How To Snort The New Formula Opana Er (Page 20)

I became a pain patient after I fell off a horse in March of last year and sustained spinal injuries which are still VERY painful. Opana ER was the first thing doctors gave me that helped at all and now that they have changed the formula I'm in a lot more pain. I want to break down the formula so I can insufflate it, as I am told I may get more pain relief and increase bioavailability of the drug. The new formula hardly offers the same pain relief, Please help me!

Hello Bob, hows your weekend going my friend? Im sorry to hear the medicines arent working, but unfortunately, they are working just how I remember them working, in an hourly fashion until the next pill is taken for pain relief..Im sorry this is your case, it normally is for Chronic Pain like many suffer.

I do not compare my healing to theirs but give them a great outlook knowing their healing will be much better than just pills.. Im not sure if you have insurance, maybe even if you dont, it may be worth your life being sooo much better to just make payments you can if you can? I would love to get off of all these pain meds! With my pain level lower now, I plan on getting the doc to either lower my dose, or just change the strength, so I can take less over time. The side effects have become intolerable!

Brien...AWESOME news on wanting to lower your dose, and maybe get off them when you can, Im so happy for you...The side effects are intolerable arent they..When we are on them so long we tend to believe that some of those effects are from our pain, but its the body reacting to so much medicine, I noticed it as well when I was on the meds after so long, realized the damn pills were causing me MORE pain and discomfort than I needed..than anyone needs on top of chronic pain thats for sure...The nausea, constipation alone will make you sick sick, and from coming down from the initial high of the pills, high as in good pain relief for a quick time, is nasty, and I will never go back to it..dealing with what pain I have now which is minimal, I will take it with stride and rest when I can..;)

Remember me saying about being arrested for the RX issue, well Im not sure Brien if I told you but I found out it was just for ONE inncedent of a rx saying I was taking and I truly do not remember it. So listen to this, I went to my pain doctor today, he asked about what was going on, and remembered me telling him about it, and told me that he cannot say the other patients name, but he has 3 patients in my same office that have had the SAME THING HAPPEN TO THEM FROM THE SAME DOCTOR, and he is now being investigated by the DEA because of the other people fighting them as well for him just saying that certain patients were taking other medicines while in his care, to make himself look good, saying he dismissed us...Gave random names and my name came up cus I was a chronic patient taking narcotics as the other patients who were humilited like I was by being arrested...He told me to FIGHT THE CASE ALL THE WAY, that I should win it now cuz the DEA is aware of what he did..CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT BRIEN.? Dirty bastard, ruining 4 peoples lives that we know of to be an a** hole and make him look like hes doing a good job cuz he was listed as a new pain clinic...

I KNEW i didnt do that s***, but have problems remembering because of the head injury, i have some memory issues sometimes...So this girl is fighting it, and standing up for us that need pain meds and are looked down upon because we truly suffer chronic pain and need relief...the more I investigate on him now, the more I find out dirty crap about him..(smh).. Sooo, I will let you know my friend what happens, the next court case is in May, I asked for a continuence so I could get my information together, and I have a good start now...;))))

Again, I am very very proud of you, your an amazing man and many others who deal with chronic pain are as well...We can fight this together, and I am going to stand up for us, This girl is not going to be silent, no more about the crap we really have to go through..

Thank you Brien. I have been on oxycontin for over a decade when my insurance company decided to change my formulary and took Oxy off it. In order to get an exception my MD & I have to jump through hoops & try one of the meds off a list they sent me. Opana is one of them. I have been reading the blogs trying to separate the dope fiends from people living with pain as well as following the debate between brand vs generic. I'm not looking to get high otherwise I'd stay on the Morphine I'm on now (sick of spilling my coffee every time I nod off). I just want to live a quasi-pain free life. I think you did more to answer my questions than half the posts since 2012. Thank you again and good luck!

I am also Taking Opana 20mg twice a day for chronic back pain, and sciatic nerve damage. I also take Norco ( Vicodin) 10/325 three times a day along with a muscle relaxer called Norflex ER. The Opana works very well for my longterm pain and the Norco works great for my breakthrough pain.

Glad you got the info you were seeking! That's what I truly hope for when taking the time to post here... You have renewed my faith that people could actually benefit from this site! I think your attitude toward pain management is awesome! You said you wanted to live a quasi-pain free life , which shows how realistic you are toward pain management...good attitude! :-)

Hello Bob...There are no worries on here, or about any more issues on my side...It was about a prior pain clinic doctor that I had went to..His place was a new pain clinic you see, and down here in Florida, new clinics now are registered obviously with the DEA and have to comply with any questions they may wish to come in and do what they wish within I believe a couple years of opening. So my previous pain management doctor was signing his name on random patients saying he dismissed them because they were taking other drugs while in his care, so that he said he dismissed them because he was "dojng his job correctly"...and wasnt researched further..well he did this to 4 other people including myself and it was not true..all of us was arrested for "obtaining or attempting to obtain narcotics" while in the care of a pain clinic doctor, WHICH WAS NOT HAPPENING, and we were arrested...

So....I found this out by my NEW Doctor and he told me that I was not the only person this happened to, i told my doc about what happened and told him I DID NOT DO THIS...He said it never said anything about that in my transfered records either...anyways, the other patients took him to court as I am, have won, and now are suing this doctor for fraudulent documentation, and a lot of other s***, because really Bob, when I and them was arrested it is humiliating to myself and my family...Very costly for a bondsman, and a third degree felony possible on my and their record...Well, the DEA is aware of his behavior now, hes in deep s***, and I am gonna fight and win my case now too, You best my sweet ass Im gonna get him for that s***.. I cant believe I was cought up in this kind of triangle, I only hear this stuff on TV ya know...

Sooo, no worries Bob, there is nothing else investigated nor watched ok...And you are doing nothing wrong....your taking RX's from a prescribed doctor for chronic pain...ok..;)

I just wanted you to know this and any others, so really watch your records, and be safe...We cannot allow doctors saving their butts for their dirty work either, and ruining us patients who suffer chronic pain and need true help, and boi, I will be heard by the time this is over with...

It may not be what everyone wants to hear, but if you had been thru such misery - totally accidentally - you might feel urged to share your experience too. I also crushed Opanas until the formula was changed & it took over my life. If it hadnt been impossible to crush those little f***ers I dont know how i wouldve ever stopped, short of rehab. Kaiser doesnt even prescribe oxy's. If a couple posts on here make one person think twice before going down that dangerous road, its worth being disliked by the rest of you.

I take Opana ER and am not familiar.with the "old" formula that yall are talkin about? Anyways Opana was added onto my plan when Dilautid wasn't working for my pain by itself anymore. Im not reÃlly sure if Opana is doing anything for me but when I take more Dilautid then prescribed, it works! Only problem with that is my Dr. Won't give me early refills then I go through withdrawls when I run out.

Don't look for early refills especially if new to the program. Make it last and eventually ask for an increase maybe about in six months. Consider yourself luckey to be in pm. Opana will be and is becoming available inn the old formula so to speak. My last script was filled with generic opana. Oxymorphone is what I got which is the active ingredient. Build trust with your Dr. or your gonna blow it. If you are young your already under a microscope if asking early. Better to get extras on the street. Good luck

ya I understand what you're talking about. For a while I found nothing but people sharing on how to break down a pill to snort it, bang it and (I'm not kidding) how to shove it up one's ass. There had to be someone with some knowledge and experience. But I digress. I'm now on Opana 20 mg twice daily and I have found to be almost useless. They are brand name and "reformulated" which I don't give a damn about as I'm not looking to snort them. Is there really that big a difference between the generic and brand?

First I want to welcome Muckie to the board, hello and We are happy to have you visit us. You will find a great amount of good people on here that will help you, explain situations, and give caring advice..Bob, Brien, and many others including myself have went through what you have explained and are doing so much better now...It use to be a board explaining how to abuse narcotics and no help at all...Now some of us have gathered together to better ourselves, our lives, and help each other out through some tuff times Muckie..God knows there isnt any help out there that will not label us as abusers and truly listen to what we have gone and possibly going through..Here you will get that with nothing but honesty and NO judgement what so ever....We have helped one another become better at our goals and our lives...

Bob is right, asking for refills early just categorizes a patient as an abuser, not as someone who is inchronic pain and needs help dealing with the pain in the correct manner..Its so much easier for some people to say, "If they cannot take their RX as prescribed, then their abusing it intentionally" thats not always the case, and we one here understand that...In many cases it is because we just want the pain to go away, no matter if we think only at that moment, and realize were gonna be short or hurting more later because the pills are gone..

Work with us on here...Bob, Brien, and I am sure many others besides myself care, and we all truly want the same thing, a normal life without judgement....without the severe pain on a daily basis, and most importantly, someone who understands and is there for us to talk to...WELL YOUR IN THE CORRECT BOARD OUR FRIEND..;)))

Hello and welcome to the board...Your very right and many have put me down for my posts, but I don't take it personally, they may just be in that state still where they didn't want to hear good about not abusing the drugs. I was in a situation similar to those at one time and thought, "those have no idea what I am going through, and If I wish to numb myself, then so be it" but I know it isn't always the person talking, its the drugs and addiction..I know its so tuff to break away, try to find the strength to look ahead and stop..To find other alternatives, but I realized If I keep posting, and dont give up on them either like many have for all of us, then I may be able to help just even a few understand and know their not alone out there, and there are people who care, even if their not MD's, rehab clinics that just take them in daily and let them out after 60 or 90 days and get paid..

Im so very happy you came here, and I hope you keep posting with us..Explain yourself with honesty because non of us will judge you..We are now here to all talk about our thoughts and how we feel, with NO discrimination...If you do get it from anyone, PASS THAT BY, cause your strong enough to do it, I know this because you made your post...thats a big step forward...

Dear Vktoria, Maybe I am getting your story mixed up with someone elses. I thought you were arrested at home at dinner time for getting your script filled at a different pharmacy instead of the one you always used and the reason you did that was because they didn't have the medicine that your script was for. If it wasn't you, I do apologize. I remember the story because I couldn't understand why they would arrest anyone just because they went to a different store because their store didn't have what their script was for. Pain medicine has been scariest for months and months. Everyone has had a hard time finding their pain medicine. It is crazy that chronic pain patients have to go through so much to have the medicine that helps their pain to get through their daily life. I understand rules and laws but sometimes the wrong people have to pay for other peoples mistakes. Any way, this person, the police should have checked there story out and if it was true, the charges should be dropped as well as your should be.

Yes, I am that person Nicky. I posted that earlier because I thought that was the reason, I had no idea as to why I was arrested, I was only taking a guess as to what the reason was until I went to court and saw my public defender, and even when I saw my public defender, she only had ONE reason as to why they arrested me dear..The reason was from my PD was because they saw a RX filled at a time I was supposedly seeing my last pain doctor..I knew that I had not seen my past pain doctor when I went to my NEW clinic because I had never crossed doctors, but I have a memory problem sometimes from my head injury so I really didn't have the proof in front of me at that time, I couldn't HONESTLY say that I didn't see the doctor I had previously on the date they gave me, Im truly bad at dates and numbers with my memory, but I knew deep down that I wouldn't cross doctors, thats a HUGE chance and honestly I had no reason to do that...

Soo, when I went to my doctor I have now at a recent appointment, my doctor told me of the pain doctor I had before and that he is under investigation for signing off on patients saying they were taking other meds while in his care to make himself look good for the DEA, and I remember him saying to me two times that I had drugs in my system while in his care, and my husband was with me and I KNEW and told him, there was NO WAY THATS ACCURATE, I had never gotten any drugs in his care nor seen another doctor for RX's in his care.. Long story short, he had dismissed me for this reason and thats why I was in search of another pain management and I was not happy with his care and bed side manner anyways, but he was and is a lier...

Sooo, he is under investigation now for 4 arrests that have been made for the same issue as mine for falsifying medical information of patients, and the DEA knows this now..So yes, I am pissed about the whole issue and will fight for us as true pain patients...Be careful though if you do use other pharmacies because it is a red flag in their computers..I dont mean to scare anyone, but the DEA has devices in their (major pharmacies) systems to flag patients who are constant Narcotic users, uses different pharmacies, and they are checking date refills VERY CLOSELY now for all states...If its a week early, it is flagged, even if you dont fill it, the pharmacy puts in the computer as LAW that the RX is trying to be filled, then the DEA will begin following after a few times of this activity, I am just letting everyone know this, were not bad people but they are flagging us as is...BULLS***...

SO, my court date is in May, I will keep everyone updated, but please Narcotic users be careful on refills, their cracking down big time and you wont even know their following us, for no reason for most of us..;(
