I think that the Internet is a very useful tool to gain information. I also think that this website provides a good forum for discussion of medications. What troubles me, however, is the huge number of people placing posts asking where they can find a doctor to prescribe large amounts of narcotics, supposedly for pain management. Most allege that their doctors "moved" or "stopped prescribing". I have sincere doubts about these posters. People posting these kinds of questions are rare in reality; doctors don't move without referring patients to other health care providers. Doctors also don't just "stop prescribing" - unless it's for a good reason. One of the good reasons a doctor can stop providing prescriptions is if s/he thinks a patient is taking a ...

People that take Tizanidine will test positive for opiates. It's considered a narcotic, because there's 1 ingredient that they use in this and its used in opiates like percocet. The reason I know? - I just got prescribed it and it is a muscle relaxer, but my doctor told me it is considered a narcotic and he gave me a urine stick to take home, so he knows I'm taking it. Just so you people know, it will show up positive. Editor's note: Tizanidine is not considered an opiate. It is classified as a muscle relaxer [1]. ## You are wrong. It absolutely is not a controlled substance therefore not a narcotic. There are no opiates in zanaflex. I'm trying to find out about Dipirona, if it's a narcotic? I know it's used after surgery. ## Hello, Amy! How are you? No, it is not. Many countries don't even use it, anymore, due to the evidence that was found of toxicity. Its typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may also include nausea, dizziness and vomiting. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Dipirona is a brand name of the drug Metamizole [1]. Verwon is right that it is not a narcotic (opiate) drug. Here in the USA it is not currently available anymore. "It remained available worldwide until the 1970s, when it was discovered that the drug carries a small risk of causing agranulocytosis, a potentially fatal condition." [1]

does olanzapine contain opiates ## Nope - no opiates in Zyprexa... however there is a very small benzo component - small enough that a benzo addiction/withdrawal issue would be almost impossible. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, sedation, somnolence, and weight gain. So when your tired of suffering rejoice in your future ## Hello, David! How are you? Thank you for your very helpful and inspiring post. Hello I'm currently seeking a pain clinic/dr in michigan that can help my get methadone for pain/opiate dependency! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! ## Hello, Peeker! How are you? If you've been treated at an addiction clinic, then a regular doctor will be unable to prescribe it for you, it is illegal for them to do so. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If you've only been taking it for pain management, then a doctor could prescribe it for you, but most are reluctant to do so, due to its severely habit forming potential. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area that night be able to help?

I.have been on opiate alot of different kinds. I found perkacet to be the best for me cuz I only need 1 sometimes two. I have arthritis pretty bad. So does anyone know the difference between perkadan or perkacet. And how much oxycodone are in them? ## Hello, Sally! How are you? They both contain varying doses of Oxycodone, it's the other ingredient that's different. Percocet couples it with Acetaminophen, while Percodan couples it with Aspirin. I am taking a 80 mg a day of hydrocodone / Acetaminophen and trying lower down to 40 mg a day to 20 mg a day then 10 mg a day, and 10 every 24 hours without having to have extreme opiate withdrawals, please tell me if I can use fioricet for opiate withdrawals. what do need to know. ## Hello, Will363! How are you? If you're doing a slow taper, your withdrawals should be minimal. How long have you been taking it? How fast of a taper are you doing? It takes at least a week, between each dosage drop, for your body to adjust. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And no, there is really nothing in the Fioricet to help.
