HERPES ZOSTER VACCINE ## I have had Herpes Simplex which should effect my mouth. My Igm titer which should be less than 20 is 785. I get Herpes everywhere and on both sides of my body. Immunologist looked at my outbreak and after bloodwork for EVERYTHING she said I had Herpes in my DNA. First outbreak, 1975 as appendix burst. Since then, I'm 65 now, I get outbreaks every other month and before it comes the lymp nodes in the area it will be in swell, giving me a sign . I cannot have any prednisone or cortisone as she said it would really blow up my already painful shingles. And once you have a few outbreaks the vaccine is not recommended. The pill shows J on on side and 50 on the other. The color is a light blue and they may be old. Thank you for helping me identify this medication. ## This tablet is manufactured by Camber Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 800mgs of Acyclovir, which is an antiviral that is used treat, or prevent herpes outbreaks, including cold sores. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

taking two pills 5 times a day

I was diagnosed with shingles and was prescribed with ACYCLOVIR 400 MG TABLETS and it says to take 2 tablets by mouth five times per day for 7 days.. But I don't understand? How many hours apart do I wait for each set of two tablets? ## I was just given the same med, but mine is 1 tab 5x day. My doctor said I didn't have to wake up at night for a dose, so I set this up: 6am,10am, 2pm, 6pm and the last one for the day @ 10pm. Hope this helps. ## My prescription for CARB/LEVO 25 - 100 mg reads: Take 1 and 1/2 tablets by mouth 5 times a day. The first pill would be at 8:00 AM. When would the times be for pills 2, 3, 4 and 5 - if bedtime is involved, which would be at 22:30 / 10:30 PM? Thank you for your assistance.

Valacyclovir with Ibuprofen

I've been searching everywhere for an answer to this, but does anybody know if it is okay to take Advil with Valacyclovir? My wife's gotten a headache (a reported side effect) and is really wanting to take a pain medication. I have read that individuals should check with their doctor before taking Valacyclovir if they are taking NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen, but I can't seem to find a definite answer if one Advil will be harmful. ## Ibuprofen is not specifically listed as a drug which interacts with Valacyclovir (meaning it is not implicitly described as dangerous to take together with it, whereas other drugs have been mentioned).
