I have been taking Azor 1mg twice a day for more than 5 years now. It is terrible when I do not take an azor for more than two days the side effects are horrible. I would like to come off the azor but it is very difficult with the side effects. ## How can I ween myself off azor without having terrible side effects ## Hello, Teresa! How are you? Are you taking this to treat high blood pressure, or a heart condition? If so, it might not be safe for you to stop it. Why do you want to stop taking it? The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

I have been on dexilant now for 3 months and for me it's been good. My concern is of course the long-term effect with this medication as it seems this medication is used for short-term up to 6 months from what I have read. Why is that?? My wife has been on another proton pill for like 15 years now but this one seems different. Can you actually take this one forever? What's the alternative if you're not able due to the long-term issues? This medication works for me but I'm a little nervous if I'm not able to take this one long term. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. ## Hello, Bert! How are you? Actually, all of them increase the risk of hip fractures, with long-term use, especially in the elderly, according to the NIH. This applies to all PPIs. Other side ef...

I'm looking for a new pain management Doctor near King of Prussia Pa. I've been a chronic pain patient for about 10 years. Had low back & beck surgery with hardware. I don't want to write a long drawn out story. My question is to Lee C or anyone that can help me. I'm presently taking Oxycodone 30's 6 x's day. My body has become so immune to it that it is only working to relieve my pain for about an hour. I believe that I need a longer acting medication with the Oxycodones. However, I don't seem to get much help from my doctor. Therefore, I'm looking for a new pain management Doctor near the King of Prussia Pa area. Can anyone provide me with some suggestions? Thank you.

Has anyone ever reported the drug being less efficient or to cause illness after being taken several years? ## Being less effective after a long period of time on the same dosage is common with all drugs. As your body adjusts to that dosage, you continue to need higher dosages to get the same effects.

I was 5 years into my nurseing career when I crashed and burned hard. At the end I was misusing over 100mg of morphine /day, or 8mg hydromorphone, or 300mg meperidine. Went to heroin after getting caught and losing license. 3 to 5g/day if I could. So I was a very heavy user for 9 years or so. Went to rehab, did 35 days in patient. That first 30 was bad. Insomnia, PAWS, depression all pretty bad. But in patient, with 20 or more other survivors, structured days etc made it possible. After discharge (I went 3000 miles from home for rehab) I returned and plugged into recovery network. Meetings, sponsor, phone calls etc. First 2 weeks out (day 35-50) were tough. Restless leg, cramps, diarrhea, insomnia, depression, anxiety, lethargy, all part of PAWS. Friends in the rooms said it would pass....

Would like to hear from anyone who has been a long-term user of Nexavar. I am on my 45th cycle and my oncologist has not had anyone else stay on it for such a long time. We are looking for information on side-effects for long-term users. ## From the lack of responses, I am wondering if Nexavar is used in the USA. I am in South Africa, and we do not have a lot of the facilities, options and drugs that are available there. ## It is available here in the U.S., it just appears that it not the common first choice treatment option. I'm sorry, I wish you'd have gotten some responses and had been provided with more information. I'm glancing over the information listed by the FDA, but there's really nothing on here regarding long-term use. Some of the serious side effects that th...

I am 56 years old. I was diagnosed with "GERD" 3 years ago for which I was prescribed SETGI rabeprazole sodium and domperidone formulation - 1 capsule daily. I have been using the medicine since then without any side effects. Have noticed that since last year, I can do with one capsule every alternate day with no adverse effect. However, discontinuance beyond that the diagnosed problems resurface all over again. Is it OK to continue taking this medicine kind of lifelong? Thanks and Regards.

I have been on percocet for the past 6 yrs now at 10 mil x 5 a day and was wondering does anyone find that they have a need for stronger doses over time? Hi I'm in the U.K. And been on oxycodone for just over 2 years. Prior to this I was taking MST morphine. I lost me mum at the end of last year and whilst she was ill in the hospital I was waiting for a 2nd operation on my L2 disc. At the time I was really low and took a 10 mil ER to make my mood better, not really for pain, which was a mistake as I'm now taking too much this way. I'm really at a crossroads in my life and feel mood swings daily! I need to get a grip before it's too late! If I didn't have children I probably would already be gone to be honest! I'm hoping for a reply off someone who's been in similar situations and can give me a positive outlook for the future! Please help me. I'm seriously lower than a snakes belly and take more and more as...

I’ve been on methadone for over 20 years. I do not take anything else except what my Dr gives me for high BP and trazodone for sleep. Why am I so weak and tired all the time? Is it the methadone or something else? ## Hello, Calu! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems you're having. What are your usual BP levels? Have you ever checked it at home, at the time when you feel the worst? What blood pressure medications are you taking? Can you please post back with more details? Thanks! ## My blood pressure stays at about 160/95. I take benazepril 30 mg and aml...

following exterrnal beam radiation, and seed implant, how long can or should a patient continue the eligard injections? are there benefits for continued use? Does anyone know of what vitamins to supplement the effects of long-term suboxene use? Been having a hard time finding the information ## Hi, Jax! How are you? The reason you aren't finding that information is because such studies aren't done. It's just not something that money is typically spent on research to see what vitamins best help someone taking any given prescription medication. It would be great if it were done, but I'm not sure that will ever actually happen. Learn more Suboxone details here. You should check with your doctor to see if it's okay for you to add a good multi, that would probably be the best way to go about it. Then you make sure that you get all of the essentials.

I have been taking adalat for 21 years now. In the last 3 years I have lived a healthier lifestyle. My BP has been great. So my doctor said I could ween myself off of medicine. What type of withdrawal symptoms can I expect to have? ## Hello, Jan! How are you doing? The FDA lists the typical ones as possibly including nausea, headache, elevated heart rate and elevated blood pressure. That's why you need to be very careful to wean off slowly, because it will help prevent your heart rate and blood pressure from hitting dangerous levels. Is there anything else I can help with?
