Can a pharmacists change the doctors written prescription or more to the point can anyone other than the doctor alter or write on the prescription face to change the refill or prescribed dosage time. If not then how does one go about filing a complaint. Altering a document and with the Florida law as written would that be considered forgery. ## Of course changes can be made, but they have to be authorized by the doctor and, if the prescription is for a controlled substance, then an entirely new prescription should be written to be on file at the pharmacy. Pharmacy Discount Cards
I just found a pharmacy discount card that gave me 80% off of my Wellbutrin prescription! The card was free to sign up for and was super easy to work. advorx.com is the site. Has anyone had a bad experience with a rx discount card like this? It says it works at all major chain pharmacies and even works to get discount diabetes supplies. But my question is if there are any strings attached that I will realize later and if the card will continue working? ## To my knowledge, most of these types of cards are legitimate with no strings attached and should work (continuously) at any of the well-known pharmacies in your area. Pharmacy in South Florida that takes insurance for Oxy 30's?
I've been getting my scripts filled at my local CVS for over a year, and now they tell me they might not get them anymore. All the other pharmacies I've tried that have them in stock, they charge 4.45 per pill! That would be over $700 for me! Does anyone know where I can get my script filled with insurance? ## If your insurance covers it and a pharmacy accepts that insurance, there shouldn't be a problem. Pharmacy ripped me off
My husband has a prescription for 90 1mg generic xanax 90 count. We just got home and when he counted the bottle there were only 60 tablets. The pharmacist says the medication was double counted because it is a class 3 drug, however, I also picked up a class 4 medication today temazepam and it certainly was not double counted. Isn't there a way that we can find out if they shorted him? I should note that the pharmasist is being very defensive and rude..I know that they are wrong, but they say they are right..I should say the Pharmacy is new to Ca, It is CVS.. What happens if wwe have a stand off? Do we have anyway of proving them wrong. My husband has daily severe panic attacks and being shorted 30 is a big deal. Pharmacy Tech Lies to Doctor about Patient Request
Hello! I am a diabetic. I was originally diagnosed as T1, but we have now discovered I am a T2 (long story). My endo wanted me to check blood sugar 8X day just to make sure my conversion from Insulin to Metformin was working out OK. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. I went into my pharmacy to get test strips refilled. The pharmacy tech asked if I was still testing 8x day. I said no, I averaged 3 to 4x per day since my blood sugar seemed for the most part to stay within range. She said based on that info they needed to change my prescription for test strips. I assumed I would go down to 4x day, which would be fine. I went back in last Friday-nothing had been done. I went back in yesterday. The same pharmacy tech said THE DOCTOR had changed the prescription to 1x day. I knew somethin... ...

The generic Watson pain med has really controlled my Severe disabling pain and I was switched to another generic brand which is not working for me. Is ther any pharmacies that carry this ? Help ## There is no database that lets anyone know what pharmacy carries the medication from any particular manufacturer, such information would be completely dynamic and virtually impossible to keep updated, anyway. But what particular pain medication are you talking about? Have you tried asking your pharmacy if they can order it back in for you? They will usually do so for regular customers, but you may have to pay any small price difference between it and the current generic, since insurance usually won't do so. ...

i feel so awful that i have to get on here and ask for help. i understand that there are people that get meds and misuse and sell them but im a legit pain patient and i need help getting my meds filled. im from ky but cannot get the help i need. so i legally went to a pain clinic in GA. and i feel like a criminal, people in these pharmacies look at you like your crazy, i just need to know a place i can get my meds filled. id do random pill counts if it would help, im not a dealer just someone in pain, can anyone help me. ## No need to feel awful, you need assistance and it happens to everyone, at once time or another. My RX was written for 168. The Pharmacy cut it to 150 without telling me. I lost the 16 pills. Is this legal to do this. ## Are you sure it was written for 168, or is it possible you misread your doctor's handwriting? Prescriptions for controlled substances can be written for no more than 30days and they are usually written according to the maximum number that can be taken each day. Thus, 2 pills a day would be 60 and 3 a day would be 90. 150 tablets is 5 a day, therefore 168 actually doesn't make any sense, because the next possible number would be 6 a day, which is 180 tablets. So, if they weren't sure of the number, due to difficult reading it, or there seemed to be a discrepancy between it and the dosing instructions, they would go by the logical dosing instructions and ... ...

ive been on oxycodone 15mgs for about 3 months for chronic back pain and now this month no pharmacy has it does anyone know whats going on ## I'm sorry, but we have no way of knowing what pharmacy has any given medication in stock, at any given time. There was a shortage, due to imposed manufacturing limits at the end of the year, so it may just be taking awhile for all pharmacies to get a supply back in to fill prescriptions. Has anyone had luck getting theirs filled, yet? ## No we do not!!! We all hoped when the Feds cracked dowm on the "pill mills" that legit people would no longer suffer.
