if u are taking the 10/750 vicodins, the 30 mg oxy is like taking 3 vicodins. oxy is an opiate as well. minus the acetametaphine (tylenol) that's in vicodin..

Verwon Says:

Yes, the Oxycodone is stronger, but I can't really give you a comparison, without knowing the precise dosage of the Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen combination you were taking. The 750 you posted just refers to the Acetaminophen, but there are several different strengths of the Hydrocodone available.

Have you tried the Oxycodone, yet? And if so, how is it working for you?

Hi Verwon. Thank you for finally confirming what I have been trying to get people to understand what the difference is between the 2 numbers 5/500 10/325 etc. Can you also clarify something for me out of curiosity. I have been told that Norcos are vicodins that are 10/325 strength. Any thoughts? Also, I have found the Tylenol in vicodins are very nauseating. Is this a common effect of this medication?

Yes the Vicodins and Norcos are the same. As are perc's, Loratabs. They come in 5/325, 7.5/325, 10/325, and also 500 and 750. the last numbers are they tylenol they first is the mg strenght. Just the name different, but same meds. And yes the more the tylenol the possible stomach upset. I have been taking 10/325 oxycodons 6-8 daily and now my doc put me on 30mg cr oxycontin and 7.5/325 hydrocodon 4-5 daily for breakthru pain. Which I have taken none of yet. Seeking more information on the oxy 30mg cr. I hope this helped answer your questions. I dont know a lot about them but that I understand is to be true. Good luck, hoping for you and all of us a pain free day. Bless

I am now taking 30 mg oxycontin 2 a day, versus the 12 lortab 10/325 per day since I recently had back surgery and am now scheduled for a hysterectomy. Is the oxycontin better, (as in more pain relief versus less pills)? and will this effectively control my pain?

I am allergic to morphine. period. so why do so many doctors ask me what medications have morphine in them so They know what to prescribe me? That is what I rely on them for. Is there anywhere I can get a medical book that lists medications specifically with morphine so I'll know?
