Suboxone And Adderall (Page 2)

Updated

I started Suboxone four days ago. I am taking a whole 8 mg Suboxone twice a day. I also take 45 mg of Adderall a day for ADD and I need the Adderall because I am a college student. Is it harmful to take them together? The Suboxone has done excellent for me, and has kept the Oxycontin out of my mind. I got addicted to tabs when I was playing college baseball in order to play through two broken fingers and bum shoulder. So instead of doing a gut check time dealing with the pain through an ice bucket or taking some time off to heal up, because I was just a freshman and I was battling it out for starting spot with a all-conference senior. I became immune to the tabs, so a player introduced me to Oxycontin. I was taking 80 mg a day. This continued into the fall season of my sophomore year until I tore the ligaments of my throwing hand and had to have surgery. It was a career ending injury and rehab was nine months, during which I received Perocets. I began to stack them with Oxycontin and Adderall. This addiction almost destroyed my life.It almost cost me everything and put my parents through hell, not only physically but also financially cause I used the money they sent me for living expenses to support my habit. They continued to be my rock and never gave up on me. The Suboxone made me feel like life did before Oxy. I am now a junior and with the help of the Good Lord I am getting my life back. I would like to know if the 45 mg of Adderall is safe with the Suboxone? I am having to buy the Suboxone, is there a clinic I can go to that is not rehab to get prescribed or a doctor? What are my options? I went dry for a week but quickly relapsed, but this time I don't care how hard it is. So please any help with my options would be appreciated.

Any amphetamine will break down the opiates in your body. Methadone patients will be thrown into withdrawl symptons from aderal or other less strong amphetamines. Methamphetamine will break down your opiates as well. Suboxone does not stand a chance to do it's job if you are on an amphetamine. Get your head straight and go through some srious discomfort for just 48 hours and then half a strip will be just fine. Two days of that and then go down to cutting your strips into three pieces. After you take a third of a strip for three days you can take a third of a strip every other day. Then after three or four cycles like this or twelve days of very light dosing you need to just get a few valium and take them very sparingly to help get some sleep. There is no true painless detox. There is discomfort and bones are sore and you feel real weak.Look how your life went to the crapper.you will find the strength to do this and walk away when it is time.Don't use the valium or zany to sleep for more than a week. You will be trading one dependence for another.I have been there and i have done this.Any doctor that says you need to be on suboxone for more than 90 days wants you for a customer and not as a patient. Your life will be crap until you get clean. Do yourself a huge solid and just find the inner strength to get this done. It really isn't that hard. You have to want it or you are fooling only yourself. No one else is fooled by dishonesty when it comes to this crap. Good luck with your getting off the crap. The adderol is no good. You won't want/need it after you stay away from everything for 60 to ninety days. Hang in there. You can do this!

Nah, you looked for drugs in college because your and addict, hence the reason you still take them now and wrote excuses for "needing" to still take them. The combo of aderall and sub will cost you some serious money and only give you two more addictions.

I so believe that Suboxen is harder to get off than the oxy and the hydro. I have been on suboxen for 2 1/2 years and its killing me when I try to get off! No dought it was hard to get off the other drugs but it passed in 2 weeks suboxen has taken 6 weeks or more to get off! Hate this drug!

yes, I am prescribed the two together. It is starting to ruin my life again. Yeah my story sounds a lot like yours as well but when I read the post you wrote I had to read it again and I started to see the patters of the addicted brain thoughts. I can do this better, you are worried about not being able to find it that is a sure sign right there my friend that that is going to cause you problems. I would say HELL no they should not be prescribed together and I have lost a lot of respect for my doctor because of what she did. Yeah I admit it I did it I brought up the issue of thinking I was ADD and all that Jazz and sure I am some what burnt out and that is only to be expected when you have abused drugs and alcohol to the extreme for most of your life. I was on the subs just one 8 a day and was doing great had a few issues with taking ambien but I kicked that. Then I wanted the Adderall I do not know it I hit a point in the suboxone treatment that is causing me some issues or not but please listen to me. Get off the Adderall I am going to do it as well and you know what I said last night I said that this is it and I am not taking anymore at all period and i woke up and it was the first thing that I reached for this morning even before the sub this drug is going to cause ANY addict problems and especially if you have any other underlineing mental illnesses i.e obsessive compulsive disorder or bi-polar if you are bi-polAR THIS DRUG IS GOING TO MAKE YOU WORSE

Wow. This post is so old but holy crap! How could you be a nursing student and not have any idea that the cocktail you are taking is lethal. In no way shape or form should your doctor prescribe adderall and Xanax! Forget the fact that you are behaving like an addict by keeping it from her . If that combination of medication hasn't killed you yet, I'd be pretty surprised. You need a different doctor too because clearly yours doesn't have your best interests at heart. No doctor with any morality or conscience would prescribe to you like that.

NO METHADONE!!!!! BELIEVE ME. You need to detox use suboxone for no more than 7-10 days. Then get involved in the recovery world. I was on 200mg a day Methadone. HARDEST drug in thee world to detox. It gets in your bones, marrow, and tissues (10mg pills, 40's when I could find them, and liquid). I was sick 7 months (did natural) ( i do not suggest that). I have been in recovery for 7 years now. I have kicked MANY drugs MANY times, I would kick Hereon cold a million times again before I did Methadone even one more time.. Anyone who has fought addiction their whole life will say the same thing.. Please. Please, no methadone. You'll thank me, on some level.. I have fought addiction basically my whole life. TERRIBLE disease. But, Recovery IS possible. A drop of faith can lead to a life time of recovery! Good luck! Signed- A Daily Recovery Addict..

Jenny, it seems as though you are calling people who might share that Rehab may be needed or helpful are Hypocrites I did not need rehab either and am clean many years I'm on this sight to find answers for a friend who has opiate and amphetamine addictions and I only had opiate addictions To call anyone a hypocrite for sharing what could be lifesaving advice is extremely judgemental and not helpful to anyone .Also I never used a needle but to exalt and brag about all the supposed willpower you have by looking down your nose at those and using words like Nasty and U Never are the most hypocritical judgemental self righteous types of words I have read on all these posts I am not judging you as a person I'm saying those words were arrogant critical judgemental in and of themselves. None of us are in any special position to judge others addictions as nastier or try to act like we are any better by saying Well Id NEVER that's not helpful at all Let's keep in mind people are seeking helpful advice not opinions or bragimonys because it wouldn't be right to say your addictions and combinations are nauseating and mine are all right ain't cool that's just not gonna help or encourage anyone I hope by now you have figured that out and hopefully are on your own healing path to recovery Peace Out

Hey guys. I'm 24yrs old and I am an opiate addict. My doc is opana. I have been doing pills for about 2yrs.. inconsistently with the exception of the last 6 months..I have gone from a good hard-working mother to doing things like stealing& pawning things to get my meds. Mind you I do have legit medical issues, I just had a hysterectomy a week ago & I have masses on my lower back.. however,I smoke pot to help me eat & sleep, so I cannot go to a pain clinic. I have almost lost everything& am digging my way out of debt I've put on my family. I am ready for a change. I have starting taking 1mg of suboxone when I can get it & it helps but my back still hurts so bad. Would it be safe to take 1mg of suboxone very early in the am & a piece of a pain pill in the afternoon? I don't want to have this addiction but its clear that I have to do something to keep myself going for my kids. Just for the meantime until I can afford proper help I need something for w/d & pain.. thanks for any advice.

Thanks for sharing. I have a loved one in the spotlight at work for a long time. He has off the summer but has to be at the top of his game this year in September thru the future. On 2/2mg of sub and 2/20 mg of adderall he has 4 weeks to get over this it's been years too long. He quit with very quick taper for maybe a week and recently went back to old dose minus the Xanax for sleeping but now it's trazadone c'mon. Love him dearly but we have 4 kids and one income...and it never goes away. Attempted counseling until his way of slow weaning always wins but never seems to disappear. I don't believe therapy is for everyone a bunch of people in the boat he is trying to get out of I sympathize but can't be done alone.I know he needs someone who's been there to help him through because I'm out of patience and really I just don't understand why it's so hard for him, I've been through stuff I've kicked and he's kicked a bunch before this but only to be here. Tried inpatient and wouldn't take him doses and withdrawal weren't severe enough. I should have fought harder to keep him there by explaining the effect it has on him, the wide eyed Martian look the hours it takes to finish things or start them, the hyper focus drive he has over things that don't always matter the pale greyness and constant sweating the disconnection with everything, it's been this way for very long as much as I know today he is probably at his best since I've known him for 13 years but the deceit over the addiction and idk marriage and kids and life are tough enough. Sorry for all this I only have one friend I talk with about this and it is just consuming hiding it always. We've seen a counselor together we've spoke to our doc we fired the psychiatrist until he went back a month ago for an appt that wasn't cancelled which after a terrible 7 days of coming off cold he is now at that same dose again I found out today after always getting the no I'm clean line. .He knows he needs to be done says he wants it. Work is asking me what his treatment plan is and when this all came to light there I couldn't believe how hard it was to find places to help. I'm not sure what steps to take to get him through this so if there's anyway you could help us through, we would completely appreciate it. The docs want u to come down a dose a month and frAnkly he is out of lives and time at work and needs to be done by the end of August. I can't imagine what all this has done to his insides not just subs and adds and Xanax and ons and Benadryl but years of pain pills before. I just want to know him not on anything is it possible? Thx for your time

I had gastric bypass which seals of the duodenum (stomach). I was prescribed extended release medications. However, recently found out that my doctors ignorance regarding acids produced by duodenum necessary for XR medications to be effective. Six years of anti-depressants, PTSD, ADHD and anxiety couldn't work due to bypass-- Begin Adderrall 10 mg (IR (immediate release); pray that the acknowledgment that I require "IR" medications will improve the paralyzing condition I have-- found a doctor who understands. Gave me a week supply of suboxone, as well 8 mg (1X) with adder all 10 mg (2X) daily. Introducing anti-depressant symbiax next week. Pray it removes deep depression, anxiety that have had a dire impact on my person. Lost best friend to a money issue (business/personal). Attempted for amicable solution. Significant investment. I have to decide on legal remedy. Angry and hurt. Trying to strike a balance but my 'friend' continues to "push" me off. We'll meet soon ..."-- I cannot afford the temporizing but breaking my heart ...

I can't be more happy to hear that you completed a suboxone program without any problems! I wish I had the same luck. I started a suboxone program for the 1st time a little over 2 years ago after a raging addiction to opiates that I acquired after being prescribed Lortab for herniated discs. I started off taking my meds as prescribed, but as time went on they lost their affect & like many others, one thing led to another & before I knew it I was buying any opiate off the street that I could get my hands on- my life was a living hell.

The suboxone program I entered was an 8-month program that required weekly group therapy & monthly individual therapy in addition to suboxone. I was started off on 2, 8mg strips per day and I was so ready for it! I wanted my life back, and nothing or no one was going to stand in my way! Per the program, I was tapered off of suboxone by being cut back a quarter of a strip per month until I was completely off. I did everything EXACTLY how I was supposed to & had no problems tapering down. By the time I had gotten down to taking a quarter of a strip per day, I was ready to be off of everything & go back to living a normal & happy life. Unfortunately, it didn't happen that way...

Four days after stopping the suboxone, I went into terrible withdraw- worse than any I'd experienced with tab's, perc's or oxy's. You know, cold sweats, tremors, body aches, but this time I had a new withdraw symptom that I hadn't experienced before suboxone. I had the most awful feeling throughout my legs that radiated to my stomach. The best way to describe this feeling was like my skin was crawling- HORRIBLE! I called the clinic where I had my suboxone treatment & told them what was going on & in a nutshell, I was told that all of these physical withdraw symptons were in my head because the program is set up in such a way that withdraw is impossible. That is total bulls***. Since then, I've talked to MANY people that have experienced terrible withdraw after stopping suboxone & most would agree it is much worse than coming off of oxy's or the like. I refused to go back to pills, so I started buying subs off the street. After about 6 mos of going broke trying to combat withdraw, I asked if I could come back to the program to give it a second shot, only this time I didn't take more anymore than 1, 8mg strip per day to start. I thought that maybe taking less from the start would make coming off easier.....WRONG! I felt like I was on this neverending vicious cycle with no hope in sight.

After 8 months of buying subs off the street, I found a doctor that prescribed them and there was no time limit to be on them. This doctor believes, like many others, that once you start suboxone it's pretty much a life-long maintenance drug. It didn't take me 8 months to gain my out of control addiction and according to her, it won't take 8 months to gain control over my addiction. I am now prescribed 2, 8mg subutex per day. Subutex in suboxone in it's purest form and in my opinion, a hell of a lot better. It's also 1/3 of the price of the strips! I feel like my life is back together again. I look at my daily sub dose just like any other maintenance drug such as meds for something like high blood pressure or diabetes.

One last thing, I have also been diagnosed with sleep apnea and my CPAP alone doesn't help me stay awake during the day. I was still almost falling asleep behind the wheel and feeling tortured trying to stay awake. My sleep doctor prescribed Adderall to try and see if it helps to keep me awake. It definitely does. I take 30mg of Adderall within 3-4 hours of taking the subs and my doctor assured me that the two meds can absolutely be taken together, but is always best to put a few hours in between the two. I've been taking them for about a week and have experienced what seems like very mild withdraw when I take the Adderall after the subs. I'm a total newbie when it comes to taking Adderall, so I'm not sure if feeling like that is a side effect, or if it is in fact some withdraw. Anyone ever experienced anything like that when taking both Adderall & Subutex in the same day?

I'm from Livingston, Louisiana. And I just found a dr about an hour and a half away from me in New Orleans. And I only paid 200$ for my first visit and I got 90 subs. The dr literally asked me what I needed and how many would I be ok with. I told him I was taking 7-13 30mg roxicodone a day. That's almost 400$ a day addiction. So he. Wrote me a script of 90 subs. And my next visits will only cost 125$. That's cheap. The cheapest suboxone dr's around the Baton Rouge area are like $450-575 for first visit. So if you live in Louisiana around the Baton Rouge area then I'll give you the number to call and you don't need a appointment. You can just walk in. It's a walk in clinic. If anyone lives around Louisiana or in Louisiana I'll give you the number. It's a great place. In and out in 20 minutes. With a script of 90 subs.
