Teva 30mg Vs Aurobindo Pharm Amphetamine Salts (adderall) (Page 4)

Updated

For several years I've taken TEVA 30mg Amphetamine Salts 2x daily with consistent positive relief. Focus and a feeling that I could have a productive day gave me a reason to get out of bed. On 8/21/2014 all that changed to nervous anxiety filled days staying home. What caused the dramatic change quickly became clear. The generic Adderall produced by AUROBINO PHARM which my regular CVS Pharmacy filled my RX with on 8/21 was less than effective it was exasperating the very symptoms for which it was prescribed. FDA is an ineffective bureaucracy controlled by lobbyists for foreign and domestic pharmaceutical companies making huge profits in generic drugs at the expense of the health and quality of life of others. The manufacturing of inferior or possibly harmful medications by greedy corporations will continue to grow until a strong GOOD DRUG coalition is formed. Tomorrow I know I will be calling my pharmacy, CVS Corporation, my Dr., and make a report to the FDA. I will also try my damnedest never to purchase a drug produced by AUROBINDO PHAR.

So glad these posts are here. Went to CVS for the first time to have a prescription filled because it is close to work. Received auribundo. Thought for sure I was getting the flu after taking it and was really frustrated that I was regressing mentally but just decided to power through. I can tell upon taking it that my body is rejecting it like poison, every pill feels like I'm taking a shot of bottom shelf tequila. The medication doesn't help me to focus like adderall is supposed too. Very frustrated, can't wait to find my way back to what I was taking before, will ask the pharmacist in advance from now on what they will be filling with

"Aurobindo Pharma comes under USFDA lens, again"

Jul 22, 2015

By Vikas Dandekar & Divya Rajagopal

"MUMBAI: Hyderabad-based Aurobindo Pharma is the latest addition to an expanding list of Indian drug firms that have come under the scanner of the US health regulator. During a recent week-long inspection at its Unit 12 manufacturing site, the Food and Drug Administration raised issues related to the quality management systems of the company, a person with direct knowledge of the scrutiny said."

I just picked up aurobindo generic adderall yesterday at CVS and it is the WORST!!! I still have a terrible headache, I'm dizzy, nauseated, sweating, shaking. I too want to file a complaint with the FDA. How do I do that? This needs to be discontinued! Whatever this is, it's not generic adderall!

I've ALWAYS received Teva/Barr when filling my prescription at Walgreens so this last time I filled my prescription I failed to verify with the pharmacist that I was indeed getting the Teva/Barr generic brand. I didn't think much of it when I read the label and noticed the manufacturer was Aurobindo... that is until I took it. I felt terrible after day 1, but I assumed it had nothing to do with the medication. I took it for a total of 3 days (I was unable to take my usual dosage because I did not feel like myself) and I'm positive it has to do with this manufacturer. I literally felt like I had the flu. I experienced chest pain, heartburn, numbness in my feet and hands, headache, neck pain, HORRIBLE stomach issues not to mention irritability, depression, and waves of feeling super tired then overly jittery and unable to concentrate. I contacted Walgreens and was informed that they had Teva/Barr in stock for every other strength except 30mg!! I was fortunate enough to get ahold of my therapist and have her write me a prescription for a different strength (same dosage) so that I would be able to receive Teva/Barr. She also told me that she's heard multiple complaints surrounding the quality of Aurobindo pharma and their questionable manufacturing practices. In the future I would hold off on filling a prescription if I knew I would be getting Aurobindo. I don't know if it's the inactive ingredients that makes their product so TOXIC, but I certainly will never accept this crap again. I advise others to file a complaint with MedWatch as I did already.

This AuroBindo is absolutely NOT qualified to pass as an Adderall generic. Does anyone recommend sources for GCMS evaluations?

I'm taking aurobindo adderall currently and I'm actually going through terrible agitation, repetitive body behavior, anxiety, and feel faint. I feel so horrible. I'm trying to warn others, do not take this medication. Something is wrong with it. I almost went to the er today. Haven't slept either for 3 days. Thank you to others who posted... At least I don't feel alone. Going off this s*** now.

I have been taking the Teva made Adderall and wound up with ulcers in my mouth.
I do not want to take the aurobindo because of all the posts about how worthless it is. I am at a loss.

AUROBINDO Is far more effective than Teva. After I take the Teva brand adderal either at 5mg 10mg or at 30 mg it as if I've taken 7 shots is espresso along with Teva's brand of Adderal. AUROBINDO Is slower to its peak, doesn't make me feel shaky, make my mouth dry or make me feel frantic. It's mostly true that taking a higher dosage AUROBINDO may be required if you're after that high' feeling that makes you hit the ground running straight out of bed. I've been taking adderall for ADD for 15 years. AUROBINDO Is the first and only brand that enhances my mood and allows me to focus on what I intend to focus on and doesn't mess with sleep. A friend of mine took Teva adderall 5mg once and he explained it the best. He said it gave him a coffee plus like boost and it did help him focus for hours. However, his intense focus wasn't spent on the things he needed to focus on, but rather wasteful things like games, music or whatever happened to be on his computer. This friend is a physicist. AUROBINDO helps me keep focused on what needs to be done (the reason I started taking adderall in the first place) rather tan what's in front of me or has distracted me. It's changed my life.

I did a little google investigation, for what it's worth to the next person researching Aurobindo generic Adderall...

Basically I found 4 differences while comparing both active & inactive ingredients for:
Teva Amphetamine/Dextro 20mg vs. Aurobindo Amphetamine/Dextro 20mg

The Aurobindo brand medication guide lists Povidone as an inactive ingredient. (Povidone is not listed an an inactive ingredient for Teva.)

A simple google search of "Povidone Inactive Ingredient" came up with:
"Povidone (polyvinylpyrrolidone, PVP) is used in the pharmaceutical industry as a synthetic polymer vehicle for dispersing and suspending drugs. It also acts as a disintegrant and tablet binder. It appears as white to off-white hygroscopic powder in its pure form and is readily soluble in water."

A follow-up google search of "Povidone Side Effects" displayed:
"Skin irritation. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur while taking povidone iodine topical: Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue).

*** I am aware that it states "povidone IODINE TOPICAL," but still found it relevant enough considering I read several user reviews stating they experienced swelling of the lips and tongue.*** Apparently it's not super rare to be allergic to Povidone. Who knew. Thanks Aurobindo!

Ok, moving along. Teva brand has 2 inactive ingredients that Aurobindo doesn't have. Teva has both compressed/compressible sugar and sodium saccharin. So Teva's taste sweeter because they literally are. I'm learning so much today!

Basic google results for "compressible sugar side effects" include: "While sugar is essentially non-toxic, it can be associated with dental caries, exacerbation of diabetes, and weight gain." The End.

Ok now sodium saccharin. Google search results "Sodium saccharin is the solid form of the artificial sweetener saccharin. Saccharin is non-nutritive and is used to add sweetness to beverages and foods without the calories or detrimental effects of consuming sugar." P.S. Saccharin was banned in the U.S. in the 80's but has now been officially un-banned. Heads up ya'll.

Sooo, that was long. But hopefully informative. Only other difference I found between Teva generic & Aurobindo generic is that one of the 4 active ingredients in Teva is listed as "Amphetamine Aspartate" whereas Aurobindo lists "Amphetamine Aspartate MONOHYDRATE." Not sure of the difference just yet...but I'm assuming there is one, or else wouldn't they just both be listed the same way?

I really wanted to write a post just saying "AVOID AUROBINDO AT ALL COSTS - IT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE POO." But then figured a little research may be more persuasive. And hey, everyone's bodies are different, maybe you'll love it...but prob not. Today's my first day ever taking Aurobindo and it legit made me feel like s*** all day. Like, really what's the point?

Good luck!

Good call. If you have a good, caring doc he/she will want you getting the best result possible from the med prescribed by THEM. My doc and I had a talk today about the insurance companies gaining power that is now surpassing the doc. All in the name of save a dollar. I've been taking 90x 15mg generic adderall for years. My new insurance plan, which I was forced to get due to the other two big name companies leaving my state, what was once thought of as the best company has now gained a monopoly and there are monthly count limits for every med I take. At least the controlled substances I take. My doc obviously said let's just give you 45 30mg, which she told me can be difficult to find in this town, so I go to a mom and pop place that always has everything and I get a brand never seen before the Auro's. My 15mg were always Barr or Sandoz. I'm also prescribed 60 klonopin1mg which was changed from 90 0.5mg bc of the count limit....I know a lotttt of folks get their benzos in 90 count and have for some time. And I take 60 suboxone 8/2mg which a new state law prohibits doctors from calling in schedule 3 narcotics. Sure I get not being able to call in schd 2 meds but this is causing a huge uproar from vets to pain management patients that can't get their Norcos called in or written with refills. Come on Norcos. really? This points directly to insurance companies wanting control over the doctors that can write whatever they want as long as it stays within the law and follow FDA prescribing guidelines, which can still be tweaked a little. So back to the Auro generics, I felt a dirtier chemical compared to my go to generics, which actually forced me to take my full daily dose of my suboxone and klonopin which is rare for me but it helped drastically. I have had generics that made me feel worse.... Corr for example is awful for this body. Can't take it. We're all different but I'm glad I found this thread because I will definitely ask my doctor to write Barr/Sandoz only on my script next month. Thanks for the idea! Your doctor should always want the most therapeutic thing possible for the patient and if they are that hard to find I know Publix in north AL carries Barr, but sure enough they didn't have the 30mg but they told me if anything is out of stock they can have it the next morning via FedEx which I think most major chains can do as well. CVS is such a garbage pharmacy...I've noticed they always have the worst generics of anyone. Rite Aid is solid and the small town mom and pops are usually solid too. But seriously F*** Corr and CVS!

This is exactly my story..my regular pharmacy was out of Adderall by TEVA so I went to CVS & was given the 30 MG made by Aurobindo Pharmacy. It was even lighter orange & felt like picking air up..I just found out they are known for leaving out certain ingredients..Getting mine refilled today & it's definitly the Adderall by TEVA @ MY regular pharmacy. I knew I wasn't imagining being less focused & been having extra anxiety...How is it legal for Pharmacies to use manufacturers that don't put the right amt of ingredients in people 's medication they rely on to function & we put our trust in the pharmacy to provide the best of generic that works as well as name brand. I am so upset about this. This pharmacy needs to be investigated.

I have been taking the Teva brand from Walgreens for about a year and everything was good. A few days ago I went to CVS for my refill because it was near the doctor office and I thought nothing of it. They carry a generic made by Aurobindo which I had not heard of but assumed must be similar to Teva. I WAS WRONG. The Aurobindo brand is much stronger and lasts in my system much longer. I took half of a 20mg pill at 3:00PM and could not fall sleep at all that night. I went into work the next day on no sleep. The second day I took the half 20mg pill at noon and I again could not fall asleep that night. On top of that, it makes me jittery and LESS focused, plus my heartbeat seems to increase. I would not recommend this brand which most CVS stores now use and will be going back to Walgreens for future refills.

First it was the pink corepharma that was making me sick. Now it is this manufacturing company. Omg I've never felt so sick in my life. I'm new to North Carolina and only know the CVS pharmacy but they made me feel awkward switching from pink to orange so if rather just find a pharmacy where Teva is carried.

what is the HPLC method for adderall amphetamine and dextroamphetamine?

My pharmacy recently had Aurobindo for the first time. They have ALWAYS had Corepharma, so I don't know if this was a fluke or if it's a permanent thing. After reading everything on the internet, I was worried about taking it. Thankfully I have found no difference between it and Corepharma. They have about the same strength, and they both vary in their formula (because Corepharma isn't consistent with their formula either). The only thing that is off-putting is the weird chalkiness. I'm sensitive to changes in my body, so I'd know if there was a major difference. I can feel the difference between Teva and Corepharma. I feel no difference between Corepharma and Aurobindo.

Not to downplay anyone's feelings on the matter, but sometimes when people post things online, other people start feeling the same things. This happens a lot when people panic. I can't help but wonder if that's the issue, rather than it being an issue with the drug itself.

Totally wrong...Corepharma is the one that could be passed off as the brand name if they only used the same sugary teva fillings to addict our youth...i dont think they taste that way for any reason other than children....but now all they are is a sugar pill when i last had them (a terrible month). I noticed at home i forgot to check and they f***ed up giving me the b974' 30s, usually before 2016 they were the best around...now id take 15 mil of core over anything from teva... auro will be your methamphetamine in a pill answer.... mylan sux as usual... core is perfect, a little speedy (it is speed lol) but coming from a person who used to get the dp 30's for free medical approved that's the teva brand name 800 dollar prescription... the corepharmas are better... i did a blind parachute evaluation and the best of the two was the core....dont ever complain on here about how you got screwed because you can get what you order, just check and actually open and count even the pills...i have had mistakes, wrong meds, over count/under....just make sure you never leave until you have what you need and your good...its always stressful but now ralphs just always has new core's but trust me as a person who is so involved in these things....either give me CORE or CLOSE THE DOOR!

I agree totally, anymore you must ask the pharmacy what generic of adderall they carry and ask it every time because I've went to the pharmacy one and time and it was Barr teva and the next time something else. Aurobino is the worst of all; no motivation, all I want to do is sleep and have increased anxiety. But also mylan and malinkroft are both complete crap. The FDA regulations says that 80% of the active ingredients are the same as brand and there is no way this is true with these generics!

I agree! I've had a wasted month on Adderall by Aurobindo. Ask every time or better yet check with your pharmacy every month to see which generic they have. I had mine filled for 2 years at the same pharmacy and was always given Cor-pharma. It's not the best like Sandoz but this Aurobindo is like taking something that makes you anxious and lazy at the same time!
