Kremers Urban Omeprazole 40 mg Gluten Free

I am looking for information about Kremers Urban Brand generic omeprazole 40 MG - whether it's gluten free or not? Currently using omeprazole 40 MG that is compounded at a local pharmacy, but am looking to see if there is another option. It's beginning to be costly. Previously called the Kremers Urban Brand about 2 years ago and they wound not and could not confirm whether it was safe to use or not. Looking to see if anything's changed. Thanks. ## Hi Christina, According to, each delayed-release capsule (from Kremers Urban Pharmaceuticals Inc.) contains either 10 mg (NDC 62175-114), 20 mg (NDC 62175-118), or 40 mg (NDC 62175-136) of Omeprazole in the form of capsules with one or more of the following inactive ingredients: - Crospovidone - Gelatin - Glyceryl Dibehenat...

Ferrous Oxide Yellow

I took omaprazole last night and got very sick then my tongue and pallet swelled with my tongue burning and the roof of my mouth burning. I am allergic to FD&C yellow 5 and 6. Is this the name for yellow 10 and why do they put this into medicine when so many asthmatics have this allergy? The FDA should ban all colors in pills to help with this and make drug companies stamp the name of the drug on the pill or some other type of identification. ## No, FD&C Yellow 5 and 6, are Yellow 5, and Yellow 6, Yellow 10 is a different one, that's why they are numbered like that, to tell them apart. Many companies have been removing the colors, due to the fact that some people are sensitive, or allergic to them. The FDA didn't ban them, because overall, they are generally considered s...

Mylan 6150 vs Delayed Release Variety

I had been taking the tan and beige prescription formula 20mg delayed release version of Omeprazole to treat my acid reflux for several months with no adverse effects. When I refilled the prescription this time, the pharmacy gave me the Mylan 6150, and after 3 days on it I developed a scary heart arrhythmia, so I stopped it immediately. The pharmacist argues that it is exactly the same medication; they just changed generic providers. Is this true? ## Hello, Lynn! How are you? Mylan Pharmaceuticals does list it as containing 20mgs of Omeprazole, but this is a regular release formulation, not a time released one, which might explain why you suddenly experienced side effects from taking it. The FDA does list bradycardia, tachycardia, palpitations, and hypertension as all being possible sid...

Are Omeprazole & Allopurinol anti-inflammatory drugs?

I am about to have a colonoscopy and my doctor advised me not to take any anti-inflammatory drugs. ## I had a colonoscopy done and sow the swilling in the picture taken. I was told that my problem is chronic. The doctor prescribed CANASA 1000 MG. This medication is so expansive that it cost me over $500 for 30 day supply, that is thru insurance. Per my search online, this medication dose not cure ulcerative proctitis but it may decrease the number of stools, the amount of mucus/blood in the stools, and the rectal bleeding caused by irritation/swelling of the colon/rectum. Mesalamine is an aminosalicylate anti-inflammatory drug. It is believed to work by blocking the production of certain natural chemicals that may cause pain and swelling. How can my condition be treated effectively, rat...

omeprazole g232 40 mg pill identity

I have a pink/blue capsule with G232 G on it. I think it is Prilosec, not sure. Everything I have found gives a different color. ## Glenmark Generics lists this capsule as being orange and purple, they say it contains 40mgs of Omeprazole in a time released formulation. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, flatulence, and stomach pain. Colors can be subjective, though. Have you tried having someone else give their opinion? ## I have pink/light blue and peach-pink/purple capsules, and both say G232 G. Any idea what they are and what they're used for?

Losec (Omeprazole) Side Effects

Within 15 minutes of taking Losec (Omeprazole) 20mg, I am giddy and dizzy. Is it because I have been taking it for a long time? I use something else should I get heartburn, which is most unusual now as I changed to a vegetarian diet with very little protein. ## I wish to know if Omerprazole 20 mg can cause dizziness, as well as taking Tramahexal be the cause of palpitations. Something is making me dizzy and making my earfs ring, as well I now hve great difficulty in writing. ## Yes, Omeprazole can cause dizziness as a side effect, along with nausea, headache, mouth watering, and stomach pain. The Tramahexal can also cause dizziness, since it contains the active ingredient Tramadol, which is an opioid used or pain. after stopping meds omeprazole 20mg twice a day which i took for 45 days, i suffered from acid rebound, severe burning sensation in stomach i never felt before after i was told by a gastroent to stop taking meds. he put me on mucosta 3x a day for 7 days and asked me to come back if symptoms still there. is mucosta safe to take 2wks and wont cause any complications? ## Why were you taking the Omeprazole? If it was to treat a specific condition, such as an ulcer or GERD, then 45 days is a really short time to be on it, most of these medications are used for at least 3 to 4 months. Did he say why he wanted you to stop taking it? Acid rebound is always possible, when you stop using these types of medications abruptly. The Rebamipide is an amino acid derivative, that is used to mucosal prote...

Problem with Kremers Urban KU 136

I have taken Omeprazole for years from various manufacturers and never had a problem. My pharmacy just switched to Kremers Urban KU 136 this week, and they don't do anything. When I am not on medication for GERD, I wake up every night gagging on vomit. In the past when I am taking Omeprazole daily, I wake up maybe one night a month usually because I ate something too close to bed time. I use a pillow wedge to sleep upright and am fine. When I took the Kremers Urban KU 136, I was up every night gagging on vomit and the pillow wedge didn't help. I bought Nexium over the counter and am now back to not having any issues. I told my pharmacy, but they didn't seem to care. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this with Kremers Urban KU 136? ## I called my pharmacy with the same...
