I have had Herpes Simplex which should effect my mouth. My Igm titer which should be less than 20 is 785. I get Herpes everywhere and on both sides of my body. Immunologist looked at my outbreak and after bloodwork for EVERYTHING she said I had Herpes in my DNA. First outbreak, 1975 as appendix burst. Since then, I'm 65 now, I get outbreaks every other month and before it comes the lymp nodes in the area it will be in swell, giving me a sign . I cannot have any prednisone or cortisone as she said it would really blow up my already painful shingles. And once you have a few outbreaks the vaccine is not recommended. And yep, I have tried all the Acycolvir etc both to prevent & to treat and they have no effect on me. I wonder if my Mom's drinking while PG w/me caused this.I had a huge bout of chicken pox at 5 yrs old. But my kids never had chicken pox.

No, your mom's drinking would not have caused it. If you have a simplex, that is solely due to a herpes virus and is not even related to your having chicken pox. The virus that causes the outbreak of herpes simplex is usually contracted by some sort of prolonged contact, such as kissing, or intercourse if it is located in the genital area, which you can read in NIH studies. However, there are other medications that can trigger it. Is there anything that you take regularly?

Yes, I take 5 mg Lisinopril for high BP, Methadone 5 mgs for pain 3 x a day and Xanax 2mgs 3X a day, but I take it differently. I break 1 in half and take AM and Noon. I save 2 Xanax at night bc I have Interstitial Cystitis...very painful. And bc I need neck surgery but too scared, I take Tizanidine 6mg 4X a day for muscle spasms. Oh and a couple Benadryl PRN for allergies...CA fires are brutal. I do not understand why my Titer is so high but my inflammation #'s (Sed rate and CRP) are 3X normal as well. My doc of 20 yrs says that's just the IC. What do U think?

Howdy, wise one. I have an Immunologist and she says this is just like shingles as it breaks out everywhere AND both sides She witnesses it down both sides of my thighs.. So she said it might as well be Zoster bc it has mortified and is now part of your DNA. Tkx for getting my Mom off the hook.
