Adderall Backorder (Page 43) (Top voted first)

Updated

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

Frankly, I would give them that information if I could get an answer.

It seems some pharmacies are not experiencing shortages, while others are right now. I was told a couple of days ago by my local Walgreens pharmacists that all Walgreen locations have been notified that they will not have Adderall in stock until October 2022! Sadly, the only way to know who has it is by calling around to various drug stores before going somewhere to try and fill it.

Oh dang I'm so glad I don't use Walgreens anymore since my Express Scripts PBM eliminated them. In past had no issue. But most of the posts here are Walgreens. Did something I've NEVER done and started using Supermarket pharmacy. Publix or Stop & Shop. Totally better experience. Not once has it been mobbed. Haven't once waited on a line even and they answer phone on first ring. No joke.

Re: Passy (# 1125) Expand Referenced Message

@Passy's note is not accurate because laws, policies, rules about cII scripts will vary by State.

Florida will keep an unfilled adderall script on file for a year. Other states say after 30 days unfilled, a new script is needed.

This can also vary by Pharmacy policy. All follow the law and some are even stricter. Because individual pharmacists are given a fair amount of latitude and discretion in filling CIi meds. Some will fill a partial if their supply is under the written script. Some will never fill a partial. Bottom line is to ask questions, get a name, don't assume all States and pharmacies have the same policies. A simple Google search shows that each State has unique Statutes about dispensing controlled meds

Yes! That happened to me last month. I always get TEVA. I go to pick it up and right before I pay for it, she said "by the way it's a different manufacturer." I told her to put it back and asked if they could get teva in. She said yes. And they did a few days later. Now they have nothing.

This was 1 particular pharmacist that works the overnight shift in my local 24 hour location. I assume he deals with a lot of addicts as we had a ton of assisted living houses built here and then our previous governor cut all the funding for them leaving a huge population of severe mental health and addiction patients back on the streets. While it doesnt excuse how rude he always was to me, i didnt want to trash the whole pharmacy for 1 person's attitude. My real problem is lax attitude of CHR, my top rate insurance and the lack of communication between them and walgreens and then 0 communication to me. Everyone points the finger and nobody seems to be concerned with solving the issues.

Do you know which brand they got? It would be helpful to know what brands are being distributed and manufactured, as they tend to dominate the market. Also, please, which pharmacy said they could get Teva? hat's really helpful information because brand availability literally varies by supplier, i.e. McKesson, AmerisourceBergen and Cardinal Health.

Re: BlessedLady (# 1139) Expand Referenced Message

Not my experience and I find the whole idea repugnant. Is it an opinion? Which is totally cool. Or is this actual policy based on "inside info? "
When I read it, it comes off presumptive, tbh. I simply have not experienced this type of ageism.

I legit called TevaPharm and they said all Adderall was available and definitely not on back order. This was 6/28/2022 and they told me to check other pharmacies. But every pharmacy only has Lanette, Sandoz, Auro, Camber. I feel so helpless.

Lucky, I wish I could have gotten Teva… I’m stuck with Sandoz this month it looks like… I wish it were different.

Delaware - Out of Stock - Long-Term Back Order!

Made a post here back on June 14th bc I had trouble getting my normal script filled at the Walgreens in my area. They ended up filling w/ Camber T376 - 30mg IR’s which have been absolutely worthless. Almost seems like this is some kinda sugar placebo drug. Doesnt seem to help at all, in fact most of the time I end up getting a headache when I do decide to take that crap. My next appt is July 7th, so 6 days away & I still have 47 of 60 pills prescribed per month. These things are worthless, Walgreens should be ashamed of themselves for putting their customers in this position. Since my appt is 6 days away, I decided to call around & check with a few other Walgreens locations. Well I ended up calling a total of 17 locations that spanned as far away as 65 miles from me, but still got the same response each time - they dont have any of the 30mg Teva in stock, in fact their on long-term back order. This is some absolute BS, but unfortunately I guess there’s nothing any of us can do now but wait…..

Do any other larger pharmacy chains carry this same 30mg Teva IR’s? Like RiteAid, CVS, Walmart, Costco, etc? Or does anyone have any recommendations of what to try next? Are there any on-line shipping services available with stock or possibly some smaller compounding pharmacies? Thanks in advance for the help!

We know that AmerisourceBergen has Teva. Find a pharmacy that uses ABC as a supplier. It's stocked, that's been established.

I have found Stop & Shop and Publix the most helpful.

Orders arrive in 24-72 hours.

Re: JR (# 1149) Expand Referenced Message

I’m in Texas & have called several CVS, Walgreen’s, Walmart, Kroger pharmacies and they all say the same thing. Teva is on “back order” and they don’t know when they will be getting anything in. Sitting at CVS right now as we speak to pick up my prescription and was just now told that they have somehow LOST my prescription and it’s deleted from their system…..I’m infuriated right now.

What is going on?! Something seems rigged in general per say.

I had no issues until this month - I had to wait 2 days for my Walgreens to get 90 generic teva 30mg in - my husband had to wait on a Friday when his doctor sent over the e-script they had to order his 20mg and they came in on the following Monday. His always were the Teva brand in the past and this time they were Rhodes - I’ve read quite a bit that quite a few people have complained about this Rhodes brand - but my husband feels it works better for him than Teva did. Best of luck out there. My best advice is befriend a pharmacist and always fill at the same location. Because of this - the pharmacist manager knows we fill there every month and when stocks of meds are short what they do get in and they know your fill dates they will typically turn away people just randomly popping in with new scripts knowing we fill monthly. Hopefully this mess clears up quickly - I know firsthand what it’s like to try to just mentally function with severe adhd let alone perform at my normal level at work.

Re: JR (# 1164) Expand Referenced Message

Super interesting. I’m in Ohio and if you read my post just a minute ago this is the first month I’ve had to wait or even knew they were having “shortage” issues - but I picked up my script from Walgreens 30 mg 90 pills Teva - but they did have to order them so they are coming from somewhere.

Re: Grace (# 1154) Expand Referenced Message

I went to Rite Aid even though I had to settle for the Mallinckrodt brand which is not as effective as Teva.

Walgreens suggested going to a non-chain small pharmacy. That makes me think something fishy is going on. Best of luck to you. Crazy times we are living in. I am sure this is just the beginning of out of stock issues for all goods.

Weird, because the maximum daily amount of Adderall is 60 mg. How did you get a prescription for that? Doesn't make sense to me.

Re: James K (# 1174) Expand Referenced Message

Is there any known info regarding a date range in which it will be returned to pharmacies? Well aware most are just as in the dark as i, a hopeful inquiry. I rationalized it must be filled in under a two week time range in order to fit any logical political restrictions in place however you seem more informed than I do here

Careful, I personally wouldn't try it. Not worth the risk. The 'manufacturers' or whoever created the batch could be putting anything in them - including a street form of speed or nothing at all regarding ADHD.
