Suboxone Dr In Tri-cities Wa That Will Prescribe Clonazepam (Top voted first)

Updated

I just moved to Tri-Cities Washington from cross country & I’m currently on Suboxone, Clonazepam & a antidepressant. I’ve also been smoking pot since I got here because I have serious pain issues. Does anyone know of any Drs here that could help me out? My dr from back home has been seeing me until we got settled but is about to release me. I’ve been clean from street drugs for 13 years, can anyone please give me some drs recommendations? Thank you!

Re: jenitive (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks for replying I really appreciate it. Unfortunately Anacortes WA is about 4 & 1/2 hours away from me. If you mean Portland Oregon (sorry I’m still so new to the area) that’s about 3 & 1/2 hours too. I’m more in the middle of Walla Walla & Yakima if that makes sense. I lucked out with my doctors back home & now I know I’m going to have a problem finding a doctor that will prescribe both. My anxiety is insane without my pins I don’t know what I’ll do. Again I really appreciate your help!

Re: Jenitive (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

Look for a Psychiatrist/Addictionologist near you. I know it sounds bad but that might be best bet. Also get into a primary care doc and ask for a referral.

Re: Jenitive (# 3) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks again I really do appreciate it. I live in Richland it’s part of what they call Tri-Cities here. There’s 3 cities close & I've been told they call it that. I had no idea they called that area it as well. Thanks for letting me know. Thanks for all the advice I figured I’d have to go that route. Not always the greatest one. Thanks so much for checking out for me as well that’s so kind of you! I can’t thank you enough for the look out. I always try to help others if I can, we’ve all been there.
Thank you!

Most Suboxone and Methadone programs don't prescribe any Benzos due to the high risk of overdose when combined with any variety of overdose. I think It's a liability thing. My tip is to get your Klonopin from a mental health provider, like a ARNP at a counseling center type provider. I'm not familiar with providers in the Tri Cities, but here in the Seattle Area there's a chain of Counseling centers / Mental Health providers called Valley Cities which has like 8 diff locations. They employ counselors and ARNP's who exclusively write any Rx's related to Mental Health, which includes anxiety drugs like Klonopin. Of course counselors can't prescribe any Rx's, and nowadays even PCP's have moved away from prescribing meds that fall under the jurisdiction of a specialist, i.e. blood thinners from an anticoagulation clinic, antidepressants, ADHD, and anxiety meds from mental health provideds. Check out their website for a better idea of what it is you're looking for. (www.valleycities.org) I'm not suggesting you travel to Seattle, I was just providing an example of the kind of provider that you should be looking for over there that would prescribe it for you without any hassle. Esp if its a current Rx from your current provider, you'd have no problem getting an ARNP to continue it for you. Good Luck to you!

Re: Joy (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks so much for your reply Joy! That is kind of how I was doing it back home but my sub dr & my Psychiatrist worked in the same practice. Both have also said they would write me references saying that I’m a good patient (I don’t abuse them) & that I do need my meds. So far looking around here I’m having a hard time finding the same type of set up. Thanks so much for the advice & the website as well. At this point I think I may look for a dr who can do those sublocade shots. I’ve been clean so long first was on methadone then switched to subs. I’d really like to come of subs all together. I’ve been doing some research & I’ve read you can do the shots for a few months & then just stop with minimal withdrawals. I’ll always need the Clonazepam because my anxiety is just crippling but I’d love to be sub free. Again thanks so much for all the info & your kindness to take the time to help me out.
Thank you!

I am not going to post it here, but I’ve lived in WA my entire life, and due to the draconian policies enacted by the PMP plus remarkably terrible luck on my behalf, I have actually gone through FIVE different psychiatrists in the past 11 years (two died, two retired, and I stopped seeing the other after they said they were no longer prescribing benzos to any of their patients. Although I have had problems with opiate use in the past, Suboxone/methadone/MAT/opioid replacement therapy drugs have awful side effects for me, and don’t reduce opiate cravings for me, so I’ve never officially seen a Suboxone doctor. However, if I want to actually function/avoid suicide, I have to stay on my life-saving prescriptions of Adderall IR (100mg/day) and aplrazolam/Xanax (4mg/day). Two of my former doctors who were prescribing me these two medications are also Suboxone providers. One is in Bothell, WA and the other is in downtown Seattle, so they are on the other side of WA state, but thought I’d mention it anyway. Both only accept private pay, but I’m actually not totally sure about this (I do know that I paid completely out of pocket, but I always have done this, and wouldn’t ever expect Medicaid to pay for that s***). If I remember correctly, first visit for both was either $350 or $400.

Re: Loki77 (# 5) Expand Referenced Message

This is bulls***. I live in Portland and get my low dose pain meds and klonopin and the occasional soma from a PA-C. There are still good docs, nps, pa-c out there, just finding them is like finding affordable rental housing.

Re: Jenitive (# 9) Expand Referenced Message

I’m going to say you’re right there that was bulls***. We have had PMP back where the state I moved from for years & I have a long history of addiction as well. I’ve had no issues being on Suboxone & getting my Clonazepam when my drs worked together. I also knew of a lot of others back home that weren’t as serious about getting clean as I was & they were able to get the same meds prescribed to them. There are still good drs, etc out there I just need to find them. I’ve been doing some research, I have some names & I’m going to start make some calls. I’m really looking to get off Suboxone at this point & try the Sublocade shot. With my drs references I’m hoping it will be a bit easier.
