Hi I am hiv positive and on tribuss medication, I now have a 9 weeks son who was born negative and was given nevirapine at birth till he was 6weeks then given Iltrim.I was breastfeeding exclusively till he was 2weeks then gave him breastfeed, formula and cereal because he was not getting full on breast milk only does this mean that my son is now hiv positive even though I take my treatment religiously and gave him his ? ## Hello, Nikkie! How are you? No, mixed feeding would not affect that. You both just need to continue to take the prescribed medications, until he is done breastfeeding, as reported by the NIH. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you so so much for your honesty, I also have the same problem. I was even afraid of giving my daughter a flu medicine because we ...

I want to use the eflaten tablet but i was diagnosed with HIV since 2010. Then i stopped my treatment last year after my TB treatment. Can i start taking the eflaten tablet again? ## How does aflaten work if I'm intimate with someone who is hiv negative without using protection? ## Hi, i want to know - my b.f has taken eflaten tablets and we used protection and one day it failed, so I am asking to know if I might get any problem from him? I am worried i'm hiv positive. plz help ## You need to be tested for drug resistance. You may have to go on a second line drug. Stopping an ARV can cause it to become ineffective against your virus. And then a completely different type of ARV is needed. ## He needs to learn his viral load. If it is undetectable then it is safe. To make sure you...

Thanks. ## Hello, Siffy! How are you? If it contains the same active ingredient, then it should work for just as well as the other one. I can't say you'll stay undetectable, because sometimes our bodies get used to a medication and it may not be as effective. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Good day Can you tell me if I have yellow eyes due to HiV treatment should ## Hi, I just started using Eflaten..i first experience minor side effects but in a month i seems OK...But now I have big pi...

I had intercourse almost 2 years ago with someone I didn't know very well. I was diagnosed with HSV2 a few months after that - I have not had any bad outbreaks since and have not been taking any medication to prevent it either. We used a condom every time and I took an at home HIV test almost 7 months after our last encounter which was negative. Recently, I have had an ear blockage that was believed to be due to allergies and an unfortunate allergy to the antibiotic. I know the risk of me having HIV is low but I still just can't shake the idea. Is it possible? ## The only way to find out is by seeing your doctor and requesting a blood test to check for it, these tests are much more reliable than the others, according to FDA reviews. Your doctor has heard it all and seen it all, ...

When will Remune be available i need this vaccine desperately? Why has this not been approved yet i am sick from taking the drugs i vomit daily :( ## The developer is actually now working on a different medication that combines Remind with something else. It has not been presented yet, for FDA approval. And it is not a vaccine, nor a cure, if it does pass evaluations and get approved, it will only be another treatment therapy. I am sorry that the medications make you so ill. Do you take anything for the nausea? ## There is nothing worse than the miserable side-effects associated with toxic drugs. A therapeutic vaccine such as Remune would help dramatically. ## I just read about the Remune news finally being submitted for approval. How long does it take before the FDA will approve this v...

Hi, my bf is hiv positive and i am hiv negative. We use protection during intimacy and try to be as safe as possible. However the other day the condom broke. We went to the doctor and i was given eflaten which i took within 72 hours and still on it til now. I just want to know, does this drug prevent someone from being infected with hiv if they are negative and taken within 72 hours? ## Hello, Babs! How are you? Yes, some antibiotics and antivirals, such as this medication can help prevent HIV infection, though there are never any guarantees. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, headache and stomach pain. How long did your doctor tell you to take it?

The FDA lists the typical side effects of Efavirenz as possible including nausea, headache, depression, back pain and abdominal pain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What will happen if I skip two days not taking my eflaten. ## Hi, I slept with a girl and we were using condoms; as of which she started bleeding. I don't trust her. Will I get HIV after 72 hrs? I bought Eflaten tables after 2 hrs. Will they help me?

I've been doing very well with Complera since January. I have been wondering if I can take 5HTP with it. I am a 50 year old female in fairly good physical health but I'm really depressed and low on energy. I use to take 5HTP a few years ago and had great results with it but need to see if it can work again. Don't want to mess up the Complera so any help would be appreciated! ## Hello, Bear 50! How are you? I didn't find any interactions listed between them in the MedScape database, but it's always best to double check such information to be safe, but if your doctor approves, there shouldn't be any problem with your taking it. According to the FDA, Complera is used to treat HIV and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache and insomnia. Is there anything...

I cannot swallow Tivicay. Is it ok to crush this medication for easier dosing/administration? If so, how much of its potency is lost? ## Hello, J! How are you? I'm not seeing anything saying that can't be done, though you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure. And it should not lose potency due to breaking, cutting or crushing. going to wean off hydrea to obtain 400 or less platelet levels before going off of it. taking 500mg 2x weekly. Dr. say take l cap and 2cap every other day. Present plt level is 570. Research I came up with quote to increase extra capsules for one day a week .eg.., (2) caps 6 days &, 3caps 1 day, that hydrea works on a weekly basis rather than daily dose. I don't have experience with this medication personally, but in my opinion it would probably be best to just go along with what your doctor suggests as far as tapering is concerned.
