I have been taking Lo Loestrin Fe for 4 months now and i have only had 1 peroid and that was in the first month. I have continued having weird reactions so i have chosen to stop the pill. I stopped it on a blue pill 3 days before i switched to the white. It has been 5 days now and still no period. When should I expect to get it? Pregnancy test was neg a week ago. This drug just really seems to have me messed up. Anyone have any helpfull info? Thanx!

I took lo loestrin fe for like 4 weeks in April but didn't like it. it's mid June and still no period. I'm very worried and I'm about to go take a preg test. I'm really hoping it's just the hormones messing me up.

I have been taking lo loestrin for almost a year now. I have had MAYBE two actual periods the whole time. Sometimes I would even get so concerned that I wasn't having a period that I would wait a whole week before starting my new pack...& even this didn't help. The first time I had my period while on it was 3 days after starting Cipro an antibiotic for a UTI I had. Since taking antibiotics makes your birth control ineffective, I figured this was probably why I started. But honestly I haven't had a true period at all other than that, & the short period of "breakthrough bleeding" that happens about 2 weeks after starting it. I've heard of some people having really long heavy periods while on this,& others like me who have no period at all. So It really depends on your body but it may take a month or so for your body to begin a cycle without the use of the birth control hormones.

Figured I'd write something since I was reading this forum freaking out like the rest of you a couple weeks ago.

I was on lo loestrin fe for about 7 months. I had absolutely no problems and loved it! I only experienced VERY slight spotting (if you can even call it that since it was so light) on the brown pills each month until they completely disappeared during my 5th month on the pill. About 1 week into my 5th pack I had really heavy breakthrough bleeding. I was SUPER worried because it was during the blue pills and I had never had breakthrough bleeding whatsoever since starting the pill.

The following 2 months I continued taking the pill normally but never had any bleeding/spotting since that breakthrough bleeding instance. I was anxiety ridden and basically came to the paranoid conclusion I was pregnant. I took 4 tests all spaced out over the next couple weeks and all negative. I got so paranoid I finally stopped taking the pill at the end of my 7th pack so I would get my period and quit freaking out.

I stopped the pill and still NO PERIOD for about 25 days. I was going crazy! I read all about cervical mucus and trying to predict if I ovulated, if I was EVER going to get my period... or if I had to face my fears and realize I was truly pregnant. I became a true crazy woman! Then my period finally came on day 25 and it also came along with the WORST cramps I have ever had. I remembered why I went on the pill in the first place! If you are worried you are pregnant, take a test! If the test is negative, don't freak out like me and stop the pill. Chances are, you are not pregnant and you can avoid the cramps that come with getting your period again!

I was on lolo fe for less then a month and it was a complete nightmare. Within the first few days I became an emotional train wreck. I also experienced extreme fatigue, beast tenderness and dizziness. Eventually the breast tendernes went away but then I noticed I started losing ridiculous amounts of hair. To the point of having bald patches on my scalp. I was determined to try and stick it out but by the third week I was getting terribly dizzy accompanied by horrible headaches. When I started cramping and spotting I just couldn't take it anymore and decided to stop taking the pill all together. With about 5 blue pills left. I read such mix reviews about this pill some sounded awesome but this birth control pill is definitel not for me! This experience has been a nightmare!!!!!

Hey, my periods are coming about every 3 weeks, heavy 2 days, then tapering off. I feel much more in control emotionally. I am actually using vegan estrogen and progesterone Creams and think they level me off. I was concerned about using just estrogen as can cause estrogen syndrome. I ended up having a tubal ligation as my husband was unable to have vasectomy. Had it last week and am fine, no pain.

I was on for three months. after the first month I experienced extreme weight gain, bloating, and vaginal stinging as if I can a cut in my vaginal and any discharge passing stung. I got off after 3 months because I was convinced the stinging was due to the birth control. Been off for two months and still have no period. Stinging has stopped however I do have lower abdominal cramping. I'm praying it isn't a cyst or anything else serious.

I will be stopping this pill this month due to my age (48) and high blood pressure. How are your periods now? My doctor also suggested progesterone. Did you have any side effects with that?

I had been on Lo Loestrin Fe for years, and had many symptoms I could not pinpoint. Weight gain, depression to the point of being medicated, no period, high blood pressure to point of medication, lack of libido, thinning vaginal walls resulting in painful intercourse. I was taken off a few weeks ago, due to BP, and noticed less of an appetite, increase in libido, feeling "like myself" again, lessening of pain during intercourse. Get off this BC if you can. Not worth the physical side effects. My new GYN offered to place a Mirena, but after much discussion, my hubby is getting a vasectomy. I am 42, have been on BC pills since 17, and I feel good about coming off. I'm also using an estrogen cream, planning to add progesterone. Again, I feel a lot better.

Hello. I've been on this pill for 3 years. I have never been on my period at the exact time every month. I bleed in between periods too and as the time has progressed my periods have become shorter and lighter. My last period was in January 5 and I still haven't gotten my period for February 2014. I was scared out of my mind becoming pregnant again so I took several diagnostics and even went to get a UA done at my gyno office and it was negative. I figured it would've been positive if I was already pregnant because it's going on 2 months late. So I have an appt on March 12, 2014 to find out what is happening. I didn't take my pill yesterday and I'm cramping bad but no period yet.

Hey, all. I was recently looking for answers to the same questions posed here. Today I finally got in to see my gynecologist, and she put me on a different pill immediately. I, too, was experiencing all the symptoms: fatigue, bloating, weight gain, breakouts, irritability, loss of libido, no periods or weird bleeding, discharge, you name it. She said the extremely low amount of hormones can really mess a girl up if she's sensitive (which I'd expect the opposite, right?). Anyway, you should all expect to see your bodies go back to normal soon.

In the mean time, ask a doctor! They know best and can help you get back on track.

Hello ladies I would like to know if any of you experienced what I am going through since I stopped this awful pill. I was taking it for only one month when on my third week I started getting heavy abnormal bleeding. My doctor had me stop the pill immediately. Within just one day I started getting the worse leg cramp and two days later I was taken to the ER for all of the following symptoms.Very high heart rate, dizzy, sweaty palms, shaking from being so cold, muscle aches, entire right side of body numbing and the worse stomach indigestion and pain. I have done a full blood panel and have checked for blood cloths but nothing is showing up. I pray this is just a withdraw from this pill. I have been off of it for seven days now but I still feel sick and not back to normal.

Hi I would like to know if you felt any of these symptoms as well dear. I was on this awful pill for three weeks. I stopped on the Sunday of my third week because I started getting abnormal bleeding. My doctor told me to stomach immediately. Ever since I stopped I was admitted into the ER once for very high heart rate, dizzy, sweaty palms, shaking from being so cold, muscle aches, entire right side of body numbing and the worse stomach indigestion and pain. I have done a full blood panel and have checked for blood cloths. I pray this is just a withdraw from this disgusting pill.
