Need Help Finding Doctor To Prescribe Either Oxycodone Vicodin Or Methadone 10mg For My Chronic Pain (Page 25) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have been suffering from chronic pain for 7 years and have always been on and off pain meds from tylenol 3 to 90mg methadone at the worst of any ever taken. I decided to dose down & get off of methadone as I did not care for the "clinic" enviroment per say as I was using more for pain then for addicition. I found a dr that prescribed me the pain meds for breakthrough pain and the pill form of methadone 10mg was what I chose but now he is gone as he lost his license which sucks for me because NO ONE will give me anything, not even the methadone unless I go back to the stupid clinc and I so don't want that... DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A DR. that would prescribe anything or just something to get me through life with less pain? I am in the twin cities of Minnesota and I will drive if need be.

CeeCee- I'm in the Twin Cities also, struggling with finding a compassionate and understanding doctor. Can you please share who your dr is? They are so few and far between, I'm just frustrated.

Also jedecia, tramadol is level 4 in only a few states, and level 5 in others, so your next step isn't schedule 2; a doctor will try weaker rx's first.

Does anyone know a doctor in Portland, Oregon who will put a patient back on there 3- 80 mg. Now worse, and that's by a hundred fold when they said he was a good patient and on a controlled pain amount. But, when they said the they had no more room. Go get a primary care doctor to carry your contract, and no one would. Will, after 4 years on that dose they cut him in hakf in 2 and a half months. He now can hardly walk, or work, and screams out at night. If anyone knows who to turn to for Good Pain management well, please help! He's in agony, and worse was his doctor left and he singed a new contact, and was tricked into going back to the old place to be evaluated only. Not. That doctor never saw him again. That same place can see how much worse he is , and it's all about the Money! The same 4 titles they used before and there just higher priced now. $ 267.00 to $300.00 a visit for a refill? I can tell you the next name of the visit before he even goes, as it's that obvious! It's beyond cruel, and insurance fraud! They don't care what they did to him, and what there doing to him now, and you would have to be blind not to see how much agony he's in. So, please if you know of real pain management doctor or clinic in Oregon please let us know. Thank you.

I need to agree - the constant "tell me where I can find a doctor to prescribe me ___" does make people in this forum look like drug-seekers; probably because many are. I've read numerous "my doctor retired" or "my pain clinic closed" posts. If your doc retired or your pain clinic closed for real, you'd be referred elsewhere. Some people even have the nerve to spell out the drug(s) they expect. A prescription for anything from a doctor is based on the doctor's decision, not the patient's decision. The doc went to school for a very long time; most know their stuff. Unfortunately, there is limited education regarding substance abuse in Med School - but it probably doesn't take long for a doctor to size up a drug-seeking patient.

I need a north SD/San Diego doctor to prescribe Norco. I've tried the stronger stuff, and hate it. I'm losing my doctor and have Medicare.

I've been on this for 2 years successfully.

Does anyone know a kind doctor? I've been looking...what a nightmare!

I have tons of records to support my injuries.

Thanks.

I COMPLETELY understand what "doctor shopping" means. It CAN mean going to multiple doctors, yes. It can also mean hunting down the one doc that will write that precious Rx for the drug we want - even though we've seen 100 doctors before this one who have deemed the drug we're seeking as inappropriate.

I am not judging - I am stating facts. Addiction is a nasty disease. We justify our need for the substance at all costs - sometimes without even knowing it. So, I wish you well on your "medication hunt". And I hope to God that you receive whatever the proper treatment for whatever your condition truly is. Just please remember - pain is a signal that something is wrong ... it's not a signal that we need opiates. Think about it - these docs aren't being cruel necessarily. Maybe they're just being honest with you and you don't want to hear or face the truth,

Your "perhaps" about my insurance situation (Medicare Part D) and whether I experience chronic pain (which I do ...) are way out of line. This is a FORUM TO DISCUSS MEDS AND CHRONIC PAIN... what it is NOT is a place to solicit names of doctors willing to dole out a person's drug of choice. Like it or not, neither you nor I have medical licenses or DEA numbers - and we therefore need to be able to trust a physician's judgment. When the physician says "No OxyContin" or "Sorry that's in on the morphine dose increase" there is usually a darn good reason.

I find KJB and Kevin's comments are right on the money. I have a "helpful" suggestion for Sara: Just go to any large city. Hang out near a methadone clinic. You'll find your "doctor" quickly. That would be the person whispering "perks, vikes" ... Of course, you may pay a bit more, and no insurance will be accepted...

I don't care what people say. It's not the doctor's fault its the people's faults for wanting to get out here and act like ediotes and the suboxen medicines don't do a damn thing for pain

I ordered tramadol right online, not too long ago, I paid a hundred bucks for 90 of them and they ship right to your house

Wow. I am appalled at the number of posts that come across here! Seeking meds by City and State name makes each one of you lool like drug abusers. So sad. So very sad!

Avoiding an addiction - whether you care to accept it or not - IS helpful.. What is NOT helpful is people requesting names of doctor from whom they can get the specific medications that they have self-prescribed..... if you can't handle that, perhaps it is YOU that should considering "going away" - maybe to a drug rehab.

Sara - I am 57 years old. I had collected SSDI for 12+ years for chronic pain issues. I returned to work after participating in a state-funded rehab program - part of my program was becoming a licensed social worker who specializes in treatment of Subtance Use Disorder. Drug-seeking behavior is painfully obvious.

I was and am treated appropriately with the correct medications at the correct doses. My insurance is partially state-funded and Medicare (I cannot afford Part B). Having said that, my decision was to trust the doctors treating me rather than come to a Chat Forum and specify that I need Norco at a certain dosage level and I am having trouble finding a prescriber. YOU don't get to decide what medications you receive since YOU don't have a medical license or a license to dispense controlled substances. Norco, Vicodin, Anexsia, (all of the hydrocodone/acetaminophen combo drugs) are right on the verge of being moved from Schedule III to Schedule II, which will mean: 0 Refills, max of a thirty day supply, and face-to-face appointments with the prescriber to renew the prescription. Currenlty, Schedule III substances can be called in by phone and are refillable for up to 6 months. Kiss those days goodbye - and put the blame squarely where it belongs - on drug-seekers like you ...
That being said, I was pleased to read that the FDA is approving a device that will definitively show whether a person is actually in pain or just saying s/he's in pain. The device measures the body's natural pain response - so the pill-seekers will soon need to find another scam to run to get their drugs. There's a difference between "drugs" and :"medicines" - it's obvious and shouldn't need explaining.

CeeCee, Can you let me know which doctor you are referring to? I live in Shakopee and have chronic pan from fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, & sever joint pain from celiac disease. The only thing that makes me pain free (Ive tried 9 meds) is hydrocodone or oxycodone. Just want it to be simple!

Glad u found someone and just make sure he gives you a recommnedation then you won't have to worry about that if he does re-tire. I would never recommend going on methadone but get 5 mg or 10 mg methadone pill instead of juice. u can take it lot less then juice. I can take half of dose of pills versus the liquid and I felt worse from the liquid like straight up withdrawl which I found very interesting.
p.s if this e-mail doesn't work and interested and e-mail don't work re.post on here.
Good luck
