i have several nodules in my thyroid. a recent fna showed benign colloid nodule showing focal hurthle cell change. Is Allopurinol mfg by qualitest gluten free? ## Hi edb, From what I could gather, Allopurinol from Qualitest contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and sodium starch glycolate. Unfortunately, "sodium starch glycolate" is heavily regarded as a questionable substance for those with a gluten intolerance; since it is derived from starch. I'm allergic to sulfa can I take chantix ## Hi tj, According to the FDA, Chantix reportedly contains the following list of inactive ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, anhydrous + dibasic calcium phosphate + croscarmellose sodium + colloidal silicon dioxide + magnesium stearate + Opadry® White (for 0.5 mg) + Opadry® Blue (for 1 mg) + Opadry® Clear. To the best of my knowledge, none of these ingredients show any relation to sulfa. However, I still think it would be wise to double check with the doctor who's prescribing it just to be on the safe side. I hope this helps!
