Sasha I am reading your earlier reply on the patient who overdosed by accident two times and it is not difficult depending on tolerance. I'm sure you recall the issue in "Russia" some years ago when close to a million were killed by a terrorist type event. As you already know since you've read my posts Duragesic due to my P450 category is used also that Fentanyl cannot be in pill form due to the micromolecule it is so minute. The party who poisoned and killed all of the people did so with Fentanyl in the water supply.

So here we have an entire population of people with one water supply and yes this is communist Russia which likely was safer then it is today; basically a third world country gone wild with criminal elements running things due to freedom. Freedom too is an addiction when you have not been born into it.

Again back to the deaths of the innocent. All it took was drinking the water to suddenly suffer the worst adverse effect of this opioid which is respiratory depression. Fentanyl MORE then all opioids has this feature and OFTEN a pain patient does not pick up on it early on. I've been on this type of medication since 2000 without interruption so know how easy it is to die from this medication but those not tolerant (Russia) died many instantly without warning some if lucky just went to sleep; others may have had extreme anxiety (another side effect of Fentanyl). The predators must have used extreme amounts for to depend on a river or one water supply non contained
to massacre so many was a horrific feat.

In America NOW we are feeling the full effects of Odumma's efforts at the end of his elected time. I believe he should have been removed long ago but I believe his minority status which really is no longer minority if you think about it have allowed him actions NO OTHER AMERICAN president would even think to enact.

Your physician say your GP of years suddenly is being offered incentives (big big checks HUGE amounts of money) NOT to treat you for chronic illness say diabetes. Well he or she gathers that incentive and suddenly they are cutting back on patients for instance and you are seeking another physician you are without insulin, without help. In America you would find another physician 9 or 10 years ago no sweat. They'd stabilize you and treat all of your chronicity. Not now. I am in the middle of writing legal briefs and fighting a system now that is going to categorize pain patients as addicts. Here is another incentive. You are disabled with intractable pain. Some misfit who just started at SSA sees your records and determines under Odumma's new rulings (not to disable those ETOH or addicts in treatment centers who are usually dual diagnosed anyhow with other issues) under SSI or SSDI.

That allows a huge can of worms for you see no one at SSA like the DEA is licensed. Not one physician or nurse and that is your answer your saving grace without us there is no help for the general population. Socialized medicine is the worst in the world. Doctors cannot come to Western Medicine and become a physician they have to redo medical school. America once was the greatest medical continent; we do more care and cures then any country for we are for profit. The investment one makes to become a professional nurse or physician creates the intellect, critical thinking and analysis needed to cure even the most resistant ails.

Not now. We are being killed off. If you are 30 or older and have any chronic illness your time is marked. Obamacare was never created to do anything more then EMPOWER GOVERNMENT in a military approved takeover no less then Hitler's Germany mass killing of innocent Jews and other who were thought to be Jews.

This i**** should be shoved off his own cliff and whatever profit motive leader we can get with the best business sense needs to get in there, and restore America to freedom, and most of all freedom to choose.

If you are seen in a detox physician or are on detox drugs you will NOT ever if you have intractable pain be ever to get help with a pain specialist; they are taking personal and confidential information and making it public to multiple agencies. Meanwhile physicians are getting paid incentives NOT to treat us (yes I am over 30) and by not treating your basis disorders he does not need a firing squad and mass graves or killing we just die.

ER visit for no touch no physician average is $10,000. "We do not treat chronic illnesses on episodic basis see your primary care physician" and he or she has just taken a huge check FOR NOT TREATING you.

How did she overdose two times without intention. I feel for her too but it was with intention. I find in the first year of RSD the suicide rate is higher because your mind and body still remembers normal; after that time if you make it the body forgets.

JAH, EVERYONE on narcotics has to sign a pain contract now. We have been signing them for quite a few years in Minnesota. There is nothing fishy about it, it's just the way it has to be now. Also, by signing it, you are giving the doctor permission to make you take UA's at random. Now, most docs usually don't do that to people who have been their patient for years and they have no reason to distrust them but they might one time just to have it on record that they are doing what they can to weed out addicts from true chronic pain patients. Even my 70 year old mother had to sign a contract but she has never been given a drug panel. It's really not a big deal and definitely not worth wasting money for a lawyer. This is just one more aspect on the narcotic tightening!

That suggests his Controlled Substance Registration has been restricted and the right to order Schedule II and Sceduke III drugs suspended or even permanently revoked,

Pain management contracts are typical they used to be all the rage when they'll mills were being crack down upon it may simply be that your doctor is under new management or they may have gotten a call from DEA or other regulatory agencies that they are over prescribing or something else going on if you're legit why freak out about a contract -- it may have absolutely nothing to do with you and everything to do with the doctor one of the doctors in the practice etc. a friend told me recently around April DEA does their most strict paperwork checks on physicians offices at least in Florida which may or may not be true but if you want to stay a patient and you want to stop the madness with pill mills then sign the contract and abide by it good luck

When will the chronic pain community, which I am part of, finally realize we have to take responsibility for policing ourselves or face the consequence of no one helping us happen? I am sorry but you can't really blame a pain management doctor being afraid to see you after you accidentally overdosed twice and wound up in the ER. It is very frustrating to read things like that. It is one of the reasons chronic pain patients are required to jump through hoops just to get medication needed to try to live life somewhat normally.

I constantly have my condition on my mind and medications for chronic pain are very serious and should be treated that way. It is not like you just take one extra pill and BAM your od'd to the point of having to be hospitalized unless the pills you are taking are entirely to strong for you to be taking anyway. The reason there are child proof bottles is because people who cannot understand or comprehend the seriousness of these medications should not have access to them. 19,000 people died last year alone. When people sell their medication or do not take it seriously it hurts people who do.

After being in the hospital for more than a year and having several surgeries I thought being able to walk again would be the toughest thing I'd ever deal with in life. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Constantly having to deal with medications, jumping through the hoops and hours of waiting at doctors offices, having doctors treat me like a drug addict just so I can get a prescription and worrying weather or not I'll be able to pick up my 1 year old child because NO DOCTOR WANTS TO EVEN BE IN PAIN MANAGEMENT anymore to even prescribe the medication is. But I don't blame the doctors. How can we blame them? They are a product of a system that has eroded through years and years of abuse. They go to school for 8 years and leave with hundreds of thousands of dollars in student debt then face loosing their license daily because they are not mind readers at the fair and they are constantly lied to by drug dealers or junkies posing as patients.

Almost every thread on here has people saying "You can't see pain." "How dare you judge me." "They just up and cut me off because XXXXX" If you almost kill yourself not once but twice, where is your responsibility in the matter? If the doctor gave it to you again and you OD'D again and God forbid the ER couldn't save you he would wind up on the front page of the local paper in a mug shot and every single person in the community would be talking about how he deserved to go to jail and what a POS he was. Why as true chronic pain sufferers do we not see that this cavalier attitude towards our medication is destroying the medical community's ability to treat the responsible chronic pain patients that don't lie or abuse the medication they are providing with the dignity we believe and we do deserve?

I know at least half of the patients in the Pain Clinic I go to are either faking injury to get narcotics to sell, or making their injuries out to be worse than they truly are to get more medication to get buzzes or to sell as well. How do I know this. Because I either know the patients, they openly discuss these practices, or I see them around town after being pushed into the office in a wheel chair walking through a store laughing while I'm struggling to push myself through my 60 hour a week job and praying I will have enough energy left to eat dinner with my wife and son when I get home. Until we change the community none of this will get better.

Tired of hurting. I understand your frustrations but if you know people are selling their medications or not taking them as they should then mention it to your doctor so they can bring them in for a pill count or u/a. Also did you ever think that person in the store laughing is having a good day. On a good day I can go canoeing but that does not mean I do not have chronic pain or do not need opiate medications. We complain about being judged but sometimes we are the worst and doing it ourselves. If someone tells you they are not using their meds right or selling them you have a responsibility to tell their doctor. That helps him continue to prescribe to you and may just get someone in the position to get the help they need.

Deborah, I see someone told you about pain management. That is an option.....there may also be more they can do for you besides just prescribing narcotics however, being able to use a narcotic for pain is a great choice to have....especially when just starting out on other therapies. Now, they also mentioned a pain (narcotic) contract that you must sign with them. Make sure you read, carefully, every single word of that contract and ask them to give you a copy. It does not matter anymore who treats you with narcotics, pain management, PCP, whatever, you now have to sign a narcotic contract. It saves their butts as well as yours. It contains a lot of info like they not replacing a script that has been lost or stolen, there may be random UA's, and most importantly, you are not allowed to receive pain meds from any other person but the PM doctor. It doesn't matter what the reason is except if you were hospitalized or in the ER and they gave you an IV pain med....just be sure to let your dr know. Some people will also tell you that, by law, you are only allowed to use one pharmacy. THAT is not true. You do have to provide a pharmacy name on the contract but if a circumstance arose to where you couldn't use your main pharmacy, you can use a different one. It is just better if you stick with one pharmacy. I have had to use more than one for various reasons and my dr was fine with it as long as I told him next time I saw him. I normally use a small, family owned pharmacy....well, it's impossible to use them when I'm traveling! But, I would limit pharmacy use to just 2 places if need be, your main one and a chain pharm you could use in the case of travel or something like that.

Lady,
He dropped you? Why not change you to a pain patch with an extended release narcotic. I mean, one could still OD but you'd have to go completely rogue, chew on the patch or place the months supply on all at once to accomplish an OD. I'm assuming the morphine you were on was XR right? You said you OD'd twice by accident. I'm taking you at your word that you didn't purposely swallow enough morphine XR & Oxy IR to OD. Having said that, I AM so curious & it could be helpful to others reading this how much medication put you over that edge and into overdose territory. By accident.
And now you need a new Pain manager. You didn't say what causes your chronic pain tho you did mention "spinal issues too". Do you need to see a rheumatologist? Are you suffering from Arthritis? Please, let us know a bit more about your DX and location.

Hi Bad Knees! I hope you're hanging in there. Firstly, I'm VERY sorry about the pain you're obviously in! My gosh, 2 broken legs & bad back. Terrible. Ima be straight up honest with you, B. First tho, a couple questions; was the 2nd doc you saw a specialist of some sort? Did you make the appt for yourself or did another doc refer you? You asked the new dr for "something" for your knees. Was the appt made specifically for treatment of your pain? How did your appt with the female end? Did she have you make an appointment for a recheck? If you went in to the appointment for the sole purpose of walking out with a script for narcotics and that's all y'all talked about, there's a decent chance she will contact your doctor. Same time, she might not! Please write back to let us know how you're doing and give more info about your motives for seeing the female.

Dear Tired, We are all tired. I didn't look at the dates but if I remember right, the person with the accidental overdose twice blah blah is from last year, is a rare thing &....respectfully...old news. You're very fortunate, blessed & lucky to have a pain management Dr. The junkies you speak of will always be around. If they don't get their drug of choice from the Dr they'll find it somewhere else. Imho it's not the junkies caused this disaster of health care. It's the CDC & dea. They need to keep their cushy jobs & have a god complex.

Look under Pain Management in your area. You can also ask your current dr for a referral. Pain Management Drs have pain contracts and routine drug panels. You will also need your medical records along with the diagnostic results for the cause of your pain. The dr will be the ones to decide what pain meds he gives you. Don't ask for anything by name. They usually want you doing other things to manage your pain, besides meds. Things like physical therapy, counseling, IV's, etc.

Hello, Deborah! How are you?

Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require a narcotic on a long-term ongoing basis for the management of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist.

Since this change has happened, most of them have been flooded with new patients and aren't accepting more, so the quickest way to get in somewhere will most likely be to ask your doctor to refer you to someone.

What is your general location? It is hard for anyone else to make any recommendations without knowing your nearest large city.

Bad knees, that means that the new dr that you went to see looked you up in your states Prescription Monitoring Program and saw that your family dr is prescribing you pain meds. The new dr may or may not have called and informed your family dr that you were doctor shopping. Doctor shopping is when you see more than one dr for the sole purpose or getting narcotics. It is illegal in some states. If the new dr informed your family dr, it is possible that your family dr will not write you any more pain meds. And since any new dr that you might see would get a copy of your medical records from your current dr, if they accepted you as a patient, it is possible that you might not be able to find any dr that will prescribe you pain meds.

Most doctors now a days are doing this.. you must go to a chronic pain care clinic to get the meds that relieve pain. Obama took care of all that. Sorry :(

You can usually find out how long records are kept by going to you state prescription monitoring programs website for your state. Each state is a little different in what medications they report. For example some states it is just opiates medications other states it's all schedule 2 class drugs and in some states it all prescription drugs. Also more states are sharing there list and I expect I the next 10 years the state prescription monitoring program will be come national. The information I was talking about was for MN and if I recommend correctly FL. Also some states allow you to get your records from the your state prescription monitoring program by filling out a form and paying a small fee. Again in Mn I have gotten my own records. I hope that answers your questions. To find your state prescription monitoring program for the state you live in you should be able to get it by just Googling it.
