I've been taking soma / carisoprodol off and on for 22 years. When I first took it, I was told to take two 350 mg at bedtime, and it was too much and I nicknamed it Coma! Later I learned that when I first start taking soma after not taking it for a long time to only take 1/4 tab, or even a bit less. Later I can take more as needed, but starting out 1/4 or even 1/8th helps when I haven't take it for a very long time. Now I can't find a doctor who will prescribe it, I read as much as I could find and asked as many, doctors, pharmacists why, and they said various things, but it seemed to come down to the medicine has fallen out of favor because of abuse, "A considerable proportion of carisoprodol is metabolized to meprobamate" (from Wikipedia and that there is abuse. I ...

I am in excruciating pain. I found an old script for Soma that expired in 1996. Can I take it without doing any harm? ## You could although it may not work like it did when new ## Yes, Eddy is correct, expired medications can be less effective than when they were fresh and new. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. This is also not a pain reliever, it is a muscle relaxant, so it may not help you in the way you wish. Are you on any other medications? Have you consulted your doctor? ## Pharmacist are eager to hurt and not help. They have no idea what your medical condition is and don’t care. They are judgmental, especially if you are in pain and old. Maybe they should take an oath. “First Do No Harm.”. Hu...

My friend has come across a bottle of pills in her daughter's room. They are in a pharmacy bottle dated back in to 2005 and the pill imprint is A 266 and on the bottles label it says Carisoprodol A 266 350mg. Label on bottle looks legit. Has everything on it including pharmacare direct. The name is scratched out. Please is there anyone who can help me ## What are you trying to find out? If they were not prescribed to you; you should destroy them. Carisoprodol is generic ( the main ingredient) for Soma. Soma is a muscle relaxer. It's not narcotic unless combined with codeine, but it has been known to cause dependency. This drug has been discontinued, it is no longer prescribed. ## rst off I know if they don't belong to me that they should be thrown away. We are not stupid. My...

I have taken soma/carisoprodol. However, is taking SG 109 similar to Dan 5513? ## Yes, they both contain 350mgs of Carisoprodol, which is a muscle relaxant, they're just manufactured by different companies. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Are the "sg109" the same as "5513 dan" soma? They are the same right? ## What is the difference? I know 20% is allowed, which is ridiculous. So how is the "SG 109 white round pill" rated compared to Dan, Soma, etc.? Who makes SG 109? I know there are bad ones out there. By the texture alone I can tell. ## I don't like the SG 109 they have a different texture to me. and I don't get the relief i do from th...

I filled a prescription for 350 mg Carisoprodol Pain-O-Soma and can't tell if they are for real or not - they are plain white pills with no imprint on one side and a vertical line on the other side. Just want to know if they are pure or cut with aspirin? They came from India in prepackages of 10 each. Are they the real thing or cut with aspirin or something? ## I did the India thing once and they were very weak. It cost $120. The other day I picked up a bottle at my local Rite Aid, it was $1.20. Now that Soma is a C4 controlled medicine I'm not sure I would ever order it again as it is a Felony ## Greetings Karen, According to the FDA regulations all controlled medication, such as somas, are required to be identifiable through the imprint, color, size and shape. If the medicatio...

Trying to confirm if this pill is Soma. It is round like an M&M and white. One side says 2410 with a fancy v. The other side is blank. ## Yes, this is Carisprodol 350mgs, a generic for the muscle relaxant Soma. (NDC 0603-2582). Inactive Ingredients: - Croscarmellose Sodium - Hypromelloses - Magnesium Stearate - Microcrystalline Cellulose ## It appears we gave up because the FDA turned their backs on us.i have had quality of life with hydrocodone and hermetic Soma. Now drugs have fewer of the pain reliever ingredients. The brands are terrible. Soma is very weak. I have had Siegen Ventus and now Method brand. My pharmacist is trying to help but they are unable to get brands no longer being manufactured. I guess I am hoping to hear someone has had better luck. ## PLEASE SOMEONE REPLY ...

HAVING UNENDING MUSCLE SPASMS IN UPPER BACK, ALMOST BAD AS A KIDNEY STONE PAIN YEARS AGO. WHICH IS BETTER I HAVE HAD SOMA,AND SOME PEOPLE SAY FLEXERIL.SOMA JUST MADE ME SLEEPY,ALSO TRIED HYDROCODON#5OT MUCH BETTER? ## Have you consulted a doctor? Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol and Flexeril contains the active ingredient Cyclobenzaprine, both of which are muscle relaxants, so they will only help if your pain and problems are caused strictly from muscle pain and spasms. Hydrocodone is a narcotic, that may help with most types of pain and there are higher dosages available that contain 7.5mgs and 10mgs of it. However, only your doctor is going to be able to help you determine what is causing the problem and arrive at a proper treatment option. ## Soma is the only med I...

## What is this medication prescribed for? ## Carisoprodol is a muscle relaxant. It is used to treat injuries and other painful muscular conditions. I am thinking it's similar to Soma (?) ## I currently take this medication and it is a muscle relaxer but also used as a sleep aid. It is the same as Soma. It's the generic substitute... I've had good results with it and no side effects except it makes me sleepy. ## It is the active ingredient in Soma, so it is the generic for it. It is used to treat the pain associated with muscle strains, pain, and spasms. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and drowsiness. muscle relaxant ## I am finding it listed as a muscle relaxant on several Spanish websites, but I cannot find a listing of what it contains. As a group, though, muscle relaxants generally cause such side effects as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. Does anyone else have more information on this and its active ingredient? ## Carisodoprol 350mg per pil ## correction there... Carisoprodol at 350 mg per pill ## tensapriv ## Is real good stuff, kinda like a Qaalude. Just be very very careful not to take more than prescribed dose. This med. seems kinda innocent however a false misleading feeling of more is better. It is an older med. and has history of putting you to sleep forever; yeah mortality if too much taken. I have read that the newer muscle relaxants reduce likelihood of a ...

I have been using soma/carisoprodol for many years. Usually the paharmacy gives me generic from Watson or Qaulitest. Last time I got the meds it was manufac. by Carimax. It didn't work as well. Do different brands work differently? ## Yes, there can be some differences in generic drugs, the FDA allows a window, of the active ingredient, of up to plus or minus 20% from the name brand product. This can cause variations, where you may, in some rare cases, receive less of a dosage than normal and it may not be as effective. Do you have any other questions? ## Is there any way to tell by the brand names? That way I could avoid the lesser dosage. ## No, there really isn't, other than by your experience. I wish there was, it would make it easier for many people, if they knew what compa...
