I have a bladder infection and want to know what the best antibiotic to use would be that doesn't have lots of side effects? ## Every medication carries the risk of side effects and there is really no way to say that what worked well for someone else, without causing many, will work the same for you. I was on narcotics for 1 year due to a disk problem. I stopped for 5 weeks and after 2nd week I felt severe pain on my hip and lower sides, so back I went to my Dr. She assumed I had a urine infection and prescribed me an antibiotic. The first week of treatment didn't work so I went to the hospital for blood work, U/A's and a CAT scan that came back with a bladder infection. I have a burning urine and it's brownish and has a very bad and strong smell. I also have discharge and it's sometimes sticky and white then sometimes it's browinish.I went to a clinic about 5 times and they gave me an antibiotics but it only dissapeared for a little while then it comes back I even took my partner to the clinic but it doesn't stop. This medication was given to me because I continued getting urine infections after intercourse and nothing else was working for me. I'm on amlodipine and linsinopril. I have m.s I get constant urine infections. The only thing that works it grapefruit seed oil. I am shocked to read you shouldn't take it with amlodipine.
