Oxycodone Shortage Scam (Page 6) (Top voted first)

Guys, i hate to tell you this but its all bulls***>>> after 3 weeks trying to fill my Oxy 30, 140, i finally got to speak to my Pharm Manager who Ive used for 12 years. He told me straight up, that all the calls and people have hurt their regular business, so they decided to stop ordering Oxy in any amout to avoid the crap I was floored as all of a sudden he filled my script on the spot not 30 secs before they were all telling me they didnt have any. He told me last that would be the last one filled as hes not ordering anymore. I discussed with him about just oredering for me, as I'm legit and trying to follow the rules by using only one doctor and one pharmacy. He said he"ll consider it just for me. What a bunch S***!!! This from a guy Ive known for 12 years. It is a Walgreens, This is a conspiricy to avoid all of the drug seekers at our expense. They should go back to getting it off the street and leave us alone. How many more of us have to suffer? Im dag gone tired of being looked at as a druggy as I limp up to the counter. I spent 30 years as a cop on the job in New York, shot in the leg and arm for the citizens I swore to protect and now to be treated like the guys I put in the slammer? Im sure there are plenty of us on the blog. What the hell? Anybody know a good attorney? I guess I should start taking Morphine or Herion and sleep all day since I cant get the medication that works and this is America? Sound off you guys its the only way were going to be heard. God Bless you.

Today was a very painful day. I was trying to fill my short acting pain med. unfortunately, I live in the suburban north NJ area. The seven pharmacies I visited all denied me my mess. This is a valid ex from a licensed physician etc. This is all a huge conspiracy due to, the good faith dispensing policies that Wallgreens has instituted. The 30mg oxy ir is no longer available to me. I also followed the rules, use ins. Never utilize another pharmacy, and try to make 60 pills last me nearly a month. A month ago the pharmacy manager said this is the last time we will fill this prescription. She had the audacity to question me and imply that I may be diverting this pill. I'm now cut off from every Wallgreens pharmacy in the U.S. And now Europe. Boots alliance was bough by this monopoly drug chain. i digress, the saddest day was when I was talking to a very handsome 23 yr old man, he told me his life story. 16 yr old he tries oc pill stolen from family members. Then, by his 17th bday he had a heavy opiate habit. I believe this all culminates from his inability to obtain proper pain management when his femur was shattered in an auto accident. Purdue Pharmaceutical should be on the same list as any active terrorist organization. I also believe corporate profits drove great people, healers, chemists, and pharmacists to turn a blind eye for a free lunch/bonus. On this Memorial Day I will remember all the men who fought for this country and thank all who serve today. Again, I have no recourse, I have pins, screws, and six big titanium screws in l4/5 to S1.

If anyone reads this message please don't share, leave out for teenagers to "experiment" with opiates., they all try it and some just cannot stop. Fifteen-twenty five years in age is the most pivotal time for adolescents to become adults, I'm witnessing a generation wasted on opiates; this is not pretty as I begin going into withdrawal. This is May 2015, and my hopes and dreams have eroded since my accident. Note to all: just be careful so you won't need pain pills. Finally, call Senator booker 973-645-3030. Tell him to watch the corporations, pentagon, the local pharmacy chains. These are the nest battle we all must join. Call 973-575-1299 ask them to help not hurt.

I hope you never have to deal with chronic pain, because someone like you will call you a drug seeking addict. Unfortunately, I've been in nearly constant pain for over 30 years. I follow the rules, use one doctor, one pharmacy, get monthly drug panels (if I fail even one, no more doc for me!) despite my 15 year record there. I bring in all narcotic meds with me each month, so the office can independently verify that I have not taken more than prescribed. Sadly, with all of these precautions, I still run into pharmacy issues. For example, meds that I have filled every single month for 15 years suddenly aren't available. Occasionally, my insurance decides to cut pharmacy limits, a problem that can take weeks to resolve. A few months ago, they decided to add a pre-authorization to a medication I've been taking for years, that took 10 days to straighten out. Yesterday, they decided to limit that anti-nausea medication that I take 3 times per day. Now, it's 2 a day. Believe me, between doctors, hospitals, insurance and pharmacists I jump through plenty of hoops. I truly don't need approval from the general public, or people like you. The world at large would never guess I take pain medications on a regular basis. It doesn't alter my behavior or ability to live. You know what does? Never-ending pain, and it's side effects like depression, inability to rim coherent thoughts, constant nausea and vomiting, and the need to live in bed, in the dark until the level 10 pain slips back to an 8.

My husband is in chronic pain. He went to one CVS for 8 years. Then a new person told him he didn't feel comfortable filling it. He said he had to call doctor. He called, I heard the pharmacist arguing with the doctor! The doctor won. My husband got his prescription. After that we found a small independent pharmacy. We haven't had any problems. Also try going to a pharmacy near a hospital. It is awful that pain patients are treated this way

This is 4 years later since u posted! & I'm running into the same problem! I have MS, n suffer from horrible chronic pain. And I've had MS FOR OVER 20 years, so my tolerance has gotten very high- I've always gone to the same doc & pharm. But all of a sudden the pharmacy has been having 'trouble' getting my Roxi 30's- and congress n Obama himself is on some campaign to curb the use of Opiates to treat pain?? Why, there r those of us that can not function and have a normal life without them??

You have no clue. People build a tolerance over time to any medication. I agree that is a lot of pills a month but have seen bigger scripts wrote. Don't judge what you are clueless to.

You are addicted. There are dozens of other pain meds besides oxy. Try ms contin..you'll say it sucks because you can't feel high.

Stfu. What do you know what people need and don't need?

I'm very sorry about what you're going through.

Have you tried seeing if there is a pharmacy in your area that specializes in pain management medications, or a hospital associated pharmacy?

They often have better security and a larger stock of such medications, so it can make it easier to get your prescriptions filled by them.

THAT'S WHAT THIS HAS COME DOWN TO - IT USED TO BE THAT ONLY A FEW PEOPLE HAD SCRIPTS - BUT NOW DOCTORS ARE SO CORRUPT THAT THEY GIVE A SCRIPT TO ANY KID WITH A FEW HUNDRED BUCKS A MONTH - SO SINCE THERE ARE MORE SCRIPTS YES THERE ARE LESS PILLS BUT BELIEVE ME THERE IS NO SHORTAGE - BUT I WILL TELL YOU THIS BECAUSE I DO WORK IN A PHARMACY - THOSE 30MG'S THAT YOU CAN PAY UP TO 30 BUCKS A POP FOR IN THE STREET ONLY COST THE PHARMACY ABOUT 5-15 CENTS PER PILL - SO EVEN IF THEY CHARGE YOU 2 BUCKS A POP TO FILL IT WITH CASH, THEY ARE STILL MAKING RIDICULOUS PROFIT - YOU HAVE TO ALL REMEMBER THAT PHARMACIES ARE A BUSINESS - THEY WERE EVEN BEFORE THE PAIN MED EPIDEMIC - THEY GOTTA MAKE MONEY - THIS IS JUST A OPPORTUNITY FOR THEM TO MAKE BIGGER BUCKS - BECAUSE THEY GOTTA PLACE ALL THESE ORDERS AND THEY WANNA GET THE STUFF OFF THEIR SHELVES - ANYBODY NOTICE THAT WHEN THEY GET THEIR SCRIPT THESE DAYS THEY USUALLY GET THE A 215'S? - THATS BECAUSE THOSE ARE THE CHEAPEST FOR THE PHARMACY TO ORDER - THE BRAND IS ACTIVIS AND 100 PILLS COME IN A BOTTLE - THE BOTTLE IS ABOUT 10-20 BUCKS FOR THE PHARMACY TO ORDER IN BULK - THE ORIGINAL ROXICODONES WHICH SAY 54 199 ON THEM ARE OVER 100 BUCKS PER BOTTLE - WHICH LEAVES WAY LESS ROOM FOR PROFIT FOR THE PHARMACY - EVEN MALLINKRODTS ARE MORE EXPENSIVE - WHICH IS MOSTLY WHY ALL PHARMACIES THESE DAYS ARE CARRYING THE A215'S (JUST IN CASE ANYBODY WAS CURIOUS)

Mister, I am with you. I’ve been on meds since 2000 and recently oxy 15mg 6x-day for 2-3 yrs with no problems. Life was good. Then I began to experience the problem of getting it filled. One time it was 7 days and I took my meds ON-TIME so I was out... Eventually, the PAIN CENTER OF ARIZONA decided, out of the blue, to put me on Hydrocodone 10mg 4X-day. Not only a significant reduction, but now I have to put up with sleepless nights and ringing in my ears from the tylenol (which I initially got away from years before). So I returned to PCOA with my meds 4 days later and complained. SOOO they put me on morphine which I didn't want but had no choice. Frustrated, I wanted to see what my un-medicated pain level was like and finally get off the meds as everyone suggested for years. After taking morphine (15mg X4 day) for 30 days I stopped on Dec 30th 2013 and went through Morphine withdraw. Cold turkey was pure hell. My pain was STILL THERE! I was unproductive for 2 months. Now I’m going to the VA for help but I gotta climb the pain-pill ladder! They gave me three meds, two of which are 30 day supply and only a 10 day supply of Hydrocodone (Vicodin 5/325? 4-day – but 40 each) so I am really struggling with the "Quality of Life" issue, again; I stretched them out an extra 3 days. No matter, they were not very effective and the withdraw effect wasn’t as bad. Once again, I’m living a counterproductive quality of life. As for the people who say, “You don't need it. Suck it up!” I am STILL in pain trying exactly that; to "live with the pain". They really don’t know 'cause they haven't any of the same issues. So I say to them, “Stop taking your liver meds, stop talking the Warfarin for your blood, and your heart meds, stop with your insulin. You don't need it! Get off of that junk you panzys! Awww, you don’t need THAT much of a dose.” What would you do if all of the pharmacies ran out or stopped stocking it? Man, what a picture that brings to mind! Take away that which works and people will seek other solutions. When they can’t get the help legally they could consider other means depending on their quality of life.

Purdue pharma is mainly to blame here. They are the sole manufacturer of oxycontin. They are making money faster than it can be printed. They love the fact that theirs is the drug of choice for both junkies and real pain patients. As long as they can peddle their pills it does not matter to them who dies or who is denied access to them. They get theirs, screw everyone else. Pharm companies make all their money in the USA, drugs are 95% cheaper in other countries because our senators and congressmen have big financial stakes in these companies. Ending the insider trading in Congress and the revolving door between govt service emloyees and the Industries they regulate would help a lot of this. Why should a drug cost one price in america and another in Mexico or Canada? There should be no difference. But then, why does the one percent rule over the 99 percent? We have the numbers, so why don't we organize and put them in their place? We, the 99%, should and can just march in and take them out of the loop. Take their money, their 15 homes and everything else they don't need. Let them live like we do. Put their money to work for us in the form of Medicaid for every single US Citizen. Spend some of that money on being able to identifying non citizens and illegals and export them somewhere else far away. When the 99% decides to stop being ruled by the 1% and the corrupt government that protects and enables them, only then will this country be what is was meant to be, equality for each citizen, not the inequality we are mired in now. Rise up Nd take it back from them! Take it to the streets, like wall street and Madison avenue where they cook up the schemes to keep you all blind, entertained, greedy and ignorant. Wake up and take it all back because it's yours anyways! Revolution is what is needed here, folks, nothing less will do. Why do we need a govt that sends billions to other countries, sends our resources and jobs overseas and denies it's own citizens basic needs? Wake up! Take Action!
