I disagree... Cor 136 is the gold standard in late 2017 Sandoz is missing in action

Sandoz is available at costco. Teva/Barr is mainly thru Walgreens and CorPharma and Mylan are s*** cut with fillers and binders. All the older ADHD patients agree that CorPharma is the worst. Quality slowly going downhill.

I took two 30 CorePharma doses that made me feel like superman with no side effects. In my opinion it's the best adderall, so you're totally misleading by saying it's even in the same realm as mylan-s***.

Core pharma is currently the best Adderall. Yes, they used to be the worst. Any older ADHD patient will tell you that. However TEVA's quality has drastically declined this year and their pills have no effect anymore, Aurobindo is notorious for being the absolute worst Adderall available, and Sandoz is not available anywhere.

I agree... Aurobindo's generic amphetamine salts 20 mg tablets from CVS is making me feel horrible. I thought the effacay was poor there so took 1/4 tablet late in day and really felt horrible. Constipated, headache, can't concentrate or put a thought together or remember anything.... basically I was useless and will never take this manufacturers meds again. Feel very anxious which has never happened. I can't accomplish a single thing. Better to not take this manufacturers drug and call physician. I will report to FDA!

Corepharma has discontinued the manufacturing of Adderall, although some pharmacies still carry it, but obviously this will be short term

Teva has been acquired by another company,
And although they still produce the IR,I am not sure how long it will be available to the public.

I personally think Teva is the most efficacious and the most potent. I find Sandoz to be very weak

How can you be taking Suboxone and Norco at the same time?

I posted earlier stating how aurobindo is not good. Change of heart, I switched to Aurobindo because I realize teva was NOT helping and had noticed people saying how it's better and AUROBINDO IS BETTER than Teva. I switched on and off each month for half a year brtween the two and the conclusion I had come to is aurobindo>teva.

I thought I was crazy but this medication does not work for me and I also have the same symptoms you are having. Constipation meds don't work, and doesn't help my attention span. I don't know what to do. I go to my doctor Thursday and I am hoping she can put me on something else. Any suggestions for a new med?

I switched to the brand name Adderall XR 20 mg once a day and using a savings card I'm paying $235 per month at CVS. It's a struggle to pay, but so worth it. I like to stay with one pharmacy for all my Rx needs, especially when it involves a controlled substance. Shopping around for non-controlled substances is not a problem.

Do you still prefer the Aurobindo to the Teva? I need to make decision on my script next week now that Core is gone.

Thanks.

Agree. I took a chance with my script today and went with the "dreaded" Aurobindo. You know what? It's not as potent as the "new" nasty , Ill never eat again, totally irritable mood cheap Teva but subtlety does the job: enhanced mood, good concentration and focus- with no side effects. That's all I want in these meds and although early in the script I'm encouraged. I report back in a week if I feel the same.

Good luck!

I'm 4 months in with Aurobindo, no change in efficacy, no weird side effects.

Re: Hamster (# 93) Expand Referenced Message

OK, so I said initial script of 30 mg Aurobindo adderall was similar to Core and I would revert back in 5 days if my original statement held true. So here it is: They suck. So weak that after 4 days I might as well be taking a sugar pill. Mood has declined , very snappy to all (especially my wife), anti social ( wonderful as I am at a destination wedding)and just feel "off." I will make appt with Doc on return, give him the rest of this candy and hope we can fill to plan b.

Re: Hamster (# 95) Expand Referenced Message

Concerning plan "b" as you state......

Sounds just about everyone and stayed and then just give up every generic Adderall manufactured, at this point, to be more proactive on this form here, can people post experiences or brands which they have recently experienced good, or at least acceptable, results with generic Adderall IR

For example, Sandoz it appears has had a consistently favorable review, invariably, from people over 20+ years. Teva was once regarded as the best, but now people are stating that it's potency is decreasing. Corepharma is discontinued.

So instead of stating what you don't like, perhaps we can state what we currently do like…
What -is- working for us currently.

Also I have a question about brand-name Adderall IR

Ironically, it was, at one timeactually manufactured by Teva.

Does anyone know if it is still available… i.e. can a pharmacist actually order brand-name IR at all anymore?

If you visit Teva's website, you will find its generic product, and, if you had gone to their site
(in the past,) you would have found that they manufactured the brand... which I believe they
do not anymore…

Which leaves me with the quagmire… and questions…

Who manufacture brand name Adderall IR??

One other item:

Teva acquired Actavis and they have a generic Adderall IR product. Actavis generic Adderall IR

Anyone tried it that could provide commentary?

Re: James (# 97) Expand Referenced Message

Teva makes both "brand" and generic. Its like
The "fox guarding the henhouse."

I hear brand is Ok but it's not original from Barr. The generic is all over the place. Just read the posts.

Good luck !

I had the same thing happen to me. I was using Mylan or Teva 10mg, twice per day. CVS filled my prescription one day and I noticed that it looked different. I didn't think much about it until the next afternoon when I started feeling very bad. My body felt cold and I was in discomfort. CVS had given me Core Pharma. Then I went to Walgreens and asked about it. The pharmacist there told me that they only use Teva, and that Core Pharma had the least amount of medicine legally required to pass FDA approval. ALSO, the fillers for delivery to the human system were different and of low quality. I forgot to check last month when I got my script filled (CVS HAD ON MY PROFILE TO ONLY GIVE ME MYLAN OR TEVA) and when I got home I saw they had given me something much worse: the AUROBINDO brand. It was so bad I had to quit taking it for a month! I just learned from a pharmacist at CVS that they only use certain suppliers and we're basically slaves to whatever they send them. Walgreens, however, owns part of a good distribution company and ALWAYS has TEVA. Everyone should change from CVS to WALGREENS as soon as possible. WALMART has TEVA sometimes as well. I agree with you. Now, it's not about the patients, it's about the bottom dollar. CVS should be ashamed. Please pass this on to other patients with ADD.

I've been on Adderall for close to 4 years now. I've tried various generic brands, and if doctors or pharmacists tell you all generics are the same, find a different doctor/pharmacist. My experience has been as follows:

Sandoz - Started off with this brand. Very smooth and clean experience. Great for focus. But it's gotten progressively weaker. The 2017 batches have been very weak.

Mylan - Needed a higher dose than usual. Only used it for a month.

Mallinckrodt - No potency issues here, but side effects were pronounced. Racing heart, chest pains, insomnia, bruxism, muscle aches, GI distress, etc. The intended benefits of Adderall (focus, motivation) were not there at all.

Teva - Sugar pill. Seriously. It's sweet, and feels like nothing. No effects whatsoever. My current dose is 20mg twice a day, and I have to take 40mg to feel any effects from this. Tried it on two separate refills with no luck.

Corepharma - What was once the worst generic brand, is now the best. Works exactly as smooth as Sandoz, but much more potent. The intended effects of focus and motivation are noticeable with every dose. Been on this the last 11 months. However recently discovered they stopped manufacturing their generic Adderall in August 2017. Pharmacists can no longer order this generic.

Aurobindo - After searching far and wide for Corepharma with no luck, I ended up with Aurobindo. It was a blind fill, if I'm being honest. A quick Google search would've saved me the trouble, but of course, ADHD-inspired impulsivity was my undoing. This is hands down the worst generic on the market. Even doubling my dose left me feeling like I'd taken nothing. My theory is that this pill does not contain any amphetamine salts (wouldn't be the first time a pharmacy out of India was caught selling placebo pills). To test this theory I took a 40mg dose at 10pm one night, and was able to sleep quite comfortably an hour later. Even a 5mg dose of Corepharma or the weaker Sandoz leaves me unable to sleep for 2-3 hours. There's obviously something wrong with this generic, and a simple Google search will show you thousands of complaints against Aurobindo and their version of Adderall. Aurobindo has already received multiple warning letters from the FDA, but that's clearly not working. They need to be investigated and shut down for scamming millions of us. Unfortunately, in my state (Georgia), Aurobindo appears to be the most carried brand in pharmacies. When asked, they say it's the cheapest brand available to them, but not by a big margin. Rite Aid exclusively carries only Aurobindo now, and most Krogers, Publix, Targets, Walmarts, CVS' also seem to carry Aurobindo. Start sending in your complaints to the FDA if you've had a similar experience with Aurobindo, because if we stay silent, pharmacies will start to think there's nothing wrong with this generic and will soon be carrying it exclusively.
