Lunesta put me in the ER

I'm 36 year old female. I've always had insomnia since childhood. This summer it got to the point I was getting zero sleep. My doctor prescribed 3mg Lunesta every night. She said many of her patients tolerated it very well, so I should have no problem. Within the first five days, I lost my coordination and walked into furniture, making a giant bruise on my leg. I thought it was just a random accident. Then a few days later I got a staph infection in my inner thigh -- first time in my whole life. Dr put me on Keflex. Over the next week, my memory and concentration weakened. I felt like I was lost in fog. Then I got indigestion. I thought it was from the Keflex. The Keflex ended, infection gone (not without leaving a scar), and still the weird symptoms continued to escalate. My en...

jevity and kidney stones

My nephew has a brain injury and doesn't communicate at all. He has a feeding tube and uses Jevity for nutrition. He continues having trouble with kidney stones. He can't tell us but we know he is suffering. When is passes them you see them in his urine bag. Is there anyone that knows if it causes kidney stones? ## Hello, Laurie! How is your nephew doing? It depends on what type they are. If they are calcium based, then yes, the Jevity might be contributing to them. However, they could also be unrelated and caused by something else. Is he on any medications regularly? Have the stones ever been analyzed by a lab to see what type they are? Has he been dehydrated, at all? ## He does not take any medication. Every now and then he gets a Lunesta to help calm him down when he seems ag...

Teva brand vs Myland

I was taking Lunesta but had to stop because of the price. I then began taking Teva brand and now I learn they are having production problems and might not be available for 2 - 3 months. Has anyone heard of or tried Mylan? And comments? ## Hello, Bob! How are you? Have you tried it, yet? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including next day hangover-like symptoms, headache, unusual taste in your mouth and cold-like symptoms. Can anyone that's taken the one manufactured by Mylan chime in with their experiences, please? ## I have also taken Teva for yes. They gave me the Mylan last time and I can't sleep without taking a Benedryl with it. Mylan does not work for me. I have called Walgreens, CVS, Economy Compounding and now Walmart. No luck. ## Go to a smaller pharm...

Lunesta for 10 years

I've been on lunesta for 10 years straight. I have to take at least half of a 3 mg pill every night or no sleep. If there are any side effects, I am not aware of them. Anyone else been on the pill that long? ## Hello, Mark! How are you? I am glad this medication is working so well for you, without causing side effects. Some of its typical ones, according to the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, next day hangover-like effects, and funny taste in mouth. Can anyone that's been on it long term chime in with their experiences? ## Yes, please do. Any feedback is welcome. ## Mark, Hi, I can speak to more than a handful of clients currently being treated at our facility that developed a tolerance to this benzo like substance which lunesta is categorized as. Although not a tra...

It is used for the short term treatment of insomnia. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, sleep actions, odd taste in mouth, and hallucinations. Liza, it would be best to consult his doctor to discover the root of the problem. How old is he? Is he on any medications? Does he have any diagnosed medical disorders?

is it safe to take 2mg lunesta after taking 37mg of oxicodon throughout day

Is it safe to take 2mg lunesta after taking 37mgs of oxicodon throughout the day?sc ## Is it safe to take lunesta 3mg. four hours after taking one dose of fioricet or must I wait longer ## Ask you doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ## Taking them together could result in your experiencing more severe side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and sedation. Thus you should only do so, if they have both been prescribed for you, according to FDA information. It is best to be cautious, in such cases, since too much sedation could be dangerous, or fatal. Are these the only medications you currently take?

Morning Hangover

After trying Sonata for chronic insomnia, my doctor put me on Lunesta. At first, I took 1 mg which just made me sleepier and grumpier. So she moved me up to 3 mg. This works well but I wake up so sleepy that by mid afternoon I have to take a nap. By evening I feel great, am wide awake, and full of energy. I am a night owl so I stay up until 11:30 or midnight. I have taken the pill earlier but I stay up for awhile. Should I try to go to bed when I take the pill or wait until later to take it around the time I go to bed? I need hangover help. ## Next day hangover-like effects are a normal side effect of this medication, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, and odd taste. And yes, it should be taken within half an hour of when you are going to bed. Ho...

Lunesta Coupon

I recently made the effort to discuss my problems with insomnia again, after many years, with my doctor. Without insurance, I floundered for years while exploring my options. I had initially found a manufacturer's coupon online some years ago that did away with the copay that my at-the-time insurance coverage would leave me to pay, which was $10. The coupon did away with this fee, allowing me to receive my medication for free, at $0. I was originally prescribed this medication in 2011/2012, with wonderful results that allowed for a much appreciated uplift in my mood and energy. Upon being once again prescribed this medication, this time lacking any insurance, even - I attempted to navigate towards in hopes that I could receive the same deal, or at least one similar - and...

Eating after taking lunesta

I took 6 mg lunesta on an empty stomach. When can I eat again? How many hours after taking lunesta can I eat without it interrupting the effects of the medication? ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? There shouldn't be any issue with eating and taking this medication. The FDA warns that it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, hallucinations, and sleep actions. However, you should be going to bed, shortly after taking it, and not taking it early enough to require a meal. Are you on any other medications?

Lunestra for sleep!

I recently went to my Dr... Not sleeping at all some nights, up and down continuously. The Doc prescribed 3 mg of Lunestra couldn't believe how good it is, has a nasty taste if ya keep in your mouth very long but going to sleep in 20 minutes waking 7 hrs later is one f the best feelings I've ever had...wake up no druggy feeling whatsoever, just need a cup of coffee! Anyway got news my insurance won't pay for it so the Doc prescribed Trazadone! Any thoughts? Thanks much! ## Trazodone is an antidepressant that is commonly used to help with insomnia, since it can cause drowsiness as a side effect, according to FDA reports, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. Have you tried it, yet? Some people have good results with it, and some do...

Longterm Lunesta Use/Cold Turkey Delayed Withdrawal Symptoms

I took 3mg Lunesta for 2-3 years. Had taken Ambien a few years before switching. Due to a refill delay I ran out of Lunesta. It took ten days to fix the refill problem during which time I was forced into quitting cold turkey. For the first week, I had no problem sleeping and had no withdrawal symptoms. Suddenly on about the eighth day I had what seemed like the worst nightmare of my life and other withdrawal symptoms started. Since I had no problem for the first week, I had no idea what the withdrawal symptoms could be, and only looked them up after I started having nightmares, unwarranted anxiety, headaches, extreme exhaustion, irritability, eye twitches, nausea, etc. BUT, at least I was dreaming again, which it seemed I hadn't done since I started taking it. I figured I should be thr

Loss of libido on Lunesta

I'm a 40 year old male and have been taking Lunesta for about 2 years now. Over that time I have have slowly lost my libido until now when I don't have any. Anyone else experience this? All of my parts work, but the interest is just gone. ## Yes, this has been reported in various clinical studies according to NIH reports. It has also been known to cause next day hangover-like effects, funny taste in mouth, and hallucinations. Have you consulted your doctor? There is also a chance that it could be caused by some other issue. Are you on any other medications?

Insomnia. Trying lunesta

I was on ambien but it stopped working for me. Dr gave me lunesta. First night I took it I slept some. No sleep second night and tonight I'm still awake. I took the lunesta and a melatonin at 8pm. I'm afraid I'm in for another sleepless night. ## Sadly, not every medication works for everyone that tries it. It can also depend on what you eat, your sugar and caffeine intake. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, funny taste in mouth, and next-day hangover like effects. Do you practice good sleep hygiene? Such as not having alcohol caffeine, or sugary foods within 3 hours of bed time? Keeping a consistent bed time and wake time? Are you on any other medications? How long have you been dealing with insomnia?

Bad Taste Side Effect

I was prescribed a 3mg Lunesta and it worked very well for its purpose. One of the listed side effects is a bad taste, and yes I did experience that. What I am wondering is if anybody knows how long that's supposed to last - I had a glass of water when I woke up the next morning and the taste was awful! Should it go away soon? ## i had the same result- i couldn't drink anything due to the foul taste in my mouth-i gave up after one tab!! snf no one seems to be able to give me answers. help!! ## I h ad a bad taste in my mouth too but,it wore off by mid morning.I kept taking Lunesta though because it worked so well. ## The bad taste is usually caused by the dry mouth that many meds cause as a side effect, dry mouth tends to make your taste buds hyper sensitive. ## I have been takin...

Lunesta 2mg is no help - Can I double it?

I was prescribed 2mg Lunesta because I am having trouble going to sleep while taking 10mg Ambien. 2mg Lunesta is not helping either. Can I take 2, 4mg total? ## You should not take more than your doctor has prescribed. If your current dose isn't working for you, you should inform them of the problem. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and funny taste in mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

little round dark blue tab L36

I found it mixed in with my lunesta, it came from walgreens. It is a very small round dark blue tablet with L36 on 1 side, nothing on the other side. ## Yes, this tablet is manufactured by Macleods Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 3mgs of Eszopiclone, which is a generic for Lunesta. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, and funny taste in mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

Lunesta and the flu

I have been diagnosed with the flu and told to get lots of sleep. I have severe insomnia. I take Lunesta every night to sleep, or I don’t sleep. Can I another Lunesta 12 hours later to sleep during the day as well? ## Hello, Deidra! How are you? I'm sorry that you're sick! No, it would be best to take it only as prescribed. Taking too much could result in next day impairment, and possible overdose, according to the NIH. I tried this once years ago and it caused a very nasty taste in my mouth, rather metallic and I couldn't get rid of it, no matter what I tried. Have you experienced such a problem?

round yellow pill r 34 vs round green with M and C 14

Which is the better pill? I know there both 1 mg but is one better than the other? I'm just wondering is all. ## Hello, Rugbug! How are you? No, they are both just manufactured by different companies. This is very common with generics, because it helps create market competition to keep prices lower. The one with the R logo is manufactured by Actavis and the one with the M logo is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals. The FDA classifies this medication as a benzodiazepine that is most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. It carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with? ## To be honest I've noticed the bigger the pill the better it works the small...

new generic lunesta price compared to brand lunesta

I have been taking lunesta for a couple years on and off now. Thankfully I have medicaid other wise I could not afford it. The last time I had to pay cash for a script of 30 3mg tablets it was 278.00 $ now with medicaid its only 3 bucks. I found out a month ago that a generic form was now out so I asked the pharmacy what the cash price for the generic was.
