Amoxicillin, cold sores
2 Replies RSS
I had a sinus infection a few months ago and my doctor prescribed amoxicillin. Today I noticed the signs of a cold sore coming. Could I take the rest of my amoxicillin to get rid of it? ## Unfortunately, cold sores are caused by a virus, so an antibiotic will not help treat or prevent them. However, you could ask your doctor about taking Acyclovir, which is approved by the FDA to help prevent them. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi, I'm getting lipliner tattoo and would like to know if I take Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium 875mg will prevent me from getting cold sores? I've never had cold sores before.

Amoxicillin for tooth infection

In december I developed bad tooth pain and a sore on the gum in a left molar. I have a heart murmer and my blood press.rose to a high level but was erratic and other times a normal rate. I called a dentist and he said to go to the ER. I did and they prescribed amoxicillin at 500mgs every 8 hrs. The last dose was on Jan 3, 2013 and by then the tooth problem was gone. I went to a dentist and he found no infections but said a molar on the opposite side which had lost some filling should be repaired soon. I made an appt. with him, but in the meantime it developed a blister near the root and soreness at the gumline. Also I started having erratic BP swings again sometimes 160/105 and resting pulse to 88. When I called he said to cancel his appt and go to the ER again, he didn't think the ...

IS BETAMOX SAFE TO TAKE DURING PREGNANCY? ## Betamox contains the active ingredient Amoxicillin, it is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections. Has your doctor instructed you to use it? If you have an infection that requires treatment, letting it continue out of control would be far more dangerous to both you and the baby. my sister claims this is amoxicillin... no imprints with blue and white capsule. has anyone ever had amox. with this appearance ? im kinda skeptical. ## This pill IS amoxicillin. Sold in mexico. Came in a bottle of 1000. Thanks anyhow, but we got the data needed :) Blue (like the default link color in HTML) and white. Healed my wound on my leg that was taking too long to heal. Gracias, amigo's ;) ## Hi Jay, Thanks for the heads up on the pill ID. Just out of curiosity, how were you able to end up identifying it since the pill has no markings? Was it through a lab analysis? That seems to me like the only reliable method for identification in situations like this, since you can't necessarily take someone's word for it alone. At any rate, I'm glad to hear that it helped hea...

Can I take amoxicillin every 6 hours when it says take every 12? I messed up my dose. I took it at 3:15am when I usually take it at 9am. Will I be ok if I took it at 10am? ## Hello, Miranda! How are you? Yes, you can't really overdose on an antibiotic, so to speak, so accidentally taking one early won't hurt anything. Just return to your regular dosing schedule from now on. This medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have a prescription of amoxicillin for strep throat and I took my first dosage at 4:30 pm, but the bottle says twice a day. Teva Amoxicillin What Does It Treat
16 Replies RSS
I have a brand new prescription of teva-amoxicillin. I had a gum infection - within two pills the pain was gone and I have this bottle full.. I now have a temperature with which I believe is due to a chest infection. Will this medication help? ## Amoxicillin is an antibiotic, which can be used to treat many different type of infections. However, you should finish the full course of the medication, as prescribed, even if you start to feel better, before you have finished. The pain may have went away, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the infection cleared up. Thus, you could be sick now, because it was never fully treated and has now spread to other parts of your body. In addition, only taking part of the prescription for an antibiotic creates the very real risk of developing an...

I have a UTI, I am going crazy, my Dr. can't get me in for four days and there is no way I can take any more of this. I have Amoxicillin 875/ Clav K 125 Tab (whatever that means) that I was prescribed for a sinus infection that went away on its own. Can I use this for my UTI? I have the full prescription right here. Ugh that would be a God send. Cranberry is only keeping some of the pain away. ## Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, the active ingredients in Augmentin, is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections, however, it may not actually help in the case of a UTI. Overuse has caused it to become ineffective for treating these types of infections in a large percentage of people, which is why it is no longer the first choice antibiotic for treating them.
