Ip110 Vs V3601 (Top voted first)

Updated

I have been taking v3601 yellow norco since I have had 2 spinal fusion done and they work great. One pill lasts about six hours. Now my pharmacy switched to IP 110 and I have to take 3 to 4 pills every 4 to 5 hours and they make me feel weird. I don't care what anyone says, there is a difference in the two. The ip110 are complete garbage and should be taken off the market. I am in so much pain still after 4 pills and feel like crap. How can this manufacturer think no one would notice the difference? So now I have to go all month (well I won't make it all month) taking two to three time more a day than normal. I will run out. This is such crap. So now I am forced to take more then prescribed a day just to somewhat help the pain instead of taking less to help the pain. Completely makes no sense. I am willing to pay extra per month to that pharmacy if they can dispense the yellow ones.

they still make the yellow 10/325 they are made by qualitest in alabama which was bought by par pharm. par also makes white 10/325 in new york ..... this may be what is causing the confusion. so call around and ask if they carry the yellow 3601 if thats what you want. i know they are still in production as i get them on a regular schedule. be well and good luck

Thanks. I know they still make them. The problem was cvs in Michigan no longer carries them and I have been going to the same pharmacy since I was a kid. So anyone that gets pain pills knows if you go to a new pharmacy they will say they don't have them because they look at everyone that takes them like we are drug addicts and I know there is plenty of people that do try to get them just to feel high which makes it so much harder for people like me that actually takes them for the pain. I don't get it... If I wanted to feel high I would just smoke marijuana. It is kind of like how hard it is to get Advil cold and sinus now because people decided they would start making methamphetamine with it. What's this world coming to? Thanks for the advice.

Re: Ktb (# 18) Expand Referenced Message

Suboxone is a medication than can be used for pain management or to help drug addicts stay clean. 1mg of Suboxone = 15mg of morphine, and has been used for many years in other countries to treat chronic pain, especially for those who opiates no longer work for them. It isn't like Methadone where you get stoned, nodding off, or going to a clinic daily. You feel "normal."

The pain doesn't go away 100%, but pretty close. It givest most people a better quality of life, going out, joining family functions, enjoying life more than when taking opiates.

The yellow are Par pharmaceuticals (formerly Qualitest). Par also makes white ones so I suggest calling around to pharmacies and ask if they have the yellow norco from Par that were formerly Qualtest... Good luck.

I totally understand. Same thing happened to me. When white powder is all over you after a dose there is a problem.

Gosh, I thought I was allergic to hydrocodone and all the other because after my surgery I was put on yellow norco for a month. Then whenever the oncology & primary dr's got together they decided pain management was best (first time I heard of pain management!) but anyways they kept me on the norco so I went to fill it and it was white. My pharmacist said they just took the dye out. Anyways, I got very sick ! I broke out and it was terrible ! So they put me on dilaudid and that was terrible too ! So finally I got the ultram back and I've never been able to take anything in the hydrocodone family again ! I know that couldn't have been the dye since others are saying this. I don't think they will tell you the straight of it without automatically labeling you a drug seeker... The drug company might can be called and maybe they can release what both is made of. A good pharmacist would find that out but sadly I'm hearing people say how bad they are getting treated by them. I'd hate it so bad that you're another one I see going through this. I get notifications and I always wonder who's next to be treated bad and having to suffer. Maybe you can do as the others suggested and call around. It seems a lot of holidays are ruined for so many because of the pain they endure now. Good luck to you and I hope it all works out!

Sorry to hear about your situation. But lots of pharmacies don't care, it's all about what is cheaper for them than what actually works better. Medical industry it's all about profit not helping. Most other countries don't charge a dime to fill medication.

It's not just a matter of taking the dye out. More than likely it was made by a different company. Could have been a different filler used that made you sick. A company will go with whatever is cheaper to maximize their profits. They don't care. Not only that but some companies have started using an additive that reduces the euphoric feeling in an attempt to decrease the abuse of these drugs. Sorry you had so much trouble but good to hear you found something that helps.

Thank you. They should not be allowed to play with your life like that.

It's cheaper for the pharmacies, remember now the medical industry is all about profit not about what works the best. They don't care if it's dangerous as long as it's cheaper and the make more money for them.

Re: Bobby (# 19) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you ! I wonder why drs don't prescribe that in the first place ? I'm so allergic to all the other stuff & it's aggravating to hurt and quality of life isn't the same ! They took me off NSAIDs until bleeding stops in my stomach . I'm not sure why that happened & hydrocodone and anything related to that family gave me severe reaction . So the low dose morphine is about all that's left to tolerate but on bad days the relief only lasts 4-6 hours . Sometimes I wake up at 1am and have to take it . Maybe I can ask for that kind . I don't think it would hurt to try it ! I just got to see what's in it first . I've accepted I will be medicated my entire life or until there's a known cure but until then I'm like the others , just researching and taking advice !! Again thanks so much !

Pharmacies will not give out information on the narcotics they carry over the phone.
You have to bring in your hard copy and then they will tell you...

Re: Kim (# 2) Expand Referenced Message

I have gone through the same thing with Lorazepam. Kaiser finds the cheapest brand they can get and then tells you there is not a difference. There is a huge difference and to have them order a different brand is like the apocalypse for them. It is all about the$$$. Nothing will change until people stand up against the big countries that are running the hospitals.

In reference to the yellow vicodin, i too thought they were way better. Now you cant find the yellow ones anywhere and it does seem that things are going wrong. My Dr recently accused me of getting more of the Norco from someone else and to me he was calling me a liar which i didnt take kindly to that. He said my levels were way too high. I told him more than once that i only take what he gives me. I never ever had a problem with the yellow ones and i wish there was somewhere that sold the yellow Norco. I take 3 a day, no more, so this is telling me that either A). Something really is up with the white ones and the yellow ones are better or B). These Dr's and pharma companies are in control of what and who stays on and who gets cut.

I dealt with the same only from a different manufacturer, Kaiser's new brand of Norco. I'd get on the prescribing Doctor because of bad side effects and now you might be taking more than the recommended daily amount of acetaminophen. Sounds like you were on Qualitest Generic Norco which works well for me with pain control and very little side effects.

Re: Roro (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

I would call your doctor immediately, before you go back for your follow up and then need to tell him how much of the meds you are taking, be honest upfront. If you wait until your follow up, he may not give you anything, since technically you ran out of your pain meds very early and didn't take them as prescribed.

This sounds like what happened when Fiorinal (for Migraine pain) went from tablets to time-released capsules that don’t work. Tablets are no longer manufactured and turns out time -released is the government’s attempt to prevent addiction.
Just wonder if what you’re taking is now time-released also.

Yeah,Roro, that's what I was going to ask. Is there any other pharmacy that you can get the yellow one's?
