Lyrica Lawsuit (Page 21)

Updated

Does anyone know if there is an ongoing lawsuit against the company who puts out Lyrica? I am a mess from it. Do we have a leg to stand on when it comes to the side effects they found out from people like us? I am a long termer. I have been taking 900 mg since 2005. Is there anyone representing us? Thank you

Everyone who has had a bad reaction to lyrica call the number andre left. It is a law firm. Maybe if we all call they will look into it. Do it now!!! Maybe we have a chance to get this drug off the market and receive some kind of compensation for all the misery this drug has caused us. Give them the web site so they can read some of the horror stories. I consider myself lucky that just my memory has been affected, but it did play a part in my job loss in june, 2007.

so far all i get when i contact these law groups is an "im sorry but we arent pursuing this at this time" letter. This stuff made me nuts/suicidal/and mean- all the while my 6 kids had to bear as much or more of the suffering than i did.

Lyrica has had a terrible impact on my life I was put on it for Arthritic Pain and in Perth Australia it seems to have just been rolled out to every public patient in pain clinics, I believe this is criminal they did exactly the same with Tramadol. It is now of standard that this drug be commenced if you have chronic/"persistent" pain. I lost 6 months of my memory, my young babys connection to her mum, over $17,000 (have no real idea on what), my marriage, my health, friends and so much more. I await a class action here in Australia and I searching for how to have this medication reviewed and want to stop how our Doctor's think that it's the answer to all pain issues. I believe that neurological drugs such as Lyrica should be treated with kit gloves but alas here are more horror stories and I believe that it will only get worse with the attitude of pain doctors. The other drug being pushed now is Methadone which is a whole other story. Shame on the Doctors and Drug Reps pushing this onto everyone who walks through there doors.

Hi Karen , my 18 year old son stopped takeing Lyrica more than 20 months ago for chronic whiplash pain and went from being a very bright promising student to one that has a lot of trouble concentrating and remembering information , he is in constant mental torment because of this .and there is no sign that the side effects are diminishing . Lyrica is a toxic nuro sinapse destroying agent , thats how i believe it controls pain . It is a dangerous and vile drug and only suited to people bed ridden with pain and unlikely to ever return to work .Lyrica has destroyed my sons accademic future . I would suggest you try Chinese medicine , good luck

I would like to hit this drug company where it hurts because they have hurt us by placeing money ahead of human safety , Lyrica is a vile drug , how dare they .

I was on lyrica some time in either the latter part of 2006 or 2007. I do not remember when. I NEVER noticed any side effects, but others did. I was on it for a few months for chronic arthritic pain. When others told me about my behavior (I was acting and talking like a drunk, falling and had a staggering gait) I stopped cold turkey against mmy doctor's advice. I was remembering what another doctor told me when I was accidently put on dilantin because they thought I had epilepsy. This doctor was a neurologist and a psychiatrist. He said I did not have epilepsy, just a severe concussion and to stop cold turkey the dilantin. Anyway, back to the subject @ hand, I still have memory losses from this drug and that was five years ago. Now I must write everything down lest I forget. I count all my pills that I take so that I do not overdose. I do this EVERY day. My short memory has been affected. Even things my husband and I did years ago I do not remember and alzeimers disease does not run in my family. Prior to this drug, I had a.prettygood memory. Now, forget it or should I say. forgetwhat? This drug caused me to lose my job of 29 years as a respiratory therapist and nurse, so I know a bad drug when I see it. All you can hope for is that your son gets better. I am into herbal remedies now. Try that until we can find a lawyer who will do a class action suit. One of these replies has a number. Look for it and call. Everyone call, please. Must a certain number of people have to die before they remove this dangerous drug, like with zomax, prescribed for ppain

This drug caused people to die from anaphylactic shock. Because they almost overnight developed an allergy to zomax. I was one of the lucky ones. I knew what was happening and my doctor was a block away. But this drug and the company that makes it is sneaky. Everytime a new side effect is noted they add it to their label. I guess the clincal trials did not show much, so now we are the gunea pigs. Wish you all good luck

The drug that is sneaky, that I was referring to is lyrica.

Hi Sherry , we are from Australia and my son still has memory , concentration and eye sight impairment 2 years after ceasing Lyrica ,he is only 19 , If we can get enough sufferers that can prove there are no other factors are causeing there problems then we can mount a case against the manufacturers of this vile drug and hopefully gain compensation for loss and suffering .Which country are you from ? If enough people put there hand up and unite then we can prevaile against these pharmasuitical giants .

Hi Nick, Thank you very much for contacting me and I am very sorry about the problems your son is having. This drug is horrible! I am from the United States, and so far I have had no luck trying to find a lawyer who would be interested in a class action suit. I am still suffering effects from that drug, my fingers in both hands are numb and tingling, and I am a nurse! Right now I am home recouperating from a work related injury. I suffered a torn rotator cuff which was operated on back in November of 2011. I also have herniated disk in my back which my back surgeon and I agreed to start off treating this conservatively with pain management, physical therapy and cortizone injections into the hernited disk. That is when I was put on Lyrica for about 1-2 weeks, suffered tightening in my chest and throat, loosing my train of thought, confusion, and the numbness and tingling in both hands. I was hospitalized for a few days because of this. Here it is almost the end of March and the symptoms have not gone away, although the pain clinic that I eventually quit, said they would go away, it has not. I will continue to make phone calls and find someone to handle this and keep you and everyone else on here posted! Not sure if the two countries can be involved with this together, it would be nice but if you or I can find someone maybe they could help us recommend someone in each others country. Again, thank you so much for contacting me. Lets keep in touch and get some resolution here! I will not give up!
Sincerely,
Sherry

Wish I knew of some lawyer who would take this case about the harmful effects of lyrica. Back in 2007 I believe it was a major contributer of losing my job in a hospiital where I had worked for 29 years. I had a pretty good memory before lyrica. Now forget it. I have to write things down. My short term mermory is the worst, but some of my long term memory has been affected, and I am not suffering from alzeimers either. Does not run in the family. Has anyone found a lawyer willing to take o pheizer. They are the ones who make lyrica. I think they need to see this web site and read some of the horror stories here. If they can pull a fairly safe drug like darvocet, which has been around a long time, why not lyrica which has more dangerous side effects. Iiguess all they care about is money.:-(

Hi Sherry , It took my son 5 weeks to recover from Lyrica the first time he was on it for 2 months at 75 mg x 2 per day so i am hopeing you will recover seeing you were only on it for a short time , also from personal experience with your shoulder , try a good myotherapist ( muscle therapist ), has worked wonders on my sons injurys and wish i had taken him to one first , also heard good testimonies from patients with shoulder problems that had surgery and had sufered for more than 20 years , and were dramaticaly improved with only a couple of sessions . From experience in Australia the majority of physiotherapists are next to useless and chiropractors follow a flawed philosophy ,.Oesteopaths are almost as good as myotherapists .

Hi Nick i'm also from Australia, Perth to be percise it would be great to get something happening in OZ. A class action or even just a raise profile of he serious and dangerous side effects and practices in prescribing this drug. I know in our public health pain clinics here it is a first line drug and even after my terrible experience the pain clinic doctors are still wanting to prescribe this drug. I have to keep fighting them about it. It's is incredible and unfortunately so many people are know on this drug or have been on it!

I shattered my thoracic spine and was on Lyrica for over a year and begged numerous Drs. to help me. I was told by a top hospital in the country that I was crazy, that I was making it all up. I became suicidal after being belittled by this Dr. I was taken off of Lyrica 6mos later but still have many of the side effects. I was just diagnosed with PTSD I have panic attacks and nightmares. My Psych Dr told me yesterday that the Lyrica has just as much to do with the ptsd as the trauma to my spine.
