Does Anyone Take Lannett Fioricet? I'm Used To Mikart Brand.

Updated

I'd get a second opinion or maybe a third too before switching manufacturers of Fioricet. Suicide is huge with these drugs and there is no way to figure out who is going to be affected. It also changes the brain. It could potentially cause them lifelong difficulty. No one will tell you the awful adverse effects of coming off them. I would check for a vitamin and mineral deficiency, gut bacterial imbalance, possible brain injury and most importantly look at the environment and the people around you. Please exhaust all other possible causes before starting this drug meant for adult brains. It could be an infection like strep or inflammation from an immune system that won't shut down. You need to know big pharma is pushing doctors to prescribe off-label for the sole purpose of increasing market share and profits.

Hi Stephanie,

Thanks for the heads up concerning possible side effects or withdrawal from Fioricet (Acetaminophen / Butalbital / Caffeine).

Some versions of Fioricet also come with Codeine, which could add to the potential risk factors described above.
However, Lannett's version appears to be comprised of Acetaminophen (325mg), Butalbital (50mg) & Caffeine (40mg), without Codeine.

Labeler: Lannett Company, Inc.
NDC: 00527-1695

Inactive Ingredients:
-Cellulose, Microcrystalline
-Crospovidone
-Croscarmellose Sodium
-Starch, Corn
-Stearic Acid
-Silicon Dioxide
-Magnesium Stearate
-Fd&c Blue No. 1

Inactive ingredients can also contribute to various side effects, allergies, or overall bioavailability, but are often overlooked. So that is just something to be mindful of as well when considering any medication.

Hope this info helps!

Stephane posted an answer that appears to be mine regarding putting 5 year old on SSRI. Tramadol is a pain killer and worked pretty good for me with no "high". I had muscle pain not migraine. I don't know Fioricet.

I was told Lannet was the only manufacturer. I've taken it for 40 yrs. Makes one nervous and sometimes off the wall, but it helps migraines.
I swear Lannet has changed the formula as it doesn't seem the same. I liked whoever made it before Activis took it over. It's an old pill and MGH Boston doesn't even have it in their pharmacy or prescribe it much. But, it does work.

Butalbital as you may or may not know is a barbiturate and works on the brain; barbiturates are dangerous, especially the shorter acting ones like Secobarbital and Pentobarbital. The therapeutic dose is not too far off than the lethal dose. Be careful.

A so called friend of mine orders fioricet through the mail and it totally messes her up to the point as if she's drank a gallon of booze, making her a total ***** and the meanest person to know. She orders it because she can't get vicodin. {edited for privacy}

Going to have a harder time getting off barbiturates than benzos. Neither is fun, but withdrawal from barbs can be deadly!

I have been taking Fioricet for migraines since the 90s. I’m not sure what you’re even talking about.
