It can be used for both acute pain and chronic pain. Morphine is also frequently used for pain from myocardial infarction and during labour. It can be given by mouth, by injection into a muscle, by injecting under the skin, intravenously, into the space around the spinal cord, or rectally.[5] Maximum effect is around 20 min wh...

Fake MS Contin
6 Replies RSS
I am currently prescribed MS Contin for pain and while effective I sometimes feel like some of the pills are fake. I get no relief and feel withdrawal symptoms even. I have looked at them under a magnifer but they all look the same. Is it possible that someone at my pharmacy is switching some of my pills for pacebos? If so, how do I deal with it? ## I am experiencing the same problem. Generic MS Contin ER, 60mg tablets. I have been taking these for 11 years, but for the past week and a half my pain level became extremely high. Couldn't sleep, couldn't keep still. Unbelievable pain. I decided to stop taking them and started taking some 30mg pills I had. Pain is starting to subside after 2 days. How can I have the 60mg pills examined to see if they are counterfeit? BTW, these were...

Now I've switched to Oxycodone 80mg, q12 healing with 10/325 percocet 6x a day. THE OXY is NOT HOLDING Me-- in 5 Hrs I'm in Pain - 6 bad pain- by 8hrs I am crying. I have many chronic pain issues. HELP!! What WILL HELP so I can function and possibly return to work? ## Hello, Lilly! How are you doing? I am very sorry that you're in so much pain. Unfortunately, not every medication works for everyone that tries it. Have you ever used Fentanyl, yet? It is the most potent opiate available, so it may help you. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Ms Contin Detox

iam takin 100mg ms contin for a year now and am sick of it what would help in detoxing. I dont want to take more drugs and i know the pains in the legs are coming because i detoxed of panadiene forte years ago i would just like some tips ## What type of leg pain did you have? What is just aching, or was it muscle cramping? I have done this exact detox, cold turkey, so I can try to warn you of what to expect and give a few tips. If it was leg cramping, it might be due to the fact that narcotics tend to sap the potassium in your body and a low-dose supplement can help with that. You should check with your doctor first, though, because high potassium levels can also be dangerous, so you shouldn't add a supplement, without their approval. If you can get your doctor to help, by prescribi...

Does MS Contin make you sleepier than Oxycontin
3 Replies RSS
I am taking 3 30 mgs of MSContin per day. It makes me sleepy and I need a nap about an hour after taking it. My Doctor is willing to switch me to OxyContin 30 mgs 3 30 mgs per day. Which medicine makes you sleepier? ## No one can say for sure if a certain med will make you sleepy. Morphine is more sedating, for most people, than OxyContin is. ## Hello, Candy! How are you? When I was on pain management for several years, Morphine always knocked me out, but I only experienced a little drowsiness with Oxycodone. However, as BL has stated, no one can say how any given medication will affect you. We are all different, so the only solution is to try it and see. How are you? Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so the dosages are not equivalent, which likely explains why you are in pain. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. As to the Lyrica, that may take 4 to 5 weeks, before it reaches its full level of ...
