Humira Emotional Side Effects (Page 2)

My boyfriend is on Humira and has just had his second jab, the instant he took it he has been a different person. The kind, gentle, sweet man I knew seems to be gone. He's constantly angry, he has no desire for me in any way, he's emotionally distant. In a rare normal moment he told me he feels empty, unmotivated and angry and hates himself because of it. What can I do? I hate seeing him like this. What can we do?

Paul, I’m glad you’re better. How long after stopping the Humira did the mental side effects take to leave? Any information you can share would be much appreciated. My partner was on it for 4 months. Has been off for 6 months but the depression and emotional numbness are still present.

Hi,
I am very glad to hear this. My son also used Humira for four years and stopped using it 5-6 months ago. His personality change is not completely over yet. Do you think the side effects can be permanent?

My son used for 4 years and stopped it now for 6 month, but tehe personalaty change, anxiete did not stop. And he didnt wanr any contact eith me. Can i hope that it will go over in time

Wiil the oersonalty change go over after stopping the drug. How long will it take to recovet. Because mu son stopped the drug, but his anxiety didnt go over and didnot any contact with we. When will it gi over??

Did these people have underlying anxiety issues undiagnosed? I ask bc for debilitating RA or other joint arthritis the benefit of walking and doing tasks pain free has been such a positive mental event for me. Taking 30 seconds to roll out of bed in excrutiating pain and then being hunched over all day from neck shoulder/hip RA and the inability to pick up a feather off the floor without having something to grab to get back up was mentally bad for me at 48 yrs old.
Ive prob been happier but Ive always been a glass half full guy able to adapt to life changes and ride the waves without much anxiety. Maybe the anxiety of possible serious side effects and cancer is too much for some peoples psyches, like a never ending russian roulette game. Idk but I feel for ppl having to make the choice of mind or body health. I prob wouldnt take Humira for psoriasis or skin disorders but I was in serious neck shoulder and hip joint pain to the point of being feeble.

My partner was on Humira for 4 months. He has been off it now for 1 year and 9 months and is still not back to his old self. Arzu, I wanted to reply because I can hear the desperation in your messages and have been in your shoes - scouring the forums looking for a story that might help. My partner has gradually been improving but it has been hard work. He has done everything:- diet, sleep, exercise, cold water swimming, chiropractor, acupuncture, osteopath… From where he was when the side effects were at their worst (terrible) he is much improved, but it has been really hard going. I would not wish this on anyone. We have just had him seen by a clinic that has practitioners trained in the Walsh Protocol. He is having the tests done at the moment. The lady he is seeing has personally treated 20 patients with these side effects caused by biologics. She said 5 of them were lost to follow up (ie.they stopped coming so she doesn’t know what happened to them) and the other 15 saw very good improvement - although 3/4 of them she was seeing for over a year. I am hopeful she will be able to help my partner. The hardest part has been the hospital - they are adamant the drugs cannot be causing side effects that have lasted so long, but they are wrong - as you have also seen from so many other people’s posts. I really hope for you that your son improves and you get him back. I wanted to share our story so far in case it helps you at all.

Dont use it, my son used it for 4 years and was another person, angry..agressice… now he stopted humira and used an antidepressant . Niw he is better. It was a tertible time. This medicine is realy bad experience. Dont use it.

Thank you very much. After stopping Humira, he was much better. After stopping Humira, after 6 month he begins with Lustral antidepresant and after 3 month he is now better. But we dont know how long he must use this antidepressant. What will happen when he stopped it. We will aee and I want to write it to all persons. Humira compony must see, what bad side effects like persenality change could happen. The company and rhomatholog docters must slso learn about this medicine. It should be known by all patients. I hope it will not suffer of this side effect. After using antidepressant after stopping humira it take 3 month for a better mood. But we dont know , what will happen after stopping humira.

I’m glad it works for you. But from experience it does have adverse side affects I’ve been monitoring it for 15 years. It does affect your psychological thinking eventually. Just be very careful. It is never normal to inject tNF blockers it to your body. Or any injections in to your body. For every action there is a reaction. Good luck and good health to you.

I agree I am Darlene and I just started my humiara Friday ,it's Monday and I've been really angry and every lil thing bothers me ,my head rings loud, this needs to be put in the effects not sure why it hasn't as there sure is a lot of ppl with the exact same effects after using the same medication, the. Empty angry feeling, I get annoyed easily and, sounds even bother me, and I have out burst too, I yelled at my 43 yr old ,twice this weekend, like I felt soooo angry, and emotional, and I felt fine before this med we been getting along good ,so it's this med, something needs to be done about it this is wrong for ppl to not expect this and it hits them out of no where and I just used my first does Friday, I feel real anxious, and it effects my heart rythm I see my primary doc TMR and I'm bringing it up to him tmr I'm gonna call the company to and tell them more ppl should call humiara and make them aware of this

I've only been on humira since Friday ,today is mon didy first dose 80 mg and I have felt anxious, irritable, angry, mad, and loud ringing in my ears, I yelled at my 43 yr old son twice this weekend and we been getting along good lately,

Wow and I just started it Friday and have all same feelings anger, feeling bigtime anxious,I shake a lil, I don't feel.good ,my arthritis feels worse, I'm talking to my primary doc TMR and I'm calling humira TMR someone needs to tell them I've read a lot of ppl on here having same experience and they need to know I'm calling them TMR

I use cannibis for my issues ,it's legal in oregon and it helps bigtime, I just started humira Friday and having anger issues, anxiety pretty bad, no motivation just not feeling my self, I use bud and edibles now
