How To Snort The New Formula Opana Er (Page 21)

Updated

I became a pain patient after I fell off a horse in March of last year and sustained spinal injuries which are still VERY painful. Opana ER was the first thing doctors gave me that helped at all and now that they have changed the formula I'm in a lot more pain. I want to break down the formula so I can insufflate it, as I am told I may get more pain relief and increase bioavailability of the drug. The new formula hardly offers the same pain relief, Please help me!

I found it. is this a different case or this is all the same case? Now I am confused. Sounds like everyone needs to be careful what they do no matter what. Be careful on what doctor you go too and stay at the same pharmacy and ask them to keep your medicine in stock so we don't have to go thru what Vktoria has. Life is hard enough just normal life then add being a CPP on top of it and have to worry about all the problems that go along with it.

Lemme tell you something, to all of you...I was arrested months and months ago with my family home, while I was cooking dinner, caught off guard and had to go to jail, and why?? Because I had had my RX filled at different pharmacy's and the only reason for this was because my original pharmacy did not have my RX in stock..Even though I used the same pharmacy name but at different locations, they saught me as drug seeker, TALK ABOUT HUMILIATING AND REDICULOUS..I never searched for different doctors, had only one doctor but because I had them filled at different locations because they were not in stock at one pkace and even though it was by the same doctor, I was labeled a SEEKER...Talk about a blow to anyones look on trying to be as pain free as we can?? they dont care out there and trust me, from what I learned in jail while I was waiting to be bonded out, They are WATCHING EVERYONE who has pain meds filled every month...

To John P:
No there is not a huge difference between the generic and brand as far as pain relief goes. I am sure now that they do work better, but only a bit! They are however, much cheaper!

HI BRIEN..

HI KENNETH...I would suggest if you have been on the Opana for a year now and it isnt working near as well for you anymore, bthen yes do tell your doctor AT YOUR NEXT VISIT, I saw this because as odd, and untruthful in many cases, It can be a flag to a doctor that you may be "seeking" or wanting stronger meds for a different reason...Im NOT implying this onto you what so ever, just telling you from someone who just seems to get these "Oras" from certain places in the past..

Anyways Kenneth, at your next appointment express to your doctor that you don't feel the medicine you are on is doing as well as it did in the beginning, as you say..Don't even say the word OPANA to him, just say medicine..another silly but true fact...trust me..

Ask him if there any other options that you can discuss with him to help control your pain better, maybe he can either give you something different, stronger, or even options that may even succeed your options that you may not have even known of? ;) Always talk with your doctor, thats what a good physician is there for Kenneth..Someone who really went through that hard schooling to help someone...Don't ever be nervous to talk to your doctor, if you ever feel that way, then maybe its time to start looking for another possible physician..Don't ever sell yourself short, you deserve just as much happiness and pain free life as anyone else does ok..;) We pay the doctors, so we should get just as much respect and care, as we give them us our hard earned money we earn to pay them..;)

Im glad you haven't gone down an abusive path, but if for some reason you have had thoughts of it, done it, or not, were happy to have you here..;) thanks for joining us..;)

TO NIKKI...AND EVERYONE ELSE...

I want to apologize for mixing you all up on my arrest i formation...In the beginning when I was arrested, I posted that I was arrested because of pharmacy hopping, that was the only thing I was running on, besides being told That this was probably it by my Bondsman. She had said then that their were just recent arrests made because of pharmacy hopping, so this is the only cause I could think of for my arrest.

I had went to court though in February and found out it was because I had " Obtained or attempted to obtain narcotic fraudulently" I was still confused because I had not done this..Well my recent doctor visit to my NOW PAIN DOCTOR just told me that my OLD pain doctor was being under investigation by the DEA for fraudulently signing medical papers saying that "some" patients including myself, had been taking other narcotics while in his care... THIS WAS NOT TRUE, but because he said that about me, and 4 other patients, we all were arrested..that is why I was arrested because a doctor said I was taking other meds while in his care...And they saw that ONE time last YEAR..I had overlapped a RX by ONE WEEK..so that was their probable cause...Now, needless to say, this RX that was overlapped, was MY NEUROLOGIST i have had for over 6 years for my pain mostly about my MIGRAINES, but other things in small...Had written me this RX until I had found me a new Pain doctor, now I was already dismissed from this "bad doctor" when I had the RX filled. granted it was a week early I THINK, i have to check that out, but I was trying to find a new doctor which is very hard, and NOT BE IN PAIN, NOR GO THROUGH WITHDRAWALS,..Anyone who has taken pain meds as long as I did, knew I would have gone through major pain and withdrawals...

So, long story shorter, I now have to prove this all to the court, just a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS, and i will fight it...

I am glad the DEA is out doing their jobs, for us people who really suffer for it, but I am also PISSED because they obviously didn't do to good of a job if they just allowed this arrest to JUST happen so easily, and many others...

So I apologize for the misunderstanding, but please do be careful, they are out for blood right now, but from the wrong people it seems???

BOB, thank you..;) I am originally from Mich-igan..;) but it feels so long ago since I have lived there, I love to be a Floridian, the cold weather just is horrible for me now..lol Love the tropical weather and ocean..;)

BRIEN.. the "new formulated Opana" I have to say, did not work for me either. I only stayed on it long enough to control the pain until the pump was put it..Im so glad a generic is out there for relief and cheaper..;)

I have to go to Ft. lauderdale today, everyone enjoy your day and weekend ahead of you...Keep up the awesome work everyone..;)

To Vktoria. Hello right back and I'm doing much much better thanks for asking. After 2 months of going through hellish bull* #*@ my insurance company finally granted me an exception and I am back on oxycontin. It's un-freaking-believable! I've been using them for years (along with Methadone) and they have done a good job of managing my pain when UHC decided to take oxy off their formulary. I was told it was because of their tendancy for abuse. I told the representative politely that what she just said was bull. Purdue reformulated the pills and made them... "unsnortable" so would please just be honest and it was about the companies bottom line ($$$). To make a long babble short, I had to try not 1 but 2 new pain meds before UHC would grant the exception. I tried morphine sulphate 60mg and opana 20mg. One had me nodding off and the other hardly touched my pain. When it was reported by my MD that both had failed to help me, they finally granted me the exception... for a freaking year! So I guess I have this to look forward to again in 2014. Joy. How are you doing? Gotta go catch the bus. Hope all is well.
Peace
John P

To John...;)

Im very happy to hear you will finally be in less pain my friend. I hear that medicine is pretty strong, be careful it may upset your stomach and digestive system for awhile or while your on the medicine. Iv never went that strength in pain meds, was scared to take that route in all honesty, Iv heard some bad stories of Oxy's..Be careful my friend, you sound good now, I just dont want "IT" to take control of the mind as well as the body...I know you are happy, as I am for you..Im very happy to hear you dont snort it too, if you ever have and you dont have to say, resist them temptation for a bad road to overcome. I am not lecturing, just care about many of you on here as we have talked regularly now, shared thoughts, and become global friends...

If anyone feels the need to say thoughts to control their pain in any other way than it should be, just jot down what your feeling or thinking ok..were all here to help, and have taken paths of all choices..so were here...;) No Judgement..

John, Im so happy your feeling better and doing good...I wish YOU and EVERYONE to have a great weekend and HAPPY HOLIDAY..;)

Why thank you Brein! I AM feeling better. It helps to have the best Dr. in CT. The man has bent over backwards for me and with his schedule that's not an easy task. Enough about me. How are you doing? I probably won't get back to my PC for a day or 2. In the mean time enjoy the holiday and stay well.
Peace.

I hate to bring it up, but May is coming and the FDA may stop the generic Opana Oxymorphone. Everyone needs to let them know how the generic works better than the new Opana. Read below.

Among the unsolved issues cited by FDA are specific testing standards for crush-resistance, which the agency said it was still developing.

The insistence on developing standards may, itself, be an indication that the agency is planning to implement such requirements.

FDA also said there was "no evidence that in enacting section 505(q) of the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, Congress intended to short-circuit the application review process or to vitiate an ANDA applicant's procedural rights by requiring that the Agency make decision on scientific issues specific to pending applications."

"For the reasons described in this response, the petition is denied," FDA concluded.

Endo's December 2012 lawsuit saw a response from FDA indicating that it will issue a determination on the larger issues related to crush-resistance and whether generics may enter the market without them by May 2013.

In a letter sent to US legislators in early January 2013, Margaret Hamburg indicated that the agency is leaning toward requiring generic opioids to possess crush-resistant and other abuse-deterrent qualities, writing that FDA "shares those concerns" held by legislators that generic versions of the drug would be dangerous without resistance qualities.

WHY Endo wants generic Opana to go away.

Competitive Advantage

U.S. law is intended to foster competition in the drug industry. Whenever a patent on a drug expires, the Hatch-Waxman Act is supposed to make it relatively fast and easy for competitors to put generic versions on the market.

Such competition is good for consumers, health care providers, the government and everyone else who pays for prescription medicines because it slashes the price of drugs. “The first generic version of a drug causes the price to drop dramatically. The second generic onto the market drops the price to peanuts,†says Prof. Marsha Cohen of University of California Hastings Law School.

These price drops can grievously injure the profits of innovative drug companies, so these businesses have a powerful incentive to delay generic competition to their popular products for as long as possible. “Given the amount of money involved—sometimes billions per year, often hundreds of millions per year—any additional exclusivity period is worthwhile. Even an additional six months of exclusivity can bring nine figures in additional revenue,†says Anthony Fitzpatrick, a partner at Duane Morris.

I have been out of e fray for awhile, had a serious setback that I'm still struggling with - just wanted to check in and say hello to everyone. Still hanging in, may be out of remission, playing he waiting game but I'm guessing by the size of my lymph nodes, it's not gonna be good news.

You really answered your own question. Endo was or still is trying to defend themselves against several lawsuits. They can't have a monopoly simple as that.

There is more to it then what you think. There are groups trying to stop strong pain meds be given to people with chronic pain. They want it only given to people with cancer plus these groups and the FDA don't care what works the best for our pain they are more concerned about the druggies getting a hold of pain meds that can be abused. There is something wrong with the plastic meds. They do not control pain as well as the originals. I think the plastic pills don't break up in our system like it should and they don't know the crap they are made of could cause cancer. There are so many rules in place for chronic pain patients to receive pain meds now. The law just needs to make sure they are followed instead of trying to make people suffer with chronic pain. I have pulled up report after report what groups and FDA, police, etc. say. It is getting out of hand. We are going to lose and suffer for it. Its just like the New York mayor tried to make a law go through that large sodas couldn't be sold in New York. The courts stopped it for now. That just a couple of things going on. I know sodas aren't good for you but I don't drink them but I'm glad I have that choice. I want the choice to be able to take something for my chronic pain that works for me and I can afford and live my life the best I can and not have to lay in bed all day and miss out on my family because of my awful pain.

Kratom is a medicinal herb, the leaf of the kratom tree. It has been used traditionally for pain relief and to fight fatigue in its native Southeast Asia for thousands of years. Opium addiction has been a concern in this area and kratom has been known for centuries to ease the effects of withdrawal from opiates. The active alkaloids in kratom interact with the same opioid receptors as codeine but to a lesser degree, and kratom is not addicting.
Contrary to reports in the media, kratom is not a new ‘legal high.’ The kratom tree is in the same family as coffee and has about as much potential for abuse. Kratom is legal to use in the US and has become a popular herbal remedy for chronic pain and as an energy boost. Users report that small amounts of kratom (5-6 grams) provide a lift similar to coffee while larger doses (8-10 grams) are relaxing.
