I took the first dose at 11pm. 4 1/2 hours later still unable to fall asleep. When would it be safe to take another dose? Since I have no plans tomorrow I can as long as I need.

Hello, Beth! How are you?

3mgs is the maximum dose, taking more creates the risk of overdose, according to the FDA and even lower doses should be used if someone is elderly or has a debilitating medical condition. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, funny taste in the mouth and next day tiredness/grogginess.

If it isn't helping you sleep, it may not be the right medication to help you and you may need to speak to your doctor about trying something different.

Is there anything else I can help with?
