Ranitidine recalls

I just wanted to know if there were any recalls for ranitidine 150 mg (IP 253) for 2017? ## There was a recall for the syrup manufactured by Actavis, but that is all I have found for this year, so far, according to the FDA recall list. Have you experienced some problem with this medication? The FDA warns that this medication may carry the risk of causing side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, and flatulence. ## Has Kroger recalled its Kroger Heartburn Relief 150 mg Ranitidine with a National Drug Code of 30142 600 01? ## Has Avkare NCD (ndc 42291-724-60) Ranitidine 150mg tablets marked IP 150 been recalled? I get mine from the VA and they say it's ok, but then I hear on the news that all Ranitidine has been recalled. What's going on? Should I continues with my pi...

Here's something interesting for all Zantac users

(Reuters) - CVS Health Corp said on Saturday it will discontinue sales on the popular Zantac heartburn treatment and its own generic ranitidine products from its pharmacies after traces of a known carcinogen were found in some of the products by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The FDA said earlier this month that some of the pills contained small amounts N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), which has also been found in some widely used blood pressure medicines, leading to shortages of those drugs. CVS said the move to suspend sales of the over-the-counter heartburn drug was taken out of caution while the FDA continues to review if low levels of NDMA in ranitidine - the active ingredient in Zantac - poses a health risk to patients. "Zantac brand products and CVS brand ranitidine pro...

False Positive For Alcohol

I'm taking zantac, protonix and a weight loss drug called clk. ## Hi alexis, I was unable to locate any specific details on zantac or protonix being known for causing a false positive on alcohol. However, what I did find was that Zantac (ranitidine) may test positive for methamphetamines & that Pantoprazole (Protonix) may test false positive for THC. I'm not sure of the abbreviation used for the weight loss drug you also mentioned in your description; so if you could clarify that, it'll be good opportunity to find another match for this false positive. Thanks! ## I have an ankle monitor for alcohol and I've tested positive and have not drank? Can you tell me of any other cause? ## I'm taking prescribed 10mg oxycodone. I just had ankle surgery. They covered my leg...

pantoprazole 40mg pain on right side and back also

I have been taking pantoprazole 40mg for almost 3 months now and while it helped my abdominal pain after 1 month of use the symptoms are now returning in a milder form. I experience sharp pain in my upper left side ( stomach area), gas and hunger pains that are normally relieved by eating. Lately, the discomfort can be felt on the right side slightly also and in my left side and back. What is going on? Shouldn't the medication help this? ## Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach, so it can help treat or prevent conditions such as ulcers, GERD, heartburn and gastritis. But it can cause stomach pain and bloating as side effects, so that may be what's causing your problem. Alternatively, you may have something else going on a...

Alternatives to Carafate

I have ulcers that are not healing and my MD prescribed Carafate but I broke out with severe hives. Is there any alternative? ## Hello eleni, There are alternatives out there but it is unwise for me, or anyone on the internet, to recommend you take any type of medication especially when you had an allergic reaction to a previous brand of this type. I recommend contacting your doctor to see if they can determine what you were allergic to and see if they need to bloodwork to determine what the best route to take is next. I wish you the best of luck.

Tagamet is a Protagonist for Methadone and Xanax, How about Ativan?

- Tagamet is a protagonist for some narcotics (like Methadone) and some benzodiazepenes (like Xanax)... Meaning if you take say 800mg of Tagamet 3 hours Before taking your regular Methadone dose, it will make the effects of the Methadone last longer and stronger (< not always stronger if longer acting, but by experience it does with Methadone) But I 'think' I read that Ativan is not one of the Benzos that Tagamet (generic Cimitedine - sp?) will elongate the effects of. I'm worried since - big surprise! - I have urine drug tests every week or 2 at the Methadone clinic where they Watch it leave and enter the cup. My probation officer 10 years ago wasn't that close to me for testing! Anyways Ativan leaves the body in 7-22 hours max. I know this to be true since I've...

pan 40 in pregnancy

Can I take pan 40 or pan d during pregnancy? Please advice me. ## There are no studies showing the Pantoprazole is known to be dangerous, during pregnancy, but the NIH does advise that it only be taken by a pregnant woman if no other options work, or if other options are not available. The same applies to the Domperidone in Pan D, it should only be taken if your doctor feels that the benefits to you will outweigh any possible risk. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, stomach pain, flatulence, and diarrhea. Are you on any other medications?
