I'm 55 year old and was prescribed nasonex for ear aches several yeaars ago. Had some vision problems(floaters) and was refered to an opthamologist to find out I have Glaucoma.(No family history) Had to have laser surgery for it 2 years ago. Saw a recent commercial suggesting a link with the nasonex and have stopped using.

Any of the following accomplished attorneys who practice in the medical area can get the case started.

These are DC lawyers but the case will be nationwide for all of us. Refer to this site for possible members of the class action suit.

I've been using Nasonex for many years for recurrent Sinus Infections, in 2010 I started to develop problems with my left eye, I was diagnosed with Optic Nerve Damage, I was clueless and so were my doctors about the side effects of Nasonex because it was never mentioned, but now I've developed problems with my right eye and I'm completely devasted. I need to know if there is anyone specifically in Toronto, Canada that can direct me to a lawyer so I can file a class action law suit against the makers of this horrible drug, please help?

I am looking also for any class action law suit due to post Nasonex use obtaining cataract at the early age of 48 and insurance only allowing me to have surgery with choice of one physician only who procedure best fits older adults.

Canadian mom Says:

My eye doctor said I was one of 2 patients with very similar problems following the use of Nasonex. I have some eye problems, recurrent seizures (I had my first 1 hour after my first dose of Nasonex, called 911 and I have since had them regularly), and nerve damage which at times is quite debilitating. Merck is not reporting these side effects in their literature, but surely they are aware? I was extremely sick for about a month after taking Nasonex, with breathing problems, recurring tightness in my chest and severe pains. I still have chest pain 4 months later, as well as the problems listed above.

I have reported my side effects to Health Canada - the section tracking side effects is called Vigilance Canada.

We should set up a social media page perhaps to spread awareness.

Doctors are not properly reviewing the side effect risks. My doctors were unfamiliar with the risks of glaucoma using Nasonex. However, here is the information from the manufacturer stating the risk of glaucoma:

I am sorry to hear about what you have had to go through. I was taking Nasonex since beginning of April and began feeling a tightness in my chest and then the horrible shakes and anxiety began. I have not been able to eat for 3 days because of the anxiety. I stopped taking Nasonex this past Monday and finally looked up anxiety issues with this medication. I live in Ontario and will definitely be reporting this. I have 3 young boys and I feel like I am falling apart. I also have bad headaches and terrified to take any medication at this point. I can't sleep or work!

Are the DC lawyers able to hep obtain medical research proof on why Nasonex causes significant eye side effects. My eyes at age 48 needing cataract surgery with one eye having complications changing my life. I do not know of any other exposure to explain this early eye problems. It would not surprise me how many complaints I am noting similar to mine yet the manufacturer of Nasonex is taking no responsibility. Any research known to help so many victims.

Bobbijaws Says:

I have used Nasonex regularly for the past 15 to 20 years. In my mid fifties I was diagnosed with bilateral cataracts and eventually had surgery on both. Within one year of last cataract surgery I was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration. I know some people with it, but all were diagnosed in their late 70's or later. I am concerned that should I live another 20 years, someone will need to be responsible for me as I should be totally blind by then. As soon as I realized the possible complications from Nasonex, I discontinued its use, but the damage had been done and now cannot be reversed.

I have been a user of Nasonex for the past 15 to 20 years. I am now 68 years old. I had surgery for my first cataract when I was 57 and the second was done three years ago. I was diagnosed with macular degeneration 16 months ago at the age of 66. How can a pharmaceutical company promote a product that can be so harmful to the eyes of its users? If there is a class action suit pending, I wish to be a part of it. Thank you!!!

Re: Louise (# 17)

My wife used Nazonex and we believe had a bad reaction to it. She ended up in the Hospital with pneumonia, viral infection, and congested heart failure. She believes this medicine caused all this. We have no proof of this but rea l suspensions.

I took Nasonex for many years when it first came out and I developed Cataracts in both eyes. I had Cataract surgery in the left eye on October 2016 and in the right eye on December 2016. I would have went blind if I was unable to pay for the surgery. My doctor told me I am at risk to develop Glaucoma. I want to sue the drug company that makes Nasonex.
