Re: Pin Cushion (# 278)
I so feel you on that. It should totally be between patient & doctor, because the drug addicts are still going to get their high. The only people this new law is hurting is us, THE CHRONIC PAIN SUFFERERS. I think it is a shame that doctors take an oath to do know harm, but that is exactly what they are doing. They are harming those of us who need it by cutting our quality of life down so low that many of us only see one way out! I wish we could see the light at the end of the tunnel, but until 90% of us stand up for our fellow men and women, there is no light at the end of the tunnel. So our only choice is die on our own terms or live in such excruciating pain and get depressed because we feel like a burden on our loved ones and because it hurts to even try to get out of bed most days.
Looking for walk in pain clinic close to or in Knoxville.

Yes Telemedicine is the real deal but you do live in TN which has strict regulations, and also pain medications are usually excluded from this type of new medicine.

Bulls***. They are the worst that I have ever been to. I have crushed and deteriated discs from a 40 ft. fall from a tree, arthritis everwhere., horrible headaches and the list goes on. I've been on pain meds for 30 yrs. and they did nothing, but want to stick needles in me. I have been in 2 car wrecks and several motorcycle crashes.
I'm 62, from Knoxville, have back problems & was wondering if anyone ever heard of pain management out of there house and if they prescribe? Reason I ask is because I went last month and this morning paid the money and called in a prescription and I picked it up with no problem. I wasn't there but 15 min & he asked me everything on the phone mostly and was very nice and understanding. Anyone heard of this?
Dr. Sarlo isn't there anymore. He was always nice to me. I always made him smile. I went to him for 7 years & then I found another Dr. He said he would take me back anytime I needed to be seen. A lot of people didn't like him because he didn't take any s***. But I always smiled & had a sense of humor & he wasn't ever out of the way with me. Good luck getting help. Methadone & Suboxone are the worse 2 medications to withdrawal from. They stay on the Opioid Receptor in your brain 7-9 days longer than any other Pain Medicine. It's called P.A.W.S. (Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms). This to shall pass.
Does anyone know of a good pain management doctor in the Knoxville area? Please let me know. Thank you in advance.
Tennessee passed a law at the first of the year that says Doctors cannot prescribe narcotics and Benzos. I have PTSD and need valium for vertigo. I had to stop my xannax and ambien in order to get treatment for the pain. I had to leave one Pain Management clinic because they wouldn't allow me to use some leftover xannax for the vertigo. I found a pain management doctor who understands and told me to "do what I have to" to treat the vertigo. I get it when I get shingles in my inner ear and there is nothing to do but wait until they go away. When I get vertigo, I vomit up my pain meds and it throw s me into detox. I can't afford to run to the ER every time I get vertigo, for a shot of ativan. With my brain tumor, they want to give me an MRI every time I walk in the door and the last bill was $18,000. I am now at Omega Pain Management and the Doctor there is great. You might try him. They are on the same road as Park West Hospital.
I live in Knoxville, TN and I used Tennova Pain Center for almost 10 years, until they closed last spring. Since then it has been a nightmare finding another decent a reputable place to go. Stay away from Coffey Family Practice! They advertise that they do pain management and they will give you pain meds as long as they can keep over ordering procedures and make $$ off of you. My ENT Surgeon gave me a referral to Omega and I had an appointment within days. The Doctor there (Dr. Smelansky ?, not sure about the spelling). He is a Neurologist and a Pain Management Specialist and he is wonderful. He mainly does Orthopedic problems but he took me as a patient with my brain tumor, chronic shingles, cluster headaches and Neurotmesis from a dentist who severed my cranial nerve with an injection. He is awesome and really listens to his patients. It is by far the best Pain Management Doc I have ever had. You need a referral and he did start me out on a low dose. They took away my 20 mg oxycontin time release and only prescribed the 10 mg oxycodone X4 a day. He gave me my Lyrica with a 6 month supply, for the shingles. I would highly recommend him, especially for the people who have Orthopedic issues.
I need doctor number that will give pain med in in pain allay everyday
I have chronic pain and also PTSD. Are there any recommendations for a doctor that will actually listen to me and prescribe me medication? I live in TN but willing to see doctors out of state.
I have been prescribed oxycodone for pain and xanax for my PTSD. I just returned from being out of the country and am in need of a good doctor that will refill my medications.
Can anyone help? Need pain meds in Knoxville. I'm in extreme pain and can't get into a doctor for at least a month. Any help would really be appreciated.
