Does anybody know whether it is advisable or not to drink a caffeinated beverage after taking an Advil? I know that some other drugs such as Excedrin Migraine already contain caffeine in order to supplement the Acetaminophen and treat the headache more effectively. Does the same concept apply to Ibuprofen? ## I don't think that it will harm you if you drink caffeine after taking Advil, but I can't say whether or not it will have synergistic effects with the Ibuprofen the way that it could with Aspirin on Acetaminophen for instance.

I've had a migraine for almost 2 days. Past issues with these headaches are typically only resolved by taking ibuprofen. Problem is I am taking xarelto and I was told to only take Tylenol if I need pain relief. I have been taking Tylenol and it is not helping one bit. I thought my doctor said "occasionally" no more than 600mg of Advil would be okay, but I can't seem to reach anyone on the weekend. Please help! ## Hi Kyle, According to The University of Maryland Medical Center drug interaction tool, there is a high interaction potential between Advil and Xarelto. They go on to note that using an anticoagulant with a NSAID is generally not recommended, but because it may be needed in certain cases, you and your doctor should work together to find an appropriate dosing regi...

I get severe headaches/ migraines that last for days with NO relief unless I took the blue pills fiorecet with butalbital caffeine AND codiene. After years of taking it and never getting addicted. I never even asked for an increase in strength or frequency! My stupid Dr. decides to stop it and give me massive doses of ibuprophen (advil) saying it would work the same, I reminded him that I had started seeing HIM because nothing otc worked! He said I was having rebound headaches from them. Well, I found out that for me, it was the butalbital that caused the rebound headaches not the codiene which was the only part of that pill combo besides the caffeine that helped. I now have a prescription for straight codiene (codeine sulfate) and it WORKS! I take 1 I don't get drowsy and it takes ...

white caplet IP 137 other side 800 ## Hey, this one is easy for me, I just took some, have a whole big bottle in my bedroom for my migraines. This is prescription strength Ibuprofen, 800mgs. Scroll down through the images on this page and you will see your pill: Pill Image So this is the same stuff that is in Advil, but it is like taking 4 of them at once, instead of one or two, because the OTC is usually 200mgs. ## By the way, if you aren't used to taking straight Ibuprofen, I don't recommend taking this, it can be very rough on your stomach and kidneys, this dosage should only be used by someone who needs that high of a dose, because they have a tolerance built up to it. I have been using it as needed for several years, and sometimes it still makes me nauseous if I take it on ...

over the last 12days i have had bad headakes that i cant manage with just over the counter med "advil-tylanol". so i have been going back to the hospital for help. nothing gets rid of it. so they have been giving me morphine. on sunday they gave me some to take home in pill form. its little seafoam green and has the letters "pms" on it. truth be told its not helping me at all. is this pill realy morphine? if so why wont it work? ## No, this tablet does not contain Morphine, nor any type of narcotic. This tablet contains 40mgs of Propanolol, the active ingredient in Inderal, it is a beta blocker, it is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions, but it has been shown to help with migraines for some people, where other medications fail. It may c...

My endodontist prescribed this for pain after doing a root canal. Will this be of help under these circumstances? ## Hello, Ronnie! How are you? This medication is most commonly used to treat migraines and tension headaches. The Acetaminophen in it may help with some pain relief from the root canal, but I doubt it will do much. Have you tried it, yet? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, nervousness, insomnia, sedation and stomach irritation. ## Hi! I ended up not using the medication. I had very little discomfort after the root canal and just took a couple of Advil. All the possible side affects kinda worried me also. Thanks for answering. Take care! ## Very welcome! I'm glad you're doing well! ## My pharmacist says this will not bothe...

ok the pill is white in collar, and .25 dia by .5 or a little longer and has a half way divider mark in the middle of it and on the other side it has L 384 . ## Are you sure the marking is L 384? I haven't seen one with this marking, yet. However, what I can tell you is that it's an over the counter item. They are usually sold as the generics or store brands of various products, such as Tylenol or Advil. Does anyone else recognize this one? ## i know I have some. It is a generic migrane pill. I cannot remember if it was tylonal or advil version but I am thinking the ibuporphin migraine because that is usuyally what I get.

Hello, Just started on imitrex nasal spray 2 days ago, had to use 2nd dose at exactly the 2 hour mark the first night ('alarm clock headache' at 5am). Used it tonight and an hour later vomited, felt a little better, but still have lingering headache. Is this all normal? As it is the weekend, cannot verify with my PMD, and just want to make sure I am taking it properly - should I be lying down, head upright? Any better way of administration? And is it ok that I am taking advil/excedrin migraine along with it when I feel it is not working? ## Hello, Kimg! How are you? Unless you've been specifically instructed otherwise, such sprays should always be used while sitting or standing upright. The nausea, vomiting and mild headache can all be side effects of Imitrex, along with diz...

I'm on Contrave almost 3 mos and lost 29 lbs...that's the great part, but lately I am getting the worst headaches, usually over one eye . Lately I've been getting 3 headaches a week and all I could do is lay in bed. Sometimes ice on my head feels better or even the pressure from the pillow being on my head to block out the light helps. I went to my prescribing doctor and she said headaches are a side effect. Other than a headaches my only other side effect is dry mouth. My doctor said the headache should go away as this does happen to a few patients on this meds. Advil migraine doesn't seem to help so I really don't know what else I could take with contrave. If I wasn't on contrave this kind of headache would definitely be gone with a Vicodin! But I know I cannot...

I'm just wondering about how many tablets of Advil I should take for a migraine. I don't like other medications with caffeine and I find that Advil works well for me. Can I take up to 4 of them safely?

i tested positive for dilauded in a drug screen i take oxycodone 15 mg and duragesic 75 mcg/h and folic acid and methatrexaTE and albuteraul inhailer and over the counter drugs is bear advanced asprine 500 mg advil migraine and excedrine migrane meds how could i test positive for dilaudid in the test i took ## It might be to the Oxycodone, or the Fentanyl in the Duragesic. If the test used was one of the less expensive, non-certified ones, then it is well known that the narcotics someone currently takes may cause false positives for their various relatives. Learn more drug test details here. Did they send it off to a lab for more precise testing? ## Can any other opiate cause a false positive for dilaudid? ## Can hydrocodone or Percocet show positive for hydromorphone?

I had a hair follicle test done and it came back positive for amphetamines, and methamphetamine. I was wanting to know if any of the medicines I have been taken can cause a false positive. I have taken adderall, Advil, ibuprofen 800 mg, excedrin migraine, Zantac, night quil, Tylenol, aspirin, Xanax, midol, robaxin, and Abilify. Any information you can give me will be helpful. Thank you for your time. ## It doesnot mean u did anything or took anything. The test is false if u know u did not use. Mygrandson tested pos in two hair tests for morphine and morphine and oxycontin. That was impossiblr. I had samples retested both were CLEAN Cps dismisssed the case but damage was done You know you trusr ur self fight for what u know to be true. ## Adderall is an amphetamine, it will show up as su...
