I am currently on morphine (one every 4-6 hours) for severe stomach pains until i can make an appointment for a scan. I get tired a lot, often makes me groggy and quite weak. Other symptoms i get with morphine are headaches and nausea. The tired part is normal due to the medication being very strong. ## Hello, Khloe! How are you? Yes, those can all be normal side effects of Morphine, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, headache and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hello Khloe, Narcotic medications have numerous different effects on people and they also vary how they affect those that take them. It sounds like you haven't taken those types of medications before, or at least not much at all. First off please make sure you're not doing...

I started Contrave 4 days ago, today being my 5th dose. Every day, I take the pill about 8am and by 9:30-10am I am so sleepy I can't stand it. Days 1 and 2 I managed to fight it off until about 12-12:30, day 3 until about 1-1:30, and day 4 I fought it off until 3pm. If I take a 1-2 hour nap, I wake up fine, with energy and then cannot get to sleep until about 2am, sometimes 3am. Today is day 5, I'm having that "drunk" feeling and sleepy, but no where near how it has been. It seems this effect is slowly wearing off, but I haven't seen anywhere where this is a common side effect. I know all medications effect everyone differently, so I'm wondering if this is something I should be concerned about, or just another side effect that I will get used to as the weeks go o...

Does anyone know why Dilaudid doesn't make me sleepy anymore? When I first started taking it I was very drowsy and now I don't fall asleep anymore. Nor do I get drowsy. Is this normal? ## Hello, Katrail! How are you? Such side effects usually only last for a few weeks, while your body is getting used to the medication, then they taper off. Thus, it shouldn't make you drowsy, all the time, if you're taking it regularly. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? They may be able to prescribe something to help you sleep. ## This is common with opiates. Usually if you are taking it for too long your body...

Why does a Watson 932 make you so groggy? Never had this happen could they be old? ## Hello, Bella! How are you? Watson lists this tablet as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, those are normal side effects of it. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have only been taking Baclofen for about a week at a really low dose (10-15 mg. a day). I've been experiencing really disturbing "nods" while driving. I mean like, checking out, suddenly, unable to not drift off. Has anyone else experienced this? ## Hello, Beth! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. That is listed as a known side effect of this medication in some people that take it, that's usually why you're advised not to drive, until you see how it affects you, so you won't be nodding off or getting dizzy while driving. Other side effects as listed by the FDA may possibly include nausea, headache and dry mouth. It may be best to speak to your doctor about trying a different muscle relaxant. Is there anything else I can hel...

I am prescribed 60mg of morphine sulfate twice daily and 30mg of immediate release morphine every eight hours. About one to two hours before the next dose is due I become very sleepy. When I take my dose it makes me wide awake. Why does it work this way on me ## Hello, Trish! How are you? There's no real explanation for it, that's just how some opiates work in some people that take them. That's part of the reason that some people become addicted, they like the rush of energy they get from them, so they keep taking more and more to keep experiencing it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Will this pill make u sleepy? So should I take it at bedtime? ## Hi Alicia, The green pill you're describing marked 44 464, contains the following active ingredients: Acetaminophen 500mg + Diphenhydramine 12.5mg + Phenylephrine 5mg. As far as side effects are concerned, high doses of acetaminophen can cause extreme tiredness. Drowsiness, dizziness, and muscle weakness, are also listed as common side effects of diphenhydramine. On the contrary, "sleeplessness" is listed as a general side effect of phenylephrine. So it sounds like you have a mix medications that could be pulling your energy in all these different directions, depending on how your body reacts to them. Not everyone who takes those medications experiences these types of side effects. So in the end it's reall...

I got a cortisone inj. in my knee because it is bone on bone. That was on July 18th and today is July the 26th. I am very sleepy. Is this normal? ## Yes, that can be a normal side effect, according to the FDA, you may also experience administration site pain, redness, and inflammation. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? One of my friends had one done the other day and she said it is very painful.

Been on 75 mgs of Zoloft for 3 weeks, I was tired a lot before taking it but now I'm even more tired. My question is would maybe jumping up to 150 help this? I was told the tiredness was likely from depression (had all blood tests run to see if it was anything else. Thanks ## Hello, Gary! How are you feeling? Tiredness and drowsiness are among the possible side effects of Zoloft, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. However, it should wear off and improve in severity, as your body gets used to the medication, so it may take 4 weeks, or so. Raising the dosage could actually just make it worse. These medications tend to cause REM Onset Latency which means your don't enter the REM phase of sleep as fast as usual and don...

Hello there, My son has been on Intuniv ER 1mg for four days. The Dr says give it time, but how much time he didnt say. My son takes it at 8am, and at 2pm each day he is tired. after a nap, still tired for the rest of the day. Anyone know how long this might last? Thanks ## Intuniv ER contains the active ingredient Guanfacine, it is used to lower blood pressure and treat ADHD. Drowsiness and fatigue are normal side effects, they should taper off as his body gets used to the medication, this could take from 2 weeks to a month. If it gets worse or does not improve, then make sure to speak to your doctor, again. Other side effects can include: headache, constipation and loss of appetite. For chronic back pain, I been taking. 126 hydrocodone which makes me sleepy, ware. M 357 didnot. Would. 7.325 be as good as. M 357? My point is, 7.325 strong? ## Hello, London! How are you? How long have you been taking the ones with the 126 marking? They do have a lower amount of Acetaminophen in them, than the others that you were taking. Thus, your tiredness could actually be due to some slight withdrawal effects, since they aren't as potent and it may take a couple weeks for your body to adjust. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, if it is causing you a severe problem, then please consult your doctor as you may need a dosage adjustment. Is...

I am taking 3 30 mgs of MSContin per day. It makes me sleepy and I need a nap about an hour after taking it. My Doctor is willing to switch me to OxyContin 30 mgs 3 30 mgs per day. Which medicine makes you sleepier? ## No one can say for sure if a certain med will make you sleepy. Morphine is more sedating, for most people, than OxyContin is. ## Hello, Candy! How are you? When I was on pain management for several years, Morphine always knocked me out, but I only experienced a little drowsiness with Oxycodone. However, as BL has stated, no one can say how any given medication will affect you. We are all different, so the only solution is to try it and see. I have been on Vyvanse now for about a week and a half. I am only taking 30 mg and was diagnosed with Adult ADD. I am not sure if this is usual but I am feeling very sleepy. I see that a lot of people post that they can not sleep, well for me that is not the case. I feel like I am half awake through the morning and the afternoon. The medication seems to wear of in the late afternoon because I slowly start to feel more alert, my apatite comes back, and so does the symptoms of ADD. I have been getting headaches at night. When I am on the Vyvanse, I do feel calmer and able to deal with things better. It has helped with my anxiety which I believe was cause by being unorganized, late, and all over the place before. I like that about this medication but wonder if it's the wrong one for me...

I have r039 yellow xanax 2mg bars and they do not taste bitter like the white greenstone ones. The taste is not completely bad. Also the g3722 do not do much for me besides getting me sleepy. However these yellow ones do make me feel better but the best ones are Pfizer Xanax, these yellow ones are somewhat sweet in taste. Are they a comparable generic? ## Xanax is always bitter in every color or shape you will find, same with Soma. If it is not bitter, its not alprazolam. ## @Bruh, I've seen a lot of posts lately about people asking if their xanax is real or not. But in order to formulate a proper answer, one would need to know if you filled a prescription at an established licensed pharmacy? And if the answer is no, then a lab analysis would be the only honest form of verification ...

This is similar to benadryl or vistaril. It's an older drug and been around a long time like benadryl. It will make u sleepy. It won't cure scabies but it'll help u not to scratch the bumps. Scabies are micro bugs that are kinda like mini ticks that burrow under the skin a suck blood. Be sure u treat all your clothes, furniture, car seats, and bedding. If u don't they'll just infest your home and u. The med will help with the itch only! Good luck getting rid of your little blood suckers...... I am finding that when I take my PRN (as needed) dose of IR morphine any time after 4 pm, no matter what I take, lorazepam, ambien, phenergan, soma that I can't fall asleep and if I do it's that "yen" type of sleep where I am kind of in a trance. I am finding that I need the PRN dosing more and more at night so what can I do to counter the effects. In the day it makes me sleepy but at night it's completely different. I've asked my doctor about it and for a different solution but he says there is nothing stronger or better that he can prescribe that I can afford - I don't have prescription coverage. I've looked into the affordability of some of the other options and they are more than my mortgage! I can't qualify for any RX assistance because I am on M...

## What is this medication prescribed for? ## Carisoprodol is a muscle relaxant. It is used to treat injuries and other painful muscular conditions. I am thinking it's similar to Soma (?) ## I currently take this medication and it is a muscle relaxer but also used as a sleep aid. It is the same as Soma. It's the generic substitute... I've had good results with it and no side effects except it makes me sleepy. ## It is the active ingredient in Soma, so it is the generic for it. It is used to treat the pain associated with muscle strains, pain, and spasms. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with?
