Need To Find A Doctor That Prescribes Pain Meds In Knoxville Tn

I just moved here and i have ra along with degenerative disc disorder that is extremely painful. I dont have a doc. so i haven't been taking any meds and it is hard to just walk. I am in pain everyday and need relief fast. Is there anyone y'all can suggest that may be able to help now?

I'm 32 and have been diagnosed with ra about 6 years ago. I have had 15 or so epidural injections and nerve blocking injections for my degenerative disc disorder i was told i needed to have surgery to replace two disc that are no longer there. Soon after i lost my insurance and it has been close to 2 years since i have been to a doc and i also have high blood pressure very high all the time with no meds. i'm not over weight i am healthy and really need help i dont have ins and cant get help. someone please help - everyday i get worse and i have aot of problems even walking now so i have a very hard time at work i just dont know what to do!

Hi Beth,

I'm really sorry to hear about your current health challenges. Is there any way you could qualify for medi-cal? I think your income needs to be below a certain number, or if you are unemployed you should also be able to qualify for state-assisted medical care.

Please don't give up - there are always options to finding proper medical care, even if you don't have insurance. There are medical clinics for such situations in most cities. Good luck and please keep everyone posted with your findings. Do you have any other questions or information to add? Please post back if you do...

I fully understand the need for correct medication when dealing with chronic pain. I myself am a breast cancer survivor and I have been on oxycontin for the past 8 years now. Things are starting to get better though. I understand that docs are not prescribing hardly anything anymore, thanks to all the junkies out there.

Hi, i just need to know that what prescription drug is stronger than percocet. i told me dr. that i didnt want all the acetaminophen as i have chronic back pain...havent heard back from him yet. anyone with chronic pain can let me know what helps them

Hey Margie I really liked all you had to say. I have just moved here and am being told I will have to wait atleast a week or 2 just to get into a pain management doc. I was in a very bad ATV accident about 7 months ago and am first lucky to be alive but have been left in iscruciating pain and have mri's to show. would realy like to talk to you about meeting up and talking.

You can get high blood pressure meds (Lisinopril) for 4.00 per month or 10.00 for 3 months at the Target Pharmacies.

Methadone is prescribed at pain clinics for chronic pain. I have been on it for about 3 years after my second rods were placed in my back. It doesn't mess up your head like hydrocodone, and you don't get the liver killer, acetaminophin.

do not do methadone it would be last resort it turns you in to a zombie honestly and i have been on everything you can think of and this is the worst if you dont have it for like over three to four days it is awful honestly. i had a bad bad car wreck flew to lifestar and i can not find a doctor to take my tenncare or medicare can anyone help me and dont write on here just email me please i would be so grateful i just want to take the pain away please thank u very much

methadone was the only drug that didn't affect my brain the way other opiates did. I started with 20mg a day then after about a year I went on 30mg for 4 years and after that long it did not help the pain, so to get off I reduced the dose by 2 1/2 mg per month with no withdrawal effects. I have pain 24/7, but live with it. After having rods done in my back twice, a plate in my neck and a botched hip replacement and in need of a knee replacement for 2 years now, I'm surviving with the help of a relationship with Jesus and weekly visits to my chiropractor and many food supplements. The drugs will kill you sooner than living with the pain.

You must have all your MRI"S and X-Rays and anything that states that you need to see a pain doctor

Am just posting a reply to a great deal of ignorance I just got through reading here. For you folks that are asking for a pain med that doesnt have the crap associated with it like "acetaminophens etc.that damage so many things in your body then a couple of you said some profound things. Methadone. If you care to do the research and I recommend one that "really" has pain all the time should you will find that it is one of the least invasive substances you can use to help yourself, Now, if you are looking for EUPHORIA or wanting to get high then perhaps you should continue licking or what the helll ever folks do to get to the "drug" that is perhaps coated or whatever inisde of drugs like oxycontin or other timed released things that get you high. I laugh when I read all the complaints about some company that had to put special ingredients to keep the junkies from injecting them or whatever and how these folks were mad because they were having to do something to (as in someones statement above "GET OFF") by breaking down some timed release coating. If that is what you are doing then you need a damn psychiatrist and not a pain doctor. You are the very people that are making it hard for folks with plausible problems that need help to walk etc. Not help to walk screwed up or clean up your house quicker, or whatever. I am so frustrated hearing folks that have no medical problem except addiction trying to lie, fraud or whatever just to get meds that folks with legitimate reasons have hard times getting. The doctors at pain clinics ( some of them) save folks at the end of their line every day but folks wanting to "get off" screw that up for everyone. Why dont you go out and get hooked on heroin if that is what your after and leave the legitimate patients a chance. If you are truly in chronic pain and are trying to work and not live every f ing day of your life hurting like hell then methadone is a legitimate response. I have taken it for 14 years and it allows me to function. And yes I did a great deal of reasearch and while methadone when not taken properly or for the folks wanting to get high then know this. You screw around with methadone it will kill you. But to listen to your doctor and go by his knowledge instead of the knowledge some of you think you have and have a legitimate reason for taking it then it can really help.No you dont get high on it, It just does one thing for pain patients and it does it well. It gets rid of your pain. As for the unfortunate souls that said it turned them into zombies? Somehow I feel like they fit that description long before pain became an issue. Just educate yourself tremendously. And for the other ones that are looking to get high, go get heroin,and quit screwing around with the medical profession, which will get you away from folks that really need these meds to get BY not to get HIGH. As for the lady that is offering to sell her "extra" pills I thought I had heard it all before but I guess not. Extra my a**, this is the worst part of the problem, How is it that you can sit back, screw up other folks lives without a care in the world, making it hard for the ones that need meds and yet you have the nerve to profit off of others problems. Is money worth that much to you Marge????? You just need to be thankful Im not working in Federal Law Enforcement anymore. You are tempting me to come out of retirement.

I live in Knoxville and go to a pain dr. to get methadone for my pain! Best choice out there, very cheap! Don't want to give info on my post. I will tell you where you can go if you just call me!

Connie, I live in Sevier County and am looking for a doctor to prescribe methadone for chronic pain. My doctor has retired and I am having trouble finding a doctor in Knoxville, Morristown or Sevierville that will write Methadone for pain. I have been on it for 15 years for chronic pain management. Any help would be appreciated.

Moved to Knoxville from NC. Need to find Dr that prescribes meds. Have arthritis over much of my body. My Dr in NC has been giving me Percocet for several years. Also have had two back operations also operation on hands. Now have bone on bone in my back. Hurt all over my body. Need help I am 77 years old an having trouble finding a Dr that will continue my meds. Dr in NC will provide my records. Someone let know of a Dr I can call for help with this matter. I have Ins. I so feel you on that. It should totally be between patient & doctor, because the drug addicts are still going to get their high. The only people this new law is hurting is us, THE CHRONIC PAIN SUFFERERS. I think it is a shame that doctors take an oath to do know harm, but that is exactly what they are doing. They are harming those of us who need it by cutting our quality of life down so low that many of us only see one way out! I wish we could see the light at the end of the tunnel, but until 90% of us stand up for our fellow men and women, there is no light at the end of the tunnel. So our only choice is die on our own terms or live in such excruciating pain and get depressed because we feel like a burden on our loved ones and because it hurts to even try to get out of bed most days.
