I agree 100% I have an attorney and will be part of your class action suit. My email is xxxxx@xxx {edited for privacy}. I have not been able to fill my script for weeks and then was given a tainted injection which I almost died from all because they pharmacys won't fill my prescription. Which is from a well respected DR in Tampa FL. This month has been a nightmare and cost nearly 50k in medical bills. The pharmacies I have found will not accept insurance and were charging $1700 for 120 oxycodone 30mg then the others I found take insurance but not for this one script. It is bull s*** and I am fed up with this make believe shortage. The government is praying on the public and becoming legalized drug dealers. I thought there were laws in place for price gouging and there is no way a pharmacy can just say they won't fill it because they don't like you which has been the story all week for me. I went to one today which was a 2 hr drive and they said since I don't live close to them they won't fill it and all the places by me are out or not accepting new patients people get sick every day how can they decide not to give you the medication the doctor has prescribed for you. I thought they took an oath to treat people not cause more harm. I'm so frustrated

Hi, I have a bimalleolar fracture in my right ankle. I can provide x-rays. The problem is that a pain management clinic in my town cannot see me until a month from now. I also have Fibromyalgia and prior to the fracture I was prescribed Norco 5mg PRN 120Qty. I would go through this prescription every 2 months. Its three weeks out from my surgery and my doc wants me to be "weaning" off Lortab 5mg and Ibuprofen. Please if you can provide any helpful information, anything that might help make my case with my orthopedic surgeon until I have an appointment set with a local PM clinic in MD, I would greatly appreciate it. I want to show that I am not receiving proper pain relief for this extremely painful fracture, I had a pre-existing prescription for Norco 5mg for the treatment of Fibromyalgia and now I am being asked to not take it anymore, and on top of it all my ankle is still far from being healed up. I am just beginning physical therapy and the pain has started up again so bad, it feels like it did when I originally broke it.

I'm prescribed oxycodone 30 mg. Here in Fl for over ten years & for ten years I have filled my script at Publix, today I was told I will no longer be able to fill my script because I don't have enough prescriptions that are not from a pain Dr. I also take blood pressure meds & ibuprofen. There is a good chance that without my meds I will be unable to perform my job & loose it. I understand the need to stop the pill mills & all that bs but here in Fl. We have gone from one extreme to another. I have the right to see a doctor & have my pain treated & my prescription filled, simple as that. I would like to be part of a class action law suit but what am I to do until then ? I have no choice but to see an attorney on my own & buy dope off the street. If the DEA were doing their job then heroin wouldn't be cheaper & easier to buy than the medication I have a script for. I would think that the pharmaceutical companies would be lobbying to make the drugs they sell more available or the illegal drug dealers will get all the business. Only in the good old US of a.

I am in TN. I have had the same problems, for longer than 2 months. I had back surgery, (rods, screws, a bone graft, a cage), and am in horrific pain, so I have a legitimate need for my pain medication, (morphine sulfate and oxycodone for breakthrough pain). I have been to 100 pharmacies and everyone of them has told me that they're out of those medications and unable to fill my prescriptions. What are people like us supposed to do??

I suffer from degenerative disc disease and a lung condition similar to Cystic Fibrosis. I have been on 15mg of oxycodone for over a year now at 6 times a day. I also use a Fentanyl patch. I have not been able to get my oxy's filled in weeks. I have a total legit doctor who is well respected and been on this pain program for a year now. I called Humana who is my RX plan provider and they tell me to use right source. So I jumped through all the hoops and mailed them the hand written prescription only for them to mail it back telling me they no longer ship schedule 2 narcotics to the state of Florida. No other state has a block but Florida. I DON'T GET IT. SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO. I have trouble getting out of bed now and my lungs are filling up with fluid now. I am looking at the possibility of spending christmas in the hospital and I have my 2 young children full time. I sure don't want them to spend christmas in a foster home while I am in the hospital. Seems to me the DEA and others are breaking the law and making honest folk suffer for NO REASON AT ALL! Please help I'm outta ideas. I'm not a druggie nor a drug dealer but the sure treat me like one. This is a crime! Please Help

My Doctor informed me today that several of his patients are filling their pain meds out of the state. He claimed that he wasn't sure weather it was NJ, Las Vegas or both. It seems that it's cheaper to fly out of the state of Florida and back than it is to fill pain meds at a local pharmacy. The fact that even one person has to go without pain meds because of the mistakes and greed of others is just wrong. If the DEA were doing their job twelve years ago when this all started and didn't let this become out of control in the first place, then innocent, legitimate, pain control patients would not be suffering today. I'm ashamed to say I live in a country that treats it sick and elderly in such a way.

I happen to be one of those poor people that can't fill my perscription. The DEA is targeting the wrong people. Something has got to be done asap. My thought is " If a Patient has been seeing the same Dr, for over 1 year then that Patient should be given a Perscription License. of some kind. This license could be given by the Dr. or by a County or State Official. I've been seeing my same Dr for over 6 years on the same perscription doing fine. Lately I've had to switch a few times. Because of not being able to find my Medicine. Remember the old days when you had to sign the Contract ? That only one Pharmacy would be used. This is now a big FAT joke. I am really thinking of suing the DEA. This is bull s***. My Dr, truly feels so bad for his Patients. Wishing there was something he could do.

I think your friend is confused about being able to fill Perscriptions in other States. Narcotic prescriptions are different from State to State. I had a perscription for Perocet with me from FL when I went to NY State. for my Fathers funeral. No pharmacy would fill it. Even though I had filled this same prescription from the same Dr. at another Walgreens. I found one Walgreens in N.Y. they wouldn't fill it either. I got my Dr on my cell phone and handed to the Pharmacist. Only because of my circumstance did the Pharmacy allow my Dr. to give a script verbally for 5. This was over 20 years ago.

OMG I am so sorry for you and I also have the same story as you. I am so pissed off at the DEA ! WTF are they thinking ??? We are being punished for no reason. Like you I was on Oxy.'s for years, before this BS started. Then my Dr. had to switched me to Dilaudid because I could not find my script. any where. This worked a couple of times. Now the Dilaudid is "back ordered " pharmacies are out.
2 different Pharmasist's told me it will not come in til next year !!!! The stupid DEA has regulated the amount of pills (pain) that can come into Southern FL - Palm Beach , Broward, and futher South. My Dr. switched me to Morphine today. He said expect the same thing to happen with this drug. All other Dr.'s and Chronic Pain sufferiors (like us ) are doing the same thing. My Dr. suggested for me to contact my Congressman, I plan on doing so. Tomorrow I am also calling the t.v. stations. I plan on making a call to my Attorney. I want to file Suit against the DEA.. Attention : All Chronic Pain sufferer's we need to band together and make a big statement. Lets all contact the News. Write letters, Picket , the Pharmacies. What ever we can do to bring attention to our self.

If you actually read what I wrote, I didn't say a friend told me about filling out of state, I said my doctor did. I don't really see a reason why he would lie but I have been lied to by just about everyone involved in pain Mgmt.so anything is possible. I was switched today myself to ms contin and had no problem filling my script. It remains to be seen weather or not this drug will work as well as oxycodone though. If I have learned anything throughout all this, I have learned that it's all pretty much up to the pharmacist. I have a decent relationship with mine & although he was not completely honest with me in the beginning, he did eventually tell me what I needed to do in order to continue to be able to to fill my scripts and so far he has kept his word.for those of you who are still unable to fill your scripts, you have my deepest sympathy.

Yes, I did bring my records but my pharmacist wasn't really interested in looking at them, he seemed more concerned about the medications I was taking. This is day two on Ms Contin and so far I am doing okay.
